His appearance is based on Kitty from his comic strip Polly and Her Pals. He also somewhat resembles Felix the Cat. His appearance is somewhat reminiscent of old cartoons from the 1930s. He has a large black nose like Screwy Squirrel. Cliff heavily resembles Mooch, the feline character from the newspaper comic, Mutts. He is the tallest of all the pets. Out of all the Loud family pets, he is the one who has the least amount of contact with any of the Loud kids.
