[The episode opens on an Italian countryside. Lincoln pops up looking at something. He then holds up a postcard and examines it carefully] Lincoln: "Guys, We're in the right spot." [The photo on the postcard shows a small Italian village with the words 'Italia Napoli written on it. Lincoln moves the postcard to reveal the exact same village behind it, indicating that the Loud Family have found something that they were looking for. Lynn carries the rest of the family over a hill and puts them down] Lincoln:[to the viewers.] "Buongiorno from Naples, Italy. We drove our double decker bus all the way through England and then through France to get here." [As he narrates, the scene transitions into the same map screen from the previous episode; this time, their double decker bus takes them from London, England as they're crossing through France and passing by Monaco, before arriving to their current stop: Naples, Italy. Then the scene shifts back to normal as the map rolls back to Lincoln.] "And now, would you believe me if I said we did backpacking for miles to get pizza? Oh, you would. Well, anyway, Gus from the Games and Grub took this off the secret location of the world's best pizza, but these directions are just, a little hard to follow, And not just because it's written in Mariana sauce. [starts reading from the postcard] Once stop the tomato shaped hill, follow the smell of oregano for seven hundred pizza paddles, Confusing, right?" Rita: "Oh I smell the oregano" [starts sniffing] "It's coming from that way." Lynn Sr.: "One pizza paddle, Two pizza paddles, Three pizza paddles, Four pizza paddles, Five pizza paddles."
[Rita opens up a bush as she and the Loud's look through the opening] Rita:[sniffs] "It's coming from here, This must be it." [Cut to a small, beautiful looking cottage on a hill, with a goat eating some grass in the garden. The goat proceeds to bleat.] Luan: "This is where the world's best pizza is made? Maybe we misread the marinara." ???: "The sauce never lies." [The Loud's turn around in surprise to see an old lady standing behind them.] Nonna: "Benvenuti. I am Nonna Viola. And you must be the Louds." Lynn Sr.: "What? How did you know? Are you some kind of mind reader?" Nonna: "No, no, no. Your amigo, Signiore Gustavo Gamesngrub, is my pen pal. He said you must be stopping by." [She shows them a letter, also written in Mariana sauce, saying "STANNO ARRIVANDO I LOUDS!!". The sauce message then runs down the piece of paper] Nonna: "Oof, che schifo. I just wish he stuck to the pen part in pen pal." [Begins pushing the Loud's towards her house] "Please, come in, come in, per favore, You must be starving."
[At Nonna's place, she takes a freshly made pizza out of a brick oven and presents it to the Loud's. Rita and the kids (sans Lily) gasp in shock] Lynn Sr.: "Woah!" [Lily giggles] Nonna: "This pizza recipe is being in my family for centuries, [As she talks, the camera pans over to a series of paintings on the wall of different celebrities eating her pizza, which include Mick Swagger, a medieval knight, a snake and a robot.] "It was even Julius Caesar's favorite." [The camera then zooms in on Caesar's painting. She then places the pizza on the table and cuts it into thirteen slices, while throwing some basil leaves over it.] "Mangiate! Dig in!" [The Louds take a bite of their slices of Nonna's pizza. Immediately, they imagine themselves in a pizza like fantasy landscape. Lola and Lana fly on pieces of mozzarella, Luna and Luan bounce on the tomatoes while giggling, Lily holds a pizza with wings, Lisa is swimming in a lake of marinara sauce which Lincoln happily dives into as Leni sunbathes on mozzarella, Lynn relaxes on a floating basil leaf, Rita and Lynn Sr. relax on bits of mozzarella while being fanned by oregano plants, and finally, Lucy, Lori, and Lisa splash around in the marinara sauce lake. Back in reality, Lincoln swallows his bite and snaps out of his trance.] Lincoln: "This is the best pizza I've ever had." [Leni swallows her bite... and suddenly starts speaking Italian] Leni: "Questa pizza è deliziosa! Gli ingredienti italian su piene del sapore." [The other Louds are completely stupefied] Lisa: "Fascinating. It appears the taste experience was so stimulating, it rewired Leni's brain, making her fluent in Italian." Lincoln:[starts begging to Nonna] "You have to tell us how you make that pizza, Nonna." Nonna: "Hmmm... I don't know." [The rest of the siblings (sans Lynn and Lisa) also start begging to Nonna] Luan: "Please, Please, Please." Lily: "Please, Please, Please." Luna: "Please, Please." Lola: "I'll never ask for anything ever again probably." [Lynn then joins her siblings] Lynn: "We can do this all day." Lynn Sr.: "It's unfortunately true." Nonna: "Hmmm, Okay, I'll tell you what, I'll teach you how to make my pizza, if you help me gather ingredients, I just ran out after making your pies. deal?" [The Loud siblings cheer.] Nonna: "Meet me here tomorrow when the big dough rises." [The Louds are confused.] Nonna: "That's pizza talk for sunrise." [Then, Rita notices something on the plate] Rita: "Ooh, I found some leftover crust." [Then Loud kids pounce on their mother to fight over the leftover pizza crust.]
[Outside Nonna's home, Nonna is giving the Louds their first task.] Nonna: "Okay. The first ingredient I need is wheat. Harvest as much as you can." [The goat bleats] "Then, bring it back to the farm, where I'll be waiting. Capiche?" [The Louds nod] "Wonderful! Stupendo!" [Leaves] [But the Louds are also worried.] Lynn: "I don't know anything about harvesting wheat." Luan: "Me neither." Lincoln: "Come on, guys. We can figure this out. We just need something sharp." [On cue, Lucy pulls out a scythe, surprising everyone, including the goat, who backs away out of fear.] Lincoln:[disturbed] "Please tell me you knew we'd be harvesting wheat today." Lucy:[clearly fibbing] "Uh, sure..." [Lucy gets to work in slicing the wheat, while the rest collect whatever she cuts up. Suddenly, a large meatball hits Lori in the head.] Lori: "Ow! What was that?" [Another one hits Leni in the cheek, making her yelp and knocking her silly.] Lana:[Runs up to the meatball and grabs it] "Whoa. It rains meatballs in Italy?!" [Leni gets up and picks her shades up] "Let's move here!" [Gets hit by another] "Oh!" [The Louds then notice a storm of meatballs as it rains down on them.] Lincoln:[Notices something and gasps] "Look!" [The meatballs are revealed to be launched by a slingshot-wielding old man riding in a cart that's being pulled by two dogs. Another meatball bounces off Lincoln's head as Lynn slides in.] Lynn: "I'll cover you! Just get that wheat!" [Another meatball knocks Lily away.] Lily: "Ow!" [The Louds run for it as Lynn leaps in and gobbles up some more meatballs. Lucy proceeds to slice more wheat and pass it to the rest of the Louds, and with each slice, Lynn jumps in and gobbles up a meatball. She then gobbles up 3 more as Lola runs by.] Lynn:[Gulps as she notices something] "He's reloading with cannolis! RUN!" [The Louds do just that as a storm of cannoli rains down on them.]
[Back inside, Nonna is watering some plants when the Louds arrive with all the wheat they could harvest.] Luna:[Smacks a meatball out of her ear] "Nonna, what's with the unhinged oldie hurling meatballs at us?" Nonna: "Oh, Mama Mia! That must've been Old Man Giacalone. He guards my wheat field. I guess I forgot to tell him an American family will be helping me today." [Sighs] "Phew, silly me! It won't happen again. Prometo." [Lynn is full from eating the food that said old man was flinging at her and her family.] Nonna: "Your next ingredient; tomatoes. Will be meatball free." Lincoln: "Great, so where are they? I don't see a tomato patch anywhere." [Nonna then gives a little smirk]
[The tomatoes in question are found growing on the side of a cliff. Lynn Sr. is hoisted down to grab them via a rope harness, while the rest of the family (sans Lily) are pulling on the rope.] Rita: "Whatever you do, don't look down!" [Lynn Sr. then looks down and sees how far up he is from the village as he starts to panic. But he eventually calms down... only to then panic again, then calms down again... then panic for a third time before calming down a third time. This eventually annoys Lola and Rita] Lola: "Just grab the tomatoes and THROW 'EM!!" Lynn Sr.:[Gulps, but eventually toughens up] "FOR NONNA'S PIZZA!!" [Lynn Sr. grabs the tomatoes and throws them over the cliffside as it whizzes right past Lola, Lily and Rita, much to the formers suprise] Lynn:[After seeing the tomatoes fly towards her] "I got it! Me! Me! Me! Me!" [she jumps up and grabs the tomatoes, in which she then lands on her back. She then begins to do a victory after having caught the tomatoes] "Yeah, baby! Uh-huh! Uh-huh! Uh-huh! Tomato spike!" [throws the tomatoes on the ground] [Lynn's smile fades upon realizing what she just did. Leni, Lily and Rita look at her in shock while Lola looks at her in anger.] Lynn Sr.:[having just climbed back up the cliff] "Glad I never have to do that again." [chuckles] [Lynn Sr.'s cheery demeanor disappears as soon as he sees what Lynn has just done. This makes him faint, which causes him to fall off the cliff, but luckily Rita manages to snap out of her trance and grab the rope to save him just in time.]
[Back at Nonna's place, she is feeding some chickens. Then Lincoln clears his throat to grab her attention.] Nonna: "Oh." [She is surprised to see the Louds standing right in front of her with another batch of tomatoes] Lincoln: "We got the tomatoes. Can we learn the recipe now?" Nonna: "Hmmm. Grazie, but I still need one ingredient. Milk from my cow, Burrata. She produces latte that makes the tastiest cheese. I must warn you though, Burrata is a little uh... al dente around the edges."
[The scene fades to a shot of Burrata in question, who looks incredibly angry and fierce, much to the fear of the Louds... except a rather confident Lana.]" Lana: "I've milked cows before. This should be a cinch. You just gotta get to know her." [As she approaches Burrata, she begins to speak in Italian sounding moos] "Moo. Mamma-Moo." [Unfortunately, Burrata kicks Lana into a tree, causing her to land in some mud] Lana: "Well, got to know her. She doesn't like tourists." [Burrata aggressively eats a rock to show that she is not a force to be reckoned with. Suddenly, Lynn Sr. notices a cowbell wrapped around the belligerent bovine's neck'] Lynn Sr: "Ah! I have an idea!"
[Lana has now managed to successfully milk a now peaceful Buratta. It turns out that Lynn Sr. is playing a melody with a set of cowbells to soothe Burrata.] Lynn Sr. "I used to play this one to soothe you guys to sleep". [It seems to have worked its magic on some of the siblings too, as Lincoln, Luna, Luan and Lola are all sleeping on one another, while Lori is sleeping standing up, all while Rita looks on with a smile on her face.] Lana:[Having finished milking Burrata] "Milk secured, Dad."
[Back at Nonna's she is having a snooze, when Lincoln placing two buckets of milk on the ground, waking her up] Nonna: "Mamma Mia, bravi, I'm impressed. I just bring these buckets inside and then, it's pizza making time." Lincoln:[gasps] "Did you hear that? Pizza making time! I can almost taste the soft crust, oh the ooey-gooey cheese..." [He and the others start to fantasize about the pizza] Nonna: "Oh, sorry to burst your pizza bubble" [The Louds snap out of their trance] "I forgot I need one last, very last thing." [The Louds groan in frustration] Lana: "Come on!!" Lola: "Aww, man!" Lincoln:[groans] "Dang it!" Nonna: "I promise, this is the finale." Lola:[holding in her anger] "You're lucky I'm such a patient and understanding person!" Lily: "What we get now?" Nonna: "I cook my pizzas on special flat stones found only on the top of Mount Vesuvio" [camera pans over the Mount Vesuvius] "I just need one stone, from the summit." Rita: "Uhh, come again?" Nonna: "I know it sounds dangerous, and that's because... it is. The ground is rocky, the air is thinner than good crust and it is a volcano, so it could go BOOM!" [The Louds gasp and scream in terror] Nonna: "I understand if you don't want to go, so never mind. Thank you for coming. Have a beautiful life. Ciao!" [suddenly leaves] Lynn: "I didn't take a hundred meatballs to the dome to give up now! Are we doing this or what?!! Lynn Sr.:[anxious] "Aah... I don't know. Lisa, what are the chances it erupts?" Lisa: "Hmmm... Nearly... zero percent!" Lynn Sr.: "Hah, I was really hoping for a solid zero there, but, I'll guess I'll take it." Louds (Except Lynn Sr.): "FOR NONNA'S PIZZA!!"
[On the summit of Mount Vesuvius, Lincoln starts looking around.] Lincoln: "We're getting close. Keep your eyes pealed for a large flat rock." Lucy: "Like the one you're standing on?" [Lincoln realizes he's standing on a large flat rock... that's also very hot as it starts to burn his feet] Lincoln: "Ooh! Ow! Ow! Hot! Hot!" [Lucy opens up Lincoln's backpack, as he places the rock inside it, then he closes the pack up and puts it on. All seems well... until the entire volcano begins to shake startling the Louds. As the volcano shakes, smoke starts pouring out from the top.] Leni: "Mamma Mia! Il Vulcano sta pur erutarre!" Lisa: "She's saying it's gonna blow!" [Mount Vesuvius then erupts as lava begins to flow. The Louds run away from the rushing lava river which destroys the tourist walkway. Luan, Lana and Lola (and the other Louds offscreen) then find themselves on small rocks, surrounded by hot lava.] Lana: "This is just like when we play The Floor is Lava, except the floor IS actually lava!" [This gives Lynn, who is on a different rock, an idea] Lynn: "Oh... GAME ON!!" [Lynn then starts literally playing The Floor is Lava for real, as she starts jumping from rock to rock in order to make her way down the volcano. First she lands on Lori's rock, nearly knocking her off] Lori: "HEY!" [Lynn then jumps on top of Lincoln's head, then jumps onto Rita's rock, nearly knocking her off, then jumps off] Rita: "LYNN!" [Lynn jumps onto another rock, before jumping onto a rock with a larger area, nearly losing her balance in the process] Lynn: "Yes, I'm in first!" [The rest of her family then all land on the rock right behind her. It looks like the impact nearly causes them all to fall in, but they manage to regain their balance as they all sigh in relief. But they eventually lose balance and fly off the rock, but luckily they land on a cliff just below. The family have managed to avoid the lava, but suddenly they see a giant flaming ball heading their way] Lincoln: "GIANT FLAMING BOULDER!!" [The Louds manage to avoid the fireball just in time and make their way further down the volcano. But the fireball appears right above them, but it thankfully manages to miss them as it plunges down below, but the Louds do get covered in ash as a result.] Rita: "Is everyone okay?" Luan:[Revealed to have lost her eyebrows from the boulder's fire] "Other than having my eyebrows singed off, yes." [She takes some ash off of Luna's helmet and draws some "angry" eyebrows on herself] Lincoln: "Eh, they'll grow back. The important thing is... [holds out the flat rock from his backpack] We got the stone!" [Lori, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lana, Lisa, Lily and Lynn Sr. all cheer in unison. Lynn then joins her brother for a victory dance] Lynn: "WOO-WOO! Louds for the win!!" [Lincoln and Lynn chest bump one another, but unfortunately Lynn hits Lincoln too hard, sending him flying, causing him to break the stone in the process. This leaves the rest of the family shocked.] Lynn:[upon realizing what she's done] "Whoops." [Lori, Luna, Luan, Lana, Lisa, Lily and Lynn Sr. all groan in disappointment]
[Back at Nonna's, she is busy picking pink roses from a rose bush, when she gets a surprise] Nonna: "Oh, la familia Loud. I thought you went home." [she finds the Louds exhausted and covered in soot] "What happened to you?" Leni: "Abbiamo scalato il vulcano e raggiuta la cima, poi il vulcano fato. BOOM!" Nonna: "You climbed a volcano and reached the top before it went BOOM?!!" Lynn Sr: "Oh it boomed, lady. It BOOMED!" Nonna: "And you still tried to get my stone?" Lynn: "We had it too! But then it broke. Freak chest bump accident, it's nobody's fault." Lincoln: "Sorry we failed you, Nonna. We're just gonna pack up and go home." [The Louds walk away in disappointment, but Nonna feels bad about what has just happened] Nonna: "Wait, wait wait." [The Louds return in surprise] Nonna: "Follow me." [The Louds are confused]
[Nonna opens up some barn doors to the Louds as they gasp in shock to find Burrata wearing an apron rolling out some pizza dough on a flat rock. The very flat rock they were looking for. Burrata stops preparing the dough after seeing the Louds in front of her.] Lori: "What?!! You had the stone this whole time?!! What gives?!!" Nonna: "Well, to tell you the truth, I never intended to give the recipe to you, or anybody. My family has guarded it for centuries. It's very precious to us. But after seeing how much you appreciate it, and how far you'd go to get it, I am going to break my rule this one time." [The Louds then cheer as a way to thank her] Nonna: "Now everyone, grab some dough. Let's make a pizza!" [The Louds enter the barn in excitement]
[Inside the barn, Lana and Lola are rolling out some pizza dough, while Leni attempts to toss an already flattened pizza crust, only for her to accidentally toss it away and land on something.] Leni: "Oh, mamma mia" [The pizza dough had landed on Rita's face] "Mi dispiace." Lynn Sr.: "Who's ready for some pizza making music?" [Lynn Sr. and Burrata play some music on their cowbells together, as the episode ends]
