Leni must protect her mannequin friend Tanya when her boss, Ms. Carmichael, decides to update Reininger’s.
Synopsis[]
Leni convinces Miguel and Fiona to help her protect Tanya.
At the Royal Woods Mall, Leni had brought a box of muffins to share with her Fiona and Miguel, as well as Tanya. As they eat, Ms. Carmichael arrives to make an announcement: she announces that they're going to retire their mannequins. At first, Leni is delighted by the news, but her tone immediately changes when she's told the mannequins, which includes Tanya, are going to be disposed of. Leni argues that they can't get rid of Tanya, but Ms. Carmichael dismisses her complaints, proclaiming that Tanya is "just a mannequin". At that moment, the movers arrive to take the mannequins away, and Leni manages to convince her friends in helping her keep Tanya safe from the movers.
Leni and her friends try to sneak Tanya out of the store, only to find that Ms. Carmichael has locked the front door, forcing them to stay inside the store. They are forced to hide in several different areas, with Miguel even giving Tony a facial makeover as a distraction. When the movers finally clear out the store, Miguel and Fiona congratulate themselves for saving Tanya. However, Leni reveals that she put Tanya in the driver's seat of a truck outside the store--not realizing that it was the movers' truck. Thinking quickly, the three of them decide to follow the truck in Vanzilla and rescue Tanya.
Upon arriving at the mannequin factory, Leni, Miguel, and Fiona don disguises and pose as mannequins for Pauly and Tony to take inside. However, they make remarks about Miguel's fashion and style which offends him to the point of unintentionally blowing their cover. The three are chased by Tony and Pauly, but manage to elude them long enough to swap their clothes with other mannequins and hide (with Miguel being stuck with tie-dye clothes, to his dismay). They are suddenly called by Ms. Carmichael, who is shocked to realize they left to bring Tanya back to Reininger's, and threatens to fire all three of them if they do not return right away. However, Leni admits that it was her idea, quoting that they're a family at Reininger's, and Tanya is a member of it just the same. Leni even admits that Tanya is like the sister she never had--only for Fiona to point out that she has nine sisters--and is willing to accept losing her job if it means rescuing her friend.
Tanya is accepted back by Ms. Carmichael.
Touched by Leni's words, Miguel and Fiona agree to stay with Leni and help her rescue Tanya. However, they realize they are in the mannequin recycling room, where countless old mannequins are being destroyed. Leni finds Tanya, but she is unable to rescue her from a crusher. However, the crusher is stopped by none other than Ms. Carmichael, who admits that Leni is right: Tanya is part of the Reininger's family, so she can stay as long as she wants.
Soon, Tanya is returned to Reininger's and is given tie-dye to display, to which Miguel has taken a liking. However, they are confronted by Tony and Pauly, who are requesting the same makeover for Pauly that Miguel gave Tony.
This is the first pair of episodes to accomplish this. This would later be followed by "Hamalot" and "Garbage Dumped".
Leni telling Ms. Carmichael that Tanya is like the sister she never had is similar to her telling Lori that Ronnie Anne could be like the sister she (Lori) never had in "A Fair to Remember".
At the beginning of the episode, Miguel calls Leni "manager extraordinaire", possibly referencing how she was tasked with managing Reiningers in the absence of Mrs. Carmichael in "Leader of the Rack".
This episode reveals the following:
Reiningers has a mannequin in the sports department, which Leni has nicknamed "Bradley".
The Reiningers employees' break room has had a weird smell for some time prior to this episode, though nobody has discovered the source.
Up until this episode, Miguel has never liked tie-dye.
Miguel has nicknamed his belt "Beltissimo".
The name is a pun of bellissimo, the Italian word for "beautiful".
Miguel's hairstyle is no longer trendy.
Miguel uses a French pomade on his hair.
Two of Leni's fuffins have inedible objects on them: One has a cork for a nose, and another has a penny.
The mannequin that Mrs. Carmichael breaks at the beginning of the episode resembles Girl Jordan.
One of the mannequins that Pauly and Tony move out is wearing Mandee's shoes and socks.
Miguel showcases his makeup skills from "A Pimple Plan".
Irony:
Pauly and Tony use their walkie-talkies while standing within listening distance of each other.
After noticing Tony's makeover, Pauly calls him "Tone", which is a pun on toner.
Leni claims that she values Tanya because she feels like the sister she never had, only to be informed by Fiona that she already has nine sisters.
Miguel calls out Tanya's name, only to realize that mannequins cannot hear.

Bye, Tanya - The title of this episode is a reference to the 2017 biographical sports mockumentary black comedy film, I, Tonya.
Super Mario - Pauly and Tony's outfits being red and green respectively could possibly be a reference to the titular main protagonists of this video game franchise, whose signatures colors are red and green.
Monsters, Inc. - Fiona discovering Bradley's tennis racket in a garbage cube is similar to a scene in this 2001 Pixar animated film where Sully discovers Boo's monster disguise in a garbage cube, causing him to assume that she got killed by the garbage compactor.
The first time Tanya's head breaks off, the top of her neck is charred. However, when Leni breaks off her head while trying to move her to Spaghetti on a Stick, the top of her neck is clean.
