As of now we allow both PNG, and JPG file types in galleries. Some wikis don't allow JPG uploads when it comes to galleries, and I'm wondering if we should do the same. PNG files are little higher quality than that of JPG, and since a JPG file is a smaller file size, it compresses the image. I'd personally prefer for PNG file types to be uploaded, I just don't know if banning JPG images is the way to go. I only upload in PNG format, so this rule wouldn't affect me, but for some users, JPG is the only format that they can upload. I personally think that this rule may be too strict, but I'd like to hear what the rest of the community has to say on the matter.
So what do you think? Do you support the idea that we should only allow PNG uploads from now on into the galleries?
