[Carlota walks into Mariella's store, walking a dog and with clothes all over her face. Carlota pops a box onto the front desk where the employee is] Employee: "Thanks, Carlota!" [Carlota gets the clothes off her face and onto the floor] Tailor: "Thanks, Carlota!" [Carlota gives a woman her dog] Woman: "Thanks, Carlota!" Carlota: Here's your flat light, Mariella. [Mariella turns around] Mariella: Marvelous! [Grabs her coffee] Carlota: "You have a 10:00 AM call with Guido. Oh, and I thought this vintage fabric would be perfect for your collection!" Mariella:[gasps] "It's divine! I must say, You've been a star intern, Carlota. In fact, I'd like to put you in charge of my show for fashion week!" Carlota:[cheers] "Yes! It's such an honor coming from Mariella Moss, the most renowned fashion designer ever!" Mariella: "Oh, please! Well, it is accurate though." [giggles and walks to a white board] "Anyway, I'm envisioning a love letter to Great Lakes City in spring!" [Puts down the coffee on the desk] "Bright colors, bold prints, hot dogs dragged through the garden... Actually, that's my lunch order." Carlota: "Already on it!" [Serves Mariella a hot dog on a plate] Mariella:[takes a bite of the hot dog] "My fashion shows are a lot of work. So, you'll have to hire another intern to help you with everything." [Somebody holds out high heels to Mariella, while another gives other high heels] "Hm..." [Points to the pink ones and takes another bite of her hotdog] Carlota: "Oh, okay! Sure! Actually, I know just the person!"
[Apartment 2B. Carlota is calling Leni] Leni: "EEEE!! I'm so excited!" Carlota: "Working together is gonna be great, Leni! Our day starts at 9 AM, but Mariella gets here at 7:00, so I'll see you at 6:30 sharp." Leni:[gasps] "I'd better leave now." [hangs up] [Carl and Sergio are playing a video game] Carl: "Bravo. You just hired your replacement." Carlota: "Uh, what are you talking about, Carl?" Carl: "Leni's, like, the most stylish person we know. She's gonna crush it." Carlota: "And the problem is?" Carl: "What if she's too good? Better than you? You can kiss your internship..." [blows a kiss] "...adios." Carlota: "Uh, I'm a rock star at work, and Mariella loves me, so you can relax. I'm not gonna be outshined." Carl: "Whatever you say." [Just then Sergio beats him] Sergio:[squawks] "You lose!" [does a victory dance] "Yeah! Go, Sergio! Go, Sergio!"
[Carlota is showing Leni around] Carlota: "So this is it. We have the design room over there, and over here, we have the accessory wall." Leni:[gasps, wide-eyed] "OMGosh! I thought these only existed in my dreams!" Carlota: "I'll give you a minute." [walks away] [Leni imagines herself spinning around giggling with boots, shoes, necklaces and other sorts of clothing pouring down around her. Cut back to reality, where Leni is still spinning around giggling with Carlota standing beside her] Leni: "Wow." [sighs] "Okay, I'm done." Carlota:[Hands Leni a book that reads INVITES] "We have a ton to do, like picking up fabric and mailing out the invites to the show." Leni: "Wow, even the envelopes are stylish." [Leni holds out a pink envelope with the letter M on it, with a hat on the letter M] Carlota: "You'd better get going. It's nonstop around here so you'll have to be fast on your feet.
Mariella: "Your fabric has that wow factor, but the design's... missing something." Leni: "Woah!" [Leni is roller-skating around] Carlota: "Leni! What's with the wheels?!" Leni: "You said I needed to be fast on my feet. Carlota: "Mariella, this is Leni Loud, our new intern." Leni: "OMGosh! It is such an honor to meet you!" [Leni yelps then crashes with Carlota gasping] [Leni is on the floor, dizzy. The roller skate has gone onto the head of the dress] Carlota: "I am so sorry. I can fix that!" Mariella: "Wait! Leave it!" [Goes over to the model while Leni is standing up] "Footwear, as a hat! Yes!" [looks in delight] "That's the playful spirit this collection needs! I like your approach, Leni. I think I'll go crash into all my designs!" [crashes into one of her design's] "Genius! [laughs]
Carlota: "Going with the big city theme, I think that it might be fun to serve Bruno's mini hot dogs!" Mariella:: [with hearts in her eyes] "Oh, Carlota! You know pork-based products are my weakness!" [Gets a stain on her shirt] "But they're also messy." Leni: "I know what to do! I read an article on Sixteen 1/2 Magazine called "Sixteen 1/2 Life Hacks for Condiment Stains"! Hack number 5 said you can get ketchup stains out with sparkling water!" [Puts some sparkling water on Mariella] Mariella: "Good thinking, Leni! We'll keep the hot dogs, but serve sparkling water along with them!" [Takes Leni away] "So, tell me those other fifteen and a half hacks!" [Carlota frowns, and eats a hot dog. But gets a stain on her dress, and groans]
[Later, Carlota and Mariella are near the fashion runway] Carlota: "Obviously, we want a big finale for the show. I'm thinking something super dramatic. Picture it: the lights dim..." [She's interrupted by Bitsy trumpeting. Leni is revealed to be riding her.] "Leni, what are you doing?!" Leni: "You said we needed a big finale!" Mariella: "An elephant on a runway?!" Carlota: "OK, I had nothing to do with-" Mariella: "It's perfect! It's never been done!" [Bitsy lowers Leni to the ground with her trunk] "We'll be the talk of fashion week." [gets grabbed by the elephant] This is the kind of out-of-the-box thinking we need here at Mariella Moss!" [gets on Bitsy's back] "Good work, Leni!" [She rides off laughing. Carlota walks away in confusion but steps in a pile of elephant dung and groans] Carlota: "Darn it." Leni: "Ugh. I'll see if Sixteen 1/2 Magazine has any tips on removing elephant oopsies." [Carlota growls]
[Carlota is serving hot dogs at apartment 2B] Carlota: "I mean, roller skates and an elephant?! I can't believe Mariella is so into all of Leni's wacky ideas!" [Carl and Sergio are eating the hot dogs] Carl: "Cheer up. It's not too late." [eats a hot dog] "You can still get rid of her." Carlota: "No way. I can't fire Leni. She's my friend." Carl: "Who said fire? Just send her on an errand--a long errand. Once she's out of the way, you'll be back in charge." Carlota: "OK, that is so evil it's kind of brilliant. But I could never do that to her. Plus, I need her help. There's a ton of work to do." Carl: "Who needs Leni when you've got the dream team right here?" [points at himself and Sergio] Carlota: "No thanks. I'll just have to step up my game to really impress Mariella." [gets a phone call] "Speaking of..." [picks up] "Hi, Mariella!" Mariella: "Carlota, you're a genius!" Carlota: "Oh, uh, I don't know about that-" Mariella: "For bringing me Leni!" [Carlota is surprised] "She really gets my quirky vision for this fashion show, so I've decided to put her in charge of it." Carlota: "Oh, um, no, but-" Mariella: "I knew you'd understand. The show comes first. I'll need you to assist her with anything she needs, hm? Ciao!" [hangs up] [Carlota furiously slams her hands on the dining table in front of Sergio and Carl.] Carlota: "Tell me more about this long errand."
[Carlota enters the fashion runway room and finds furniture set up everywhere] Carlota: "Leni!" [Leni is setting up bunk beds] Leni: "Oh! Hey, Carlota!" Carlota: "OK, I'm not even gonna ask why there's a bunk bed here." Leni: "OK. Then I won't tell you that we need to squeeze in 300 guests, and you can fit way more people onto a bunk bed than a chair." Carlota: "Right. Anyway, now that you're in charge, it is your job to pick up the accessories. They are super valuable. Priceless, really, from a very exclusive boutique." [hands Leni a card] Leni: "Ooh!" Carlota: "Yeah, I'd do it myself, but only head interns are allowed." Leni:[reading the card] "657th Street? Sounds kinda far." Carlota: "Then you'd better get going! Buh-bye!" [shoves Leni out the exit door] [Carlota keeps the door shut and looks at a clothes rack. Carl and Sergio peek out of the rack and give Carlota a thumbs-up, with Carlota sheepishly returns] Mariella: "Carlota! I need you!" [Carlota smiles] "...to tell me where Leni is." [Carlota's expression changes] "I need to know whether the rollerskate goes on the left or right side of my head." Carlota: "Oh, uh, Leni had to jump out on a fashion emergency that might take a while." Mariella: "Then it looks like you're back in charge with a lot to do, including getting me another hot dog, stat! As for the rollerskate, I'm just gonna have to take a fashion leap!" [leaps away] [Carl and Sergio walk up to Carlota, Sergio wearing very tall heels] Sergio:[squawks] "Can I keep these?" [collapses] [Carlota groans]
[Later, Carlota escorts Carl and Sergio to a pile of fabric] Carlota: "Okay, I have to finish ten looks in under an hour, so just cut the fabric following the pattern." [Hands Carl scissors] "I'll be back in a minute." [Leaves. Carl and Sergio look at each other and shrug. Carlota returns later] "Hey, how's it going, and-- Ah!" [Shocked by what she sees. Carl and Sergio have made a female El Falcón costume from the material] Carl:[Places the cowl on] "Meet my wings of justice." [Carlota groans]
[Next, Carlota takes them to the empty refreshments tables] Carlota: "Okay, just set out the food and refreshments and make it look nice." [Carlota walks off] Carl:[To Sergio] "You grab the drinks, I'll handle the food." [Sergio salutes. Sergio tries to pick up the very heavy sparkling waters. He gets two and flies to the table. But drops them so hard they start fizzing. One blasts Sergio, and the other gets Carl, who is not happy about it] "Hey!" [Shakes up another bottle and aims it at Sergio. Sergio ducks, just as Carlota returns to check up on them. Carlota ends up taking the sparkling water in the face. She starts regretting letting them help]
[Finally she has them at the DJ Booth] Carlota: "For this runway rehearsal I picked out some nice chill music that I know Mariella will love. All you have to do is press play. Got it?" Carl: "Relax, I'm a professional DJ." [Carlota backs away, part of her still thinking Carl will somehow mess this up too] Sergio:[Squawks] "Hit it!" Carl:[Presses play] "Drop the beat!" [The models walk out at some slow beats play. Carl and Sergio are not amused] Sergio:[Squawks] "Snooze fest!" [Starts pressing buttons] "DJ Sergio in the heey-ouse!" [The music starts to pick up the pace and the models do the same] Carl: "Hey! I'm DJ-ing!" [They start fighting over control of the music, pulling cranks and dials left and right. The lights start going crazy and the models can't even see where they're going. The models start crashing into each other and end up in a pile on the runway. Angry they all storm out] Green Dress Model: "Ugh!" Floral Skirt Model: "Never in my life!" Yellow Dress Model: "I'm outta here!" [Carlota comes to the door and watches them leave] Carlota: "Wait! I'm so sorry. Please don't go." [With no other option, Carlota speed dials her last hope] "Come on, Leni, pick up." [No answer. Carlota groans] "She's not answering! I really messed up." [The two circus clowns she hired to fill in for Leni approach her] "And Leni's the only one who can help me fix this. We have to find her." Carl: "How? You sent her to an imaginary address." Carlota: "We'll have to search the whole city."
[Later, the mercado van is barreling down the streets] Carlota:[Sticks her head out the window] "Leni!" [Goes back in, slowing the van down, starting to lose hope] "Leni!" [She can't find Leni] "Ah, what's the use? We've been driving around forever and we're almost out of time." [Stops the van] "I give up. At this point, it would take a miracle to--" Leni: "Hi, Carlota." [Leni is right outside the van window] Carlota:[Gasps] "Leni." [Leni enters] Leni: "OMGosh, I'm so sorry this is taking so long. I can't find that boutique you sent me to. GPS keeps directing me to a dumpster." Carlota: "You have nothing to apologize for. There's no boutique, I sent you on a wild goose chase to get you out of the studio because I was jealous of your relationship with Mariella." [sighs] "I'm really sorry. I wouldn't blame you if you never spoke to me again." Leni:[Heartbroken by the betrayal] "OMGosh." [There is an awkward silence] Sergio: "Awkward." [Carl silently coughs] Carlota: "I messed things up so badly that we can't even do the show now. But don't worry, I'll tell Mariella it's all my fault. She'll definitely fire me but," [sighs] "I deserve it." Leni: "You know, there's still twenty minutes 'till the show. I think we can save it." Carlota: "Wait, you still wanna work with me?" Leni: "Of course. What you did wasn't very nice, but you're my friend and I forgive you. So, what do we need?" Carl: "For starters: food, beverages, music, clothes..." Leni: "Not a problem." Carl: "...And models." Leni: "Also not a problem. I've got an idea." [Holds up a high five] "Go Team Carleni!" [Carlota is touched to hear that and returns the high five]
[That night, the lights are shining at the studio. The audience is cheering as the runway spotlights illuminate Lalo and Ronnie Anne. She rides Lalo down the runway. Vito and Hector are also playing models. Next down the runway are Bobby, CJ, and Frida, who take poses for the audience. Maria later takes her pose and makes room for Bitsy, who Mariella is riding. The crowd loves the show] Mariella: "Oh!" [Laughs, flattered] "Thank you!"
[Later, Team Carleni is enjoying the hotdogs when Mariella approaches] Mariella: "Oh, brava, Carlota! This was an amazing show. You've exceeded my expectations." [giggles] Carlota: "I can't take all the credit, Mariella. This was actually a team effort." Mariella: "Oh, well, you do make a great team. I'm officially hiring both of you. I want Team Lenota for my next show!" [Bitsy trumpets] "Ooh, gotta go wrangle the elephant." [Goes to do so] Carlota:[Thinks about the name] "Team Lenota, that works too." [The girls giggle] Sergio:[Squawks, back in the very tall heels] "Time to give the people what they want." [Stumbles again, falls off the stage, and lands on a pile of elephant dung] "Someone needs to clean up this elephant oopsie!" [Team Lenota laughs again. The end.]
