• He is named after Cliff Sterrett, one of Chris Savino's artistic influences. His appearance is based on Kitty from his comic strip Polly and Her Pals.
  • He also somewhat resembles Felix the Cat.
• His appearance is somewhat reminiscent of old cartoons from the 1930s.
• He has a large black nose like Screwy Squirrel.
• Cliff heavily resembles Mooch, the feline character from the newspaper comic Mutts.
• He is the tallest of all the pets.
• Out of all the Loud family pets, he is the one who has the least amount of contact with any of the Loud kids.
• In "Game Boys", it was revealed that Cliff's full name is Clifford.
