Currently, there are a few characters that have a background that make it kinda difficult to see the text. The most notable ones are Lana and Lincoln. The darker backgrounds with black text don't really go well together. Since Lana's background is a dark blue, it is even a little difficult to see the links. Instead of fixing just Lana's and Lincoln's backgrounds to be lighter, I think we should make backgrounds more consistent among all characters. There are a few ways that we can fix this.
The first option would be zero change. We could keep everything as is. This wouldn't fix consistency, but the option to leave things as is, is available.
The second option would be to just use one color among all character pages. This would make for a nice consistent background among all articles and seems like the simplest solution. However, it wouldn't make any pages unique.
The third option (suggested by DEmersonJMFM) is to keep each character with their current color, but increase the lightness of the color to a certain percentage (such as 80%). Click here for an example of how they'd look.
Seeing how currently the General BG template is at 85%, perhaps that would be a better percentage to shoot for with these backgrounds, instead of the 80% that was used in the example image.
The colors for a character background shouldn't be changed once finalized, to help maintain consistency. In other words, after the correct changes are made to the templates and tabs (if we go through with options 2 or 3), we shouldn't change their colors again. When a template is updated, the tabs would also need to be updated to go with the new color. Hence why pages such as Lily, Lana, and Lynn currently have a difference between their tabs and their backgrounds (the tabs are still using the same color as the old backgrounds).
Please leave a reply to this thread with which option you prefer. If you have a different suggestion than one of the options listed above, please share what you have in mind.
