I have been asked a few times as of late why exactly Sandgar was banned forever. I'm making this in hopes that it will be the last time I need to explain everything possible. So I'm going to start with my very first conversation with Sandgar.
A while back Sandgar was adding new categories that I thought he had no approval of an admin for doing (turns out he asked an admin in chat, but with chat, nothing goes to the public, so there was no way of me knowing about the approval). So like for any other user that would do this, I sent him a message saying that you need an Admin's approval to add new categories for the wiki, but I got no repsonse and he continued to add the categories to many image files. So I sent him another message saying to stop and please check his previous message, but I still got no answer and he still continued to add these categories to even more files. Not knowing what else to do to get his attention, I gave him the absolute minimum of a block (2 hours) and let him talk on his wall so we can discuss why he is adding these categories. So he started giving me an attitude and said that I should be demoted for "abusing my admin powers". For proof, this whole conversation can be found here . The way I handled being threatened for my demotion, is totally different from the way he handled it . His emotions get the best of him, and he even went as far as to say f*** you, towards a fellow admin of his at the time. It was a disagreement towards an edit war, and while Rorosilky5 wasn't totally in the right for her actions that led to this statement, it was still uncalled for.
Next up, we have what led to his demotion. This thread will cover everything on that topic. After his demotion, his attitude didn't change much, in fact, it probably made it worse. He said that if someone had only told him to watch his attitude that he'd understand and calm down. However, when I called him out on his attitude before it only made him more hostile towards me. He was saying all the right things after his demotion, but I could tell it was most likely just a facade in hopes he could get his rights back.
A few days after being demoted, he was cussing in chat, which I won't make a big deal out of, but you will see why I mention this now, later on. He was saying "s***" and we told him that it's considered a major swear, so he stopped. After that, we got into a new topic, it was something about schooling (honestly don't remember the entire conversation, but I remember his comments on Private Schools), and he said that, "private schools are some of the worst places for kids, man they are horrible people who come out of those". I later sent him a warning about this. Upon sending him the warning, he started threatening that if he was banned he'd never recommend to anyone to go to TLH wiki. So now I was in a bit of a pickle. If I catch him doing something wrong, it seems like the only thing I can do is send him warnings that way I won't be responsible for any damage to the wiki.
The next issue we had with him occured in chat when he refused to take a conversation into PM's. He must have felt that he didn't do anything wrong, and set up this thread . In that thread, I once again said how I had personally had it with his attitude after he ignored me. Clearly I wasn't the only who felt that way, as some others commented in there as well. That wasn't meant to just be some warning, that was a "you better shape up your attitude or else" type warning.
A few days after this event, multiple things went wrong all at once. It started off with Sandgar spreading rumors of another user in PM's. The rumors may not have been completely false, but they were all a massive stretch from the truth. The next day was his last. What exactly caused him to snap the way he did, I don't know. But what he said in chat was very disturbing. He said, "well, Blazing, Saiya, and someone else who I forgot, I've lost all respect for you guys for not doing your job" and then he told everyone there to "burn in hell". His last statment was, "I'm done with this wiki, it's a s*** show anyways". He knows how we feel about that word, seeing how a while back we told him it's considered a major swear and he hadn't used that word since. He left chat right after saying that and updated his userpage to say "LEAVING FOR GOOD". After all this, I decided to just block him indefinitely. This way we never would have to hear from him again and deal with his drama. He was causing way too much stress for others and myself, so I thought this ban was fine and if he ever wanted to come back, he could talk to me about it on Community Central. Instead what he did, was take it to the HTF wiki where he is the "leader" (his words not mine). Using the HTF wiki to talk about a ban is not the place for that conversation. Since he still never came to talk to me about it on Community Central, I assume he either figures he won't be able to get a deduction because of how bad he was here, or he had given up and wants to move on. Personally, I don't want someone who called the wiki a s*** hole to ever come back. You don't like it here, no one is forcing you to stay. If you are going to leave, I'd hope that you wouldn't leave with such an attitude like that. There's a much more civil way in doing it.
Judging by his large quantity of blocks on the Gravity Falls wiki, this isn't the first wiki where he's had a bad attitude. I looked into what he has done there (I was going through everything he did on that wiki for 8 hours straight to make sure it was all justified), and it is not pretty. I just want to be done with Sandgar and not have to deal with anymore drama concerning him than I already have. I know that if he were to come back nothing would change. With the type of history he has, I have no hope for such a thing.
So what do you think? Do you think that the indefinite ban is okay due to his actions, or was it too rough? If you are going to vote, you must have at least 10 edits here before the thread was posted. I don't want any sock accounts to be part of this. If you agree that the ban is justified by his actions, use the { {Support} } template. If you feel that he should be given a second chance at some point, use the { { Oppose} } template.
