Hello! This is another requested song parody and it's of "A British Bank" from Mary Poppins. Initially I wasn't gonna do the dialogue, but then I realised that with Principal Huggins and Lisa, the dialogue would be hilarious.
Huggins: An American workplace is run with precision.
An American school requires nothing less!
Tradition, discipline, and rules,
Must be the tools.
Without them- disorder, chaos, lackluster education!
In short, you have a ghastly mess!
(Lisa: I quite agree.)
Huggins: The children must be molded, shaped, and taught,
That life's a looming battle to be faced and fought!
(In short, I am disturbed to hear my students talking about learning poetry at Flip's Food and Fuel, doing chemistry in kindergarten, frog heroism! Yes, well, I don't mind that quite so much. At any rate, it's a noble act. But bringing pet bats to school?! I ask you- bringing her pet bat to school?! And highly questionable field trips with Mrs. Rita Loud!)
If they must go on field trips, these field trips ought to be,
Fraught with purpose, yes, and practicality.
These silly studies like molecula-- molecu--- molecu---
(Lisa: Molecular biology! Huggins: Yes, well done, you said it,)
And saving amphibians,
Have little use; fulfil no basic need!
They must learn the honest truth!
Despite their youth,
They must learn---
Lisa: About the life you lead.
(Huggins: Exactly)
Lisa: They must feel the thrill of being grammatically correct,
One hundred check marks neatly in a row.'
(Huggins: Quite right!)
Lisa: When gazing at a test that shows they've got straight A's,
Their proverbial cup of joy should overflow!
(Huggins: Precisely!)
Lisa: It's time they learned to walk in your footsteps,
(Huggins: My footsteps!)
Lisa: To tread the straight and narrow path with pride.
(Huggins: With pride!)
Lisa: Tomorrow, just as you suggest,
Pressed and dressed,
All the students will be at your side.
