Lola struggles to dampen her sweet tooth when Mom challenges her to go an entire week without added sugar.
Synopsis[]
The Louds have just finished their dinner, and Lynn Sr. has decided to surprise his family with a frosted cinnamon Bundt cake for dessert. However, the platter with said cake is revealed to be empty, and when Lynn Sr. questions where it went, Lincoln and Luan states that their own respective treats have gone missing as well. Realizing there's a "sweet thief" present, Lisa calls for Todd and instructs him seek out the thief. Examining a trail of fructose corn syrup, Todd follows it and deduces that the thief is none other than Lola, who is revealed to not only have eaten the cake, but that she has stashed an abundance of sweet treats in her room. Asking her family to leave so she can speak with Lola alone, Rita tells her that she has a problem with eating too many sweets and suggests that she take a break from them. When Lola initially refuses, Rita decides to make a bet: if Lola can go one week without eating any sugar, Rita will buy her a pageant dress she has long wanted. Knowing how much she wants this dress, Lola accepts the offer, and tearfully bids farewell to her sweets when Rita confiscates them.
The next day, Lola is prepared to have breakfast. She initially gets French toast, but the high amount of syrup she pours constitutes too much sugar. After her requests of pancakes à la mode and cereal are shot down, she is instead offered a bowl of oatmeal with fruit, which she accepts. Before she can eat, she discovers Lynn about to eat the French toast she denied eating, causing Lola to swipe it away from her and threaten her with "You're either with me or against me." Later, Lola is prepared to watch TV, but on every channel she changes to, it features a commercial promoting a sugary treat. Rita notices this and, wanting to help Lola take her mind off sweets, suggests eating celery sticks instead. Outside, as Lola prepares to eat her celery, she witnesses Mr. Grouse getting a delivery from Jack Sweet's Candy Factory. Not wanting this to distract her from her goal of avoiding sweets, Lola successfully drives away the delivery man by spraying him with a hose. Later, as Lola takes a drive with Mr. Sprinkles, she is suddenly chased by an ice cream truck. The truck's driver, Dalton, begs her to buy something, saying she is his best customer, but she successfully evades him. For the rest of the week, Lola succeeds in controlling herself by resisting temptation whenever it's presented.
On Friday, the last day of the bet, Lola is prepared to go on a field trip with Lana and the rest of their class. Before she leaves, Rita offers her a bag of celery sticks, but Lola declines, claiming that, considering where they go, it's enough to help keep her mind off sweets. Unfortunately, the field trip is revealed to be located at Jack Sweet's Candy Factory. Upon their arrival, the owner of the factory, Mr. Sweet, arrives and invites them to tour his factory. While Mr. Sweet sings about his factory, Lola is forced to watch Lana and her classmates enjoy themselves eating everything in sight while struggling to control her temptation. Eventually, Lola arrives to the exit, but before she can walk out the door, Mr. Sweet offers her a salted caramel truffle. Unfortunately for Lola, the temptation is too strong for her to resist, and she ends up having it.
Later that day, Lola sadly arrives home and cries to her mother that she lost the bet because she had a sweet treat before the end of the week. After Lola confesses that she doesn't deserve her dress and that she let her mother down, Rita is instead proud of her, saying that the amount of effort she went through all week is much greater than one sweet, meaning that she made a lot of progress. Because of that, Rita allows Lola to have her dress. Before they can get it, however, Dalton, the ice cream man from yesterday, arrives and begs on his knees for Lola to come back, saying that he has new flavors for her to try. This prompts Lola to spray him with the hose, once again threatening him with "You're either with me or against me!" even though the bet was over.
The title card music is an instrumental of "Welcome to My Factory".
This is the final episode where Lucy is 8 years old.
This marks the second time Rita has pointed out that Lola has a problematic sweet tooth, after "Rita Loud".
Lola was previously shown with a sweet tooth in "No Spoilers".
Rita labels breakfast cereals as "candy in a bowl." While this generalization may apply to most cereals such as frosted corn flakes and those that contain marshmallows, others such as crisp rice, standard toasted oats and corn flakes usually contain very little sugar.
This episode reveals the following:
Mr. Grouse's favorite candy is caramel macadamia chocolates.
Lola likes French toast, but only with syrup.
Lola likes the crunch of celery.
There is a local ice cream salesman, who knows Lola's name and considers her his best customer.
Todd cannot climb stairs (due to traveling on wheels), and he can scan for corn syrup and determine the level of fructose in it.
Lana has apparently suggested breakfast on the floor at least twice, but was turned down.
Innuendos:
The narrator's voice of describing how the chocolate truffles was made, was spoken in a female seductive voice, which caused Lola to chew on her bear and drool just before Rita turned off the tv.
A gummy bear worker runs away screaming when Mr. Sweet tells the kids that everything in his candy factory, including the gummy bear workers, are edible, heavily implying that the worker was afraid of being eaten due to being a living piece of candy. Upon seeing the worker's reaction, Mr. Sweet quickly prompts the kids to not actually eat them.
Irony:
While Todd was capable of many amazing feats in "Kick Some Bot", he apparently is unable to climb a simple flight of stairs.
Lola initially refused the celery for her field trip, claiming that her destination would allow her to keep her mind off candy, only for her to discover that her field trip is a visit to a candy factory.
Lola believed she lost the bet because she ate one sweet treat before the end of the week, but Rita tells her that she still won because the amount of effort she went through to control her temptation is much greater than one treat.
In addition to Lola not eating sweets for a week, she forbade Lynn and Mr. Grouse from eating any sweet foods themselves, yelling at them, "You're either with me or against me!" Although in a later scene, Lynn and Lincoln are seen drinking Flippees and eating popcorn and gummy worms while at the movies with Lola.
Although Lola earned the pageant dress, she still initially refused to let Dalton serve her ice cream and scares him off. This is likely because the week was technically still not over and Lola did not want to lose her reward.
Cartoon physics:
Todd's X-ray scan of Lola reveals she has swallowed the frosted cinnamon Bundt cake whole without chewing it.
Ironically, Lynn Sr. can be heard asking, "Did she even chew that thing?" as he exits the twins' bedroom with the rest of his children.
Todd's X-ray also shows Lola's heart in the shape of a love heart rather than the shape of the organ.
The ice cream truck chasing Lola gets hoisted up in the air by a geyser of water after it accidentally crashes into a drinking fountain.
There are sentient gummy bears in the candy factory.
This episode marks Royal Woods Elementary School's only appearance in Season 7.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - When the kids go to the candy factory, Mr. Sweet says that everything is candy and therefore edible, similar to the introduction Willy Wonka gives to the candy garden room in this 1964 novel. Mr. Sweet also sings while the children eat the candy, similar to Wonka singing "Pure Imagination" in the novel's 1971 film adaptation Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
Errors[]
When the twins are dropped off at home after the field trip, Lana is not seen getting off the bus or entering the house with Lola.
