Unlike the Nickelodeon Super Brawl web games, the game is a platform fighter, akin to the Super Smash Bros. series and Brawlhalla. Following 2020's Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix, this is the second appearance of The Loud House in a console video game, as well as the second time in two years The Loud House gets depicted in a console game.
As part of the Universe Pass, more fighters were released throughout 2022 as post-launch DLC, akin to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighter Pass DLC. Two fighters, Garfield and Shredder, were made available for free. Five DLC characters were released.[5]
So far, two characters have been released as free DLC and three characters as paid DLC:
Tremorton Joyride (My Life as a Teenage Robot; Universe Pass)
Duck, Duck, Pie! (The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius; Universe Pass)
Hardcore Chores (Rocko's Modern Life; Universe Pass)
Trivia[]
Game[]
The voice actor of Zim from Invader Zim, Richard Horvitz, has also confirmed that he did not voice Zim for this game and he is not sure if the game even contains voice acting.[6][7] Joel Nyström, CEO of developer Ludosity, has since stated that "as we continue to build the Nick All-Star Brawl franchise, we will be reviewing all options, which may include adding VO down the road."[5]
However, modders have taken to modding the PC version of the game to add voices, including Lincoln and Lucy.
On December 15, voice acting was confirmed to come in a future update.[8] Said update would be released on June 7, 2022, with Bentley Griffin and Jessica DiCicco reprising their roles as Lincoln and Lucy respectively.[9]
The game also uses the 1987 versions of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rather than their 2012 designs from the CGI-animated series. However, the 1987 version was not produced by nor currently owned by Nickelodeon.
In addition, due to Nickelodeon acquiring the Garfield intellectual property, this is the first time he appears in a Nickelodeon game.
Development[]
The game's developer, Ludosity, has had experience in working on the platform fighter genre with Slap City.
Rollback netcode (as the Good Game Peace Out middleware), which has been featured in fighting games since 2008, may be present.
This is the first Nickelodeon fighting game on home consoles, the first on the ninth-generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix is a backwards-compatible title), and the first to include upcoming downloadable content.
The PC, PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game features achievements/trophies. The icon for some of them depict The Loud House characters, even those not playable in the game:
"I Only Know How to Give 110%" features Lincoln;
"Unleash the DOOM!" features Lucy;
and "King of Sportz" features Lily (in her pre-Season 5 appearance).
An achievement is titled "Better than the Turkey Jerkies!", referencing the sports team that appeared in "Net Gains".
The characters featured in the background of the Loud House stage feature Lynn, Lola and Lily.
Lincoln uses Lily's diapers and Bun-Bun in an attack.
In one of his intros for the Arcade game mode, Lincoln mentions Ronnie Anne.
Lincoln and Lucy's alternate outfits are based off "Get the Message" (Lincoln's beanie) and "The Green House" (Lucy's sunglasses), respectively.
In the game files, screenshots of various Loud House episodes and comics, most from each respective media's galleries, can be seen, including:[10]
The pets with the last slice of pizza (from "Slice of Life");
The siblings (along with Bobby) having their pool party (from "Linc or Swim"; seems to be cropped as the original image depicts Lisa, Lily, Lucy and Cliff in full);
