"Clyde and His Dads" (also known as "Clyde's Two Dads") is an Internet-exclusive short, based on The Loud House.

Plot[]

Clyde and his dads plan an elaborate mission to try and wrangle their cats into pet carriers for a vet checkup.

Synopsis[]

At the McBride house, Clyde, Howard, and Harold are hiding in the attic. Clyde says that Cleopawtra and Nepurrtiti have a vet appointment today, and Howard and Harold are horrified, since the last time the two cats had a vet appointment, the task of getting them in their cage was a dangerous task. However, Clyde says he has a plan on catching the two. He suggest that they try to sneak up on the cats so they capture them, but that doesn't turn out well when Cleopawtra and Nepurrtiti notice them trying to capture them. The McBrides, with minor injuries, attempt to go with another plan, this time, by charging at them while they sleep. However, like the first plan, that plan doesn't go well. With even more injuries, Clyde presents his third plan: cucumbers. A cucumber is tossed at the cats, and the cats are horrified. Surrounded by cucumbers, the cats discover a box labeled "Cucumber Free Zone", and jump into it. Suddenly, it's revealed that it was a cage they jumped into. With the cats captured, the McBrides begin celebrating.

Sometime later, Clyde and Harold are hiding in the attic. Harold reveals that Clyde got the dates wrong: the cats don't have a vet appointment today, but Howard has an appointment at the dentist today. In the end, Clyde and Harold attempt to catch Howard, which proves to be just as hard as trying to catch the cats.

Trivia[]

  • This is the last short that aired in 2020.
  • The premise of this short is based on the comic "Clyde's Cat-astrophe" from the graphic novel There Will Be More Chaos.
    • The only differences between the two are the inclusion of the cucumber plan, and Howard is the one being chased at the end instead of Clyde.
  • An English version of the episode was released on YouTube in 2020.
  • This is the first and only short directed by Miguel Puga.
    • This also marks Clyde's first appearance ever, without Lincoln.
      • This is also the first short to not include any members of the Loud family at all. However, it does feature a main character due to the frequency of Clyde's appearances in the show.
Clyde and His Dads slide

He's really tiny, isn't he?

  • Lincoln appears on the title card as the string hanging from the projector screen.
  • The title card music for "Cheater by the Dozen" can be heard when the McBrides were trying to sneakily catch the cats.
  • Clyde's third plan is a reference to the trend that cats are highly terrified of cucumbers because of how they perceive them as snakes.
  • Howard is revealed to be dentophobic.
  • This is the final short to use the old title card design.
  • The McBride cats are revealed to be afraid of both cucumbers and going to the vet.
