Episode Information

"Bulking and Sulking" is the sixteenth episode of the eighth season, and the three-hundred-forty-ninth episode of The Loud House.

Plot[]

Dad struggles to run Lynn's Table when his brother Lance opens up a gym above the restaurant.

Synopsis[]

At Lynn's Table, Lynn Sr., Lincoln, Luan and Lynn are prepared to close the restaurant for the night. Shortly after they lock the door, Lance arrives. He reveals that he's trying to find a building for his gym business and is not having any luck so far. When Lance bemoans that he might not be able to find a place in Royal Woods, Lynn suggests that he can use the storage room above the restaurant, to which Lynn Sr. and Lance approve of, since it means they could be together. Later, after getting all of Lance's equipment in the building, he declares that his gym is officially open for business.

Unfortunately, it soon becomes apparent that the gym is a major hindrance to the business of Lynn's Table, as Lance blares his music incredibly loud, causing large vibrations, Lance dropping his weights onto the floor, causing them to break the ceiling of the restaurant, and holding exercise classes on the parking lot, blocking the cars trying to enter. Unable to tolerate these issues, Lynn Sr. is prepared to tell Lance that their businesses being together isn't working out. Suddenly, he encounters Lance, who wants to tell him something as well. However, Lance reveals that he's liking the co-op venture with their businesses, and Lynn Sr., unable to hurt his brother's feelings, reluctantly agrees with him. Seeing how he doesn't have the courage to tell Lance the truth, Lincoln gets the idea that, because loves being the building, they should try to make him hate it.

Sometime later, Lynn Sr. and the kids get to work on trying to make the experience awful for Lance. This ranges from holding a loud karaoke session during a yoga session, serving members copious amounts of chili (especially to Flip) before their workout, causing them to pass lots of gas, and sending lobsters up the vents to invade the gym and pinch the members. Because of all these setbacks, Lance admits that their co-op venture isn't working and tells them that, after his class today, he'll pack up his things and leave. The second he leaves, Lynn Sr. begins to sing that their plan to get him to leave worked, only to be informed by his kids that Lance is right behind him, having heard everything. Hurt by his brother's actions, Lance storms off, causing a guilty Lynn Sr. to chase after him.

Lynn Sr. finds Lance at the Royal Woods football field, and apologizes to his brother, saying that he didn't want to upset him due to the fact that they're back together. Lance tells him that he would've understood if he had just told him upfront, and that he's more upset at the fact that he was lied to rather than the fact that he was trying to kick him out. With their issues resolved, the two Loud brothers reconcile, and Lynn Sr. says that he knows how Lance can stay in Royal Woods and keep his gym open. Later, it is revealed that Lynn Sr. had made an agreement with Flip to let him rent out his garage for Lance's gym, where he lets him pay half the rent with cash, and the other half with chili.
