"Force of Habits" is the fourth episode of the seventh season, and the two-hundred-ninety-ninth episode of The Loud House.
When Leni mentions an annoying habit of her new boyfriend Gavin, Lori and Luna start to notice their partners' habits.
Synopsis[]
Arriving back home, Leni discovers Lori being hugged by an over-emotional Lynn Sr., as Lori has decided to spend the weekend home. After getting her older sister out of their father's grasp, they make their way to their room, where Lori says that she came home because she has a date with Bobby at Jean Juan's French Mex Buffet. After Luna joins in on the conversation (as she has a movie date with Sam at the same time), Leni tells them about her date with Gavin at the skate rink, where she states that while they had a good time, she noticed that Gavin has the annoying habit of snorting every time he laughs. When Leni asks her sisters if their significant others have any annoying habits, they deny, claiming they're too perfect to have those kinds of flaws. Because of this, Leni decides to consult her Sixteen 1/2 magazine.
Later that day, Lori and Luna are on their dates with Bobby and Sam, respectively. During Lori's date with Bobby at Jean Juan's, she discovers that Bobby has a habit of singing about his current situation, whether it's deciding what to eat or learning more about each other. During Luna's date with Sam at the theater, she discovers that Sam has a habit of being indecisive, as she's incapable of making up her mind on what kind of snack to buy for the movie, causing them to be prohibited from entering their theater room due to being late. Later, after their dates, Lori and Luna arrive home in bad spirits due to their dates' annoying habits. Leni reveals that, after reading her magazine, if their dates have annoying habits, they must help them get rid of them. Agreeing with this plan, Lori, Leni and Luna reveal to their dates the next day about their habits, making Bobby, Gavin and Sam say that they'll try not to do them. Later that day, as Lori, Leni and Luna eat at Lynn's Table, the three sisters believe they've accomplished their goal of fixing their dates, and make plans for their triple date at Dairyland tomorrow.
The next day, Lori, Leni, Luna, Bobby, Gavin and Sam arrive to Dairyland, ready to have fun on their triple date. During the visit, Bobby, Gavin and Sam tell their dates that, because they help them get over their annoying habits, they want to help them get rid of their own, like Lori saying literally in all of her sentences, Leni constantly taking selfies, and Luna having jam sessions at random times. However, Lori, Leni and Luna take extreme offense to these statements, and when the three couples eat lunch at a table, their not-so-subtle anger is clearly obvious. Realizing their dates are angry with them, Bobby, Gavin and Sam accuse them of hypocrisy, asking the three Loud girls why they get to do their annoying habits while they're not allowed to do theirs. After being told that they just wanted to help out, since they help them, Lori, Leni and Luna refuse to admit that they have a problem, prompting the insulted Bobby, Gavin and Sam to call off the date and leave (only for Lori, Leni and Luna to state that they're leaving first).
Later, as Lori, Leni and Luna angrily ride the Seas of Cheese alone, they soon realize that, because they were hurt by their dates telling them about their annoying habits, they unknowingly hurt them when they told them about their habits. This causes the now guilty Loud sisters to state that they need to apologize to them. Unfortunately, the ride breaks down, and they're temporarily immobile for the time being. Just as they question how they can get out, they suddenly hear their dates' voices; they're revealed to be in the second boat behind them. After getting their attention, the three sisters apologize for their behavior, saying that they were so focused on their negatives, they forgot about their positives, and that they're already special with their annoying habits. Bobby, Gavin and Sam accept their dates' apology, and decide to resume their triple date by climbing onto the boat between them. However, the combined weight of everyone on the boat causes it to fall over, but the three couples don't mind, as they're having fun.
This episode reveals that Leni is still in a relationship with Gavin following the events of "Food Courting".
This makes him her second love interest to remain in a relationship with her for more than one episode, after Chaz, who was revealed to be dating her in "Really Loud Music" after their first interaction in "L Is for Love".
Coincidentally, all of the episodes mentioned were written by Kevin Sullivan.[note 1]
They both involve characters acknowledging that the ones close to them have annoying habits (in "Undie Pressure", it's the Loud kids and their habits, and in "Force of Habits", it was Lori, Leni and Luna's respective partners).
They both have the character(s) who initially complained about the others' annoying habits realizing they have been thinking hypocritically when they tell them to stop with their habits, while the one(s) who complained are allowed to do theirs.
"The Taunting Hour", as both involve a character pointing out something bothersome, leading to their peers realizing the same issue present in their daily lives. The difference is that Lynn drove Lincoln to point out that the other Louds had critics, while Leni was directly responsible for Lori and Luna eventually discovering that their partners had annoying habits.
Luna is revealed to be able to identify Lori by the sound of her squealing.
This is the first episode since "Purrfect Gig" in which Luna makes a song reference.
This episode reveals that, up until Lori and Luna discovered Bobby and Sam's singing and indecisiveness respectively, they didn't find any of their respective lovers' habits annoying.
Innuendo: The caramel apples Leni and Gavin bought were shaped like hearts, and when Leni angrily bit into hers after being told by Gavin that she has a habit of taking selfies rather than live the moment, she eats exactly half of it, a visual interpretation of her heart being ripped in half.
Irony: Lori, Leni and Luna saw no problem with pointing out Bobby, Gavin and Sam's annoying habits, but were deeply offended when their respective annoying habits were pointed out by Bobby, Gavin and Sam.

Errors[]
On certain TV listings, the plot states it is Lori who first notices the annoying habits instead of Leni.
When Luna and Sam are waiting in line at Dairyland, Mollie's right eye can be seen overlapping Classmate #1's head.
When Leni says she needs a moment, she's drawn with a more round nose.
