This page describes all of Clyde McBride's relationships with his family and friends.

Howard and Harold

Clyde loves his parents. They are much too overprotective of Clyde, since he is their only child. They tuck him in every night, are very attentive towards him, and always help him with school projects. As seen in "Roughin' It", they will not let Clyde out of their supervision unless he is at school or with Lincoln.

Clyde is not embarrassed of his dads' helicopter-parent tendencies. He seems to like it, even when they treat him like a baby (for example, Howard always spoon-feeds Clyde his food at dinner). It is revealed in "Lincoln Loud: Girl Guru" that Clyde hugs his dads very often, despite how it might seem unmanly to people like Lincoln.

Loud Family

Clyde has a nice relationship with all the Loud family siblings. He is the only boy in Royal Woods that tolerates Lincoln's sisters' antics. Because Clyde is an only child, he feels a little alone. This is why he usually spends his time with the Louds and is considered an honorary member of the family.

Lincoln

S1E20B Linc and Clyde holding hands

Lincoln and Clyde holding hands.

Clyde is Lincoln's best friend, so both of the boys are very close with each other like brothers. Clyde is endlessly loyal to Lincoln. The only thing about Clyde that annoys Lincoln is his obsession with Lori, but this never gets in the way of their friendship. Because of their closeness, Clyde has called Lincoln his brother-in-law (in the Polish dub).

Clyde accompanies Lincoln to the SMOOCH concert in "For Bros About to Rock". In "The Waiting Game", Lincoln and Clyde dance the tango together three times. They also hold hands twice. As seen in "Left in the Dark" and "Cover Girls", Lincoln and Clyde love to watch television together.

Aside from each other, Lincoln and Clyde do not have any real friends. Because of this, both Lincoln and Clyde are quick to get jealous when they see each other hanging out with other people. In "Changing the Baby", Clyde spies on Lincoln and thinks he is replacing him with Lily. This makes him sad and prompts him to dress up as a baby in an attempt to win Lincoln back. In the end, Lincoln tells Clyde that he will never replace him and that they are friends forever. In "Overnight Success", Lincoln and Clyde plan a sleepover. Lincoln gets mad when Clyde wants to spend time with his sisters and cancels their slumber party in an outburst. Later on, Lincoln realizes that Clyde is the only person in town who is not scared of the Loud House, so they make up and watch a movie with the entire family.

In "Two Boys and a Baby", Lincoln's whole life flashes before Clyde's eyes, showing that Clyde knows his best friend so well that he has practically lived the same life. Clyde has a tendency to unnecessarily hug Lincoln when he assumes the worst (for example, in "Making the Case").

According to the production crew, "Intern for the Worse", and the Cartoon Creator game, Lincoln and Clyde's friendship name is Clincoln McCloud. In "Intern for the Worse", they compete against each other for an unlimited free Flippee cup until they realized Flip was using them.

Lori

Clyde's Lori shrine.

Lori dislikes Clyde because of his obsession with her. Whenever he is around her, he involuntarily acts like a robot ("Does not compute! Circuit overload!") and bleeds from his nose.

In "Left in the Dark", Lincoln and Clyde decide that it is best to watch the show separately, because Clyde will obsess over Lori if he comes over. Later, Clyde asks Lincoln if his sister will be interested in dating younger men (obviously referring to himself) which Lori overhears and answers directly to him "never gonna happen."

In "Butterfly Effect", Lori dates Clyde after breaking up with Bobby. At the end of the episode, they can be seen riding a bike together, apparently having gotten married. This is used as a gag, happening only in what appears to be Lincoln's imagination, and is not mentioned in further episodes.

Clyde and Lori's couple name is either "Clori" or "Llyde", according to Clyde himself in "Chore and Peace", however, Lori told him that she returned with Bobby.

In "Two Boys and a Baby", Clyde tells Lily a story in which he is a knight who ends up living happily with "Princess Lori". In "Heavy Meddle", Clyde mentions that Lori gives great advice, such as when she told him to "never be himself" which he doesn't seem to mind.

In "A Fair to Remember", Lori tries to make Bobby jealous by spending the day with Clyde. Since he is unable to function around her, he is unconscious for the entire time. Lori ends up having to carry him around like a doll. She reunites with Bobby later on and thanks Clyde by sending him a gift box full of photos from their day out.

In "One Flu Over the Loud House", Clyde cries hysterically after learning that Lori has come down with the flu. He then makes it his mission to bring some of his dads' good food to the sick Louds.

Clyde also receives a kiss from Lori in the holiday special "11 Louds a Leapin'".

In "Change of Heart",

Leni

Leni offering to play with Clyde.

Clyde and Leni's relationship seems to be pretty good. In "Overnight Success", she asks for his help on a new facial cream she needs to test on, before trying it. She also seems to enjoy his company at the sleepover.

In "Along Came a Sister", Clyde recalls one time on Halloween when Leni mistook his spider costume for a real spider and sprayed him with bug spray. Of course, this was just her arachnophobia getting the better of her.

In "The Whole Picture", Leni cools Clyde down, after he passes out from seeing Lori, and tells Lisa not to say Lori's name so loud.

In "Kick the Bucket List", Leni offers to ride on the teeter-totter with Clyde, but he declines, as he wants to do it with Lincoln, by drawing him on a rock.

Luna

Luna and Clyde don't have many interactions, but they get along very well. In "Overnight Success", it is shown that he does enjoy listening to her playing rock music.

In "For Bros About to Rock", she teaches him, along with Lincoln, how to have a great first concert experience.

Luan

Clyde seems to enjoy Luan's jokes and sense of humor, unlike her siblings, judging by his comments in "Overnight Success" and "Lincoln Loud: Girl Guru".

However, Clyde is annoyed by Luan's jokes in "Kick the Bucket List".

As seen in "April Fools Rules", Luan has severely pranked Clyde in the past on April Fools' Day.

Lynn

Clyde joins Lynn for a game of hackysack.

She and Clyde have a good relationship.

In "Making the Case", Clyde was worried about Lynn accidentally stepping on the rake behind her which did result in a series of escalating mishaps.

In "Overnight Success", when Lynn offers Clyde to play with her in a simple game of hackysack, he enthusiastically accepts it and plays with her.

Lucy

Lucy and Clyde have a good relationship. As seen in "A Fair to Remember", Lucy often brings messages from Lori to Clyde (in order to keep him from seeing Lori and freaking out). Despite their friendship, Clyde inadvertently helps expose Lucy as the culprit who clogged the bathroom toilet in "Sleuth or Consequences".

In "Baby Steps", he helps Lucy come up with a rhyme for Lori, but it was a plan by Lincoln.

Lana

Lana thanks Clyde for saving her.

She and Clyde have a good relationship. In "Overnight Success", it is shown that Clyde enjoys playing with Lana's pets.

In "Baby Steps", Clyde rescues Lana and her rat from a tree. Lana then says he is a life saver.

In "Kick the Bucket List", she and Lola beat up Clyde after he accidentally destroys their sandcastle.

Lola

She and Clyde have a good relationship. In "Overnight Success", it is shown that Clyde enjoys Lola's makeovers.

In "Baby Steps", Clyde helps her put her seat belt on in her toy car, but this was planned by Lincoln.

In "Kick the Bucket List", she and Lana beat up Clyde after he accidentally destroys their sandcastle.

Lisa

Lisa seems to get along well with Clyde most of the time. She treats him similarly to how she treats her sisters. Lisa has used Clyde as a test subject and called him a fool in the past, but seems to like him nonetheless. Clyde doesn't mind being used as part of her experiments. In "Baby Steps", he ties her shoelaces and tells him he is a lifesaver.

In "Making the Grade", Lisa takes his seat next to Lincoln, leaving him heartbroken that he couldn't sit next to his best friend anymore.

Lily

Clyde and Lily get along very well. Just like Lincoln and his sisters, Clyde can't resist the baby of the family.

In "Changing the Baby", Clyde fears that Lily will replace him as Lincoln's new best friend, and tries to win Lincoln back, by dressing up as a baby. When he realizes how cute Lily is, Clyde admits that he can't stay mad at her, and decides to spend some time with her.

In "Overnight Success", Clyde was playing with Lily for a little while as Leni was shampooing his hair.

In "Two Boys and a Baby", Clyde helps Lincoln babysit Lily, thinking it would be an easy task only to find out that it's much more difficult than intended. Lily at one point tears off strands of Clyde's hair while she throws a tantrum.

In "Baby Steps", Lily goes to Clyde with a storybook and Clyde agrees as he reads to Lily about the story.

Bobby

S1E15B Clyde hates the Lobby ship

Clyde is dismayed when Bobby and Lori get back together.

Due to his obsession with Lori, Clyde despises her boyfriend Bobby. In "Two Boys and a Baby", Clyde's above-mentioned story ends with Bobby getting eaten by a monster, and in "Attention Deficit", Clyde mentions that on his volcano project, Bobby is inside the volcano boiling in hot lava. In "Save the Date", he repeatedly tries to humiliate Bobby to no avail.

Bobby does not feel the same way towards Clyde, as seen in "For Bros About to Rock" and "A Fair to Remember". In these episodes, Bobby acts kindly around him and also calls him "bro". At the end of the latter episode, Clyde performs a friendly handshake with Bobby, and does not act angrily around him (perhaps because he already fulfilled his dream of going on a date with Lori). This means that they could be on good terms.

However, in "11 Louds a Leapin'" Clyde hoped that Bobby got caught in Mr. Grouse's yard, and taken into his house forever. So, he likely still despises him.

In "Cheater by the Dozen", Clyde thinks that Bobby is cheating on Lori and he was very angry with him.

Haiku

In "Dance, Dance Resolution", Clyde covers for Lincoln by dancing with one of his four dates: Haiku, a friend of Lucy. Clyde admits to Haiku that he is smitten with "an older woman," Lori. Haiku explains to him that she is also hoping to enter an impossible relationship with a 200-year-old vampire boy. They smile and have a conversation about unrequited love. Haiku tells Lincoln later in the episode that she enjoys Clyde, because they "share the same pain". She and Clyde share a slow dance together at the end, all while looking at photos of their respective crushes.

In "Out of the Picture", Haiku agreed to let Clyde and Lincoln pretend to be members of the Morticians Club to get their group photo taken.

Penelope

In "Shell Shock", Clyde is partnered with Penelope to take care of an egg for the week. The two seem to have a good relationship with each other, as they are both willing to work together, and quickly get along well in taking care of their egg, which they name "Calliope".

Cleopawtra

Clyde apparently sees his beloved pet cat Cleopawtra as a sibling. She is easily angered, and can get dangerous around Clyde, which is why he has a time-out crate for her.
