Trivia[]

  • This episode premiered on the franchise's tenth anniversary.
  • This is the first Really Loud House episode to be leaked in a foreign country before the United States, as it was accidentally released on Paramount+ in the United Kingdom prior to its official premiere in said country.
    • However, "Nice Guys Finish First" would end up being the first episode to officially premiere in another country before the US. Despite this, a clip of the episode was leaked by the Nickelodeon US YouTube channel even before this episode was accidentally released.
  • The premise of this episode is similar to that of the Loud House episode "House Flip", as both involve Lincoln temporarily housing a person at the Loud house after causing them to become unable to work.
    • Coincidentally, Flip and Rip Hardcore took up temporary residence in the attic in both episodes.
  • This episode reveals the following:
    • Lincoln and Clyde have gym class from 11:20 AM-12:05 PM.
    • Lisa knows how to hack into the Royal Woods school district's system, but refuses to do so for free.
      • She mentions that she cannot remove P.E. from Lincoln and Clyde's schedule for $3, but at that cost, she is willing to do the following:
        • Interfere with their attendance records to remove their unexcused absences
        • Update their grades so they get the A honor roll
        • Install a passageway to let them enter the teachers' lounge
    • Albert's last name (and by extension, Rita's maiden name) is Reynolds.
      • Lincoln's birthday check further reveals that his birthday is on March 26th, making him the first character to have their date of birth confirmed (possibly along with the Fox quintuplets, who share the same birthdate as his animated counterpart).
    • Lucy owns a voodoo doll of Coach Keck.
      • This episode also recalls that she has voodoo dolls of all of her siblings from the Loud House episode "Fandom Pains", as she is demonstrated torturing Lincoln with a voodoo doll. It also reveals that she likewise owns a voodoo doll of Clyde.
    • Lucy refuses to use her voodoo dolls to give people injuries or illnesses that can be cured easily, as she demonstrates willingness to make Coach Keck go blind, make her ankles swell and/or give her the head of a chipmunk, but refuses to give her tonsillitis, appendicitis, or any other type of organ inflammation due to the possibility to treat them with dietary modifications.
    • Leni has a crush on Timothée Chalamet.
    • The bullies at Royal Woods Middle School usually keep themselves occupied by throwing dodgeballs during P.E.
    • Clyde's favorite type of sandwich is tuna on rye.
    • Lincoln frequently eats his sandwiches with the crusts cut off.
    • Rip Hardcore does not permit the viewers of his live shows to bring food indoors because he has a microchip camera implanted into the eye of a hawk that attacks upon smelling food.
    • Lincoln and Clyde are addicted to corn dogs.
    • Despite Rip Hardcore referring to himself as R.U. in the Loud House episode "Mall of Duty", his real name is Stanley Bunch; the name "Rip Hardcore" is trademarked by the studio that owns his show.
    • Lincoln and Clyde have facial hair at their current ages.
      • This may be a callback to how Lincoln grew his first mustache hair in the Loud House episode "The Whole Picture".
    • Rip Hardcore usually shaves with an axe.
    • The tree in the Loud house's front yard is a maple tree.
    • Rip Hardcore is not legally allowed to harm others.
    • Rip Hardcore has an IQ of 40 and therefore cannot understand idioms.
    • Rip Hardcore can move both of his breasts up and down individually.
    • Rip Hardcore's shirts all have ripped sleeves because his biceps have a build too big for a sleeve to support.
    • Rip Hardcore has a vocabulary of about 100 words that he uses in his daily life.
    • Rip Hardcore does not understand why a globe is round, but a map is flat.
    • Lincoln and Clyde have been trying to get out of gym since first grade.
  • Events highlighted in the newspapers:
    • Hardcore Hawk Horror (Terrifying Incident Unfolds as Hawk Attacks Child at Rip Hardcore's Annual Wild Animal Live TV Show, Corndog in Hand)
    • Rotisserie Chicken Shortage Sweeps Stores, Leaving Chicken Salad Enthusiasts Concerned
    • Polar Bear Loose in City
    • Unicorn Spotted in Paris

    • Family Found Hope
    • Piranhas Stolen from Zoo
    • Rotisserie Chicken Shortage Continues
    • Raw Eggs Now Tasty
  • Clyde mentions Lynn Sr.'s fondness for Charity Week from "The Princess and the Everlasting Emerald: A Royal Woods Fairytale".
  • Rip Hardcore imposing physical torture upon Lincoln and Clyde to toughen them up is similar to how Lynn did the same to the McCauley kids in the Loud House episode "Sitting Bull".
    • This is the second episode in the franchise in which Lincoln eats raw eggs, the first being the Loud House episode "The Loudest Yard".
  • This is the first episode to reuse the credits theme from a previous episode. In this case, this episode uses the cover of the theme song sung by the Loud kids, previously played over the credits of "Some Buddy to Love".
  • This episode marks Stanley Bunch's second visit to the Loud House, the first time being "Home Is Where the Hero Is", while performing several macho activities with Lincoln and Clyde.
    • Lincoln also references the events of that episode by bringing up how he once read his hero speech on Rip's stage.
    • It's the longest time he has spent here too, living in the house for several weeks and inadvertently giving the Louds no peace.
    • Stanley's predecessor as Rip Hardcore has also visited the Loud House in A Loud House Christmas, driving over the lawn in pursuit of the Sharkodile.
  • Innuendo:
    • Lucy tortures Lincoln and Clyde by poking her voodoo dolls of them in the crotches.
    • Lincoln mentions that Coach Keck became unavailable to teach gym due to coming down with shingles (which usually refers to an infection called herpes zoster caused by the varicella-zoster virus that gives its victim a painful rash), only to reverse the phrasing to show that he means that the shingles of the roof came down onto her when the gymnasium's ceiling collapsed.
    • When the hawk attacks the kid sitting behind Lincoln and Clyde, Rip Hardcore watches in horror as the ferocious bird of prey rips off the kid's fingers off-screen.
    • When Leni complains about Rip hogging her makeup mirror, Lincoln claims that her makeup looks fine, prompting her to turn her head and reveal that the makeup on the right side of her face is smeared with a dramatic sound effect.
    • In one of Lynn Sr.'s flashback of Rip, one scenario had Rip accidentally spilling Salad oil onto him, which he mistakenly rubbed on his chest, causing Rita to be attracted to him, even wearing Leni's fake eyelashes.
  • Irony: Despite Lincoln and Clyde's efforts to hide the fact that they triggered the hawk attack with their corn dogs and subsequently caused Rip Hardcore to lose his job, Rip got his confirmation that they were responsible when they suggested eating corn dogs for snack time and gave them karma for the incident by making all of the other P.E. students pelt them with dodgeballs.

References[]

  • Get Out of Dodgeball - The title of this episode is a pun of the expression "get out of dodge", which means to leave in a hastily manner.
  • Uncle Buck - The pancake that Rip Hardcore makes for breakfast is similar to the pancakes that Buck makes in this 1989 film.
  • Bye Bye Birdie - One of the newspaper headlines is titled "Bye Bye Bullies!", which is likely a reference to this 1960 stage musical by Charles Strouse and Lee Adams.
  • Song of the South - Lynn Sr. calls Rip Hardcore by the nickname "Rip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah", which is likely a pun on the song "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" from this 1946 musical drama film.
  • Bingo - Rip Hardcore sings a self-entitled variant of this folk song in the shower.
    • Ringo Starr - While singing the song, he inadvertently spells out the name of this English musician and member of the Beatles while trying to spell Rippo.

Product placement[]

  • Henlys Group - A school bus manufactured by the Blue Bird Corporation can be seen outside Royal Woods Middle School. Unlike most other instances of product placement in live-action media, both the wordmark and the logo on the bus can be clearly seen in the background.

Errors[]

  • Rip Hardcore extracts syrup from the maple tree outside the Loud house. In reality, the tree would have dispensed sap, which is clear instead of yellowish brown; the sap would have to be boiled first in order to make syrup.
  • Plot holes:
    • When Rip Hardcore uses the food processor in a flashback, Lynn Sr. is depicted reading a newspaper with the headline "Bullying Up 87%". This event should not have happened yet, as it only occurs later after Rip decides to toughen up Lincoln and Clyde, partially by refusing to protect them from the bullies.
    • When Lincoln and Clyde return from school, only to find out that Rip Hardcore is still hogging the shower, steam is shown coming out of the bathroom, even though all of the hot water should have been used up by that point.
      • Additionally, it is unknown how Leni, Lucy, Lisa, and Lynn Sr. endured the whole day without getting ready for school and work due to Rip hogging the shower.
