Plot[]

Lincoln and Clyde are determined to make a name for themselves but learn that sacrificing someone else’s dreams to get there isn’t worth it in the end.

Synopsis[]

Act I[]

In Lincoln's room, Lincoln and Clyde are watching a video of Liam catapulting himself 39 feet into a bale of hay. They plan to beat his record by setting up a catapult system to launch Lincoln out of the window in his room, but their plans are put on hold when Rita arrives and alerts the siblings to go to school.

In the kitchen, Rita complains to Lynn Sr. that the sisters are sluggish in getting ready for school, asking him if he had put them to bed on time last night. It turns out he had spend the night watching The Vampires of Melancholia with Lucy, the twins, Lisa, and Lily, all of whom had convinced him to let them stay up until 2:00 AM. As the parents have an argument over him trying to be popular, the daughters in question are watching the argument unfold, hoping that Rita will make Lynn Sr. make the lunches and thus give them sweet baked goods, which is indeed what happens.

Later, at the Burnt Bean, Luna performs her song, "Eyes Closed", but is only met with silence. Her disappointment quickly turns to anger when a popular ClikClok singer, Kiki Carlyle, shows up and performs her hit single, "Dance with Your Hands".

Back at the Loud House, Lincoln and Clyde test out their catapult using Tanya as a crash test dummy. Their first test ends with Tanya hitting the ceiling and getting decapitated, making them conclude Lincoln needs to duck. In the kitchen, Rita finds out that because of Lynn Sr.'s sugary treats, the elementary school girls had fallen asleep in class, leading to yet another couple's quarrel. As the girls overhear the argument, the twins explain that the parents' disagreements follow a predictable pattern: After someone messes up (usually Lynn Sr.), Rita vents to her sister on the phone, then Lynn Sr. cleans out the fridge and mutters to himself, then Lynn Sr. sees Rita doing something cute while she's writing an article for the paper and excuses himself out of the house so he can purchase her favorite treat from Cannoli Pete's, resulting in them making up. The girls decide to watch the disagreement play out, with Rita phoning her sister and Lynn Sr. cleaning out the fridge.

Act II[]

Determined to go viral on ClikClok, Luna films herself singing "Eyes Closed" in her room, but her first attempt is ruined when Lincoln and Clyde's attempt at another catapult test ends with Lincoln flying into her room. In the living room, Lynn Sr. sees Rita blow her bangs out of her face and excuses himself out of the house. Lincoln and Clyde enter the living room with a ladder and tell Rita they will slingshot Lincoln out the window, saying Lynn Sr. had given them permission, igniting her fury once more.

Luna borrows Todd to keep Lincoln and Clyde out of her room. When Lisa finds out, she informs Luna about ClikClok's algorithm involving babies, felines, trendy clothes, and people falling down. Rita refuses to let Lincoln and Clyde do their jump and removes all traces of Lynn Sr.-themed merchandise from the house. Lincoln and Clyde go to Luna's room in boredom, but Luna tells them to go out in the yard. Following Lisa's advice on the ClikClok algorithm, Luna brings in Cliff and Lily with a trendy hat for the music video, though Cliff is not cooperative. Lincoln and Clyde realize they can become ClikClok famous and decide to sneak into Luna's music video.

Lynn Sr. returns home with Rita's favorite treat from Cannoli Pete's, but discovers his thrown-out merchandise and eats the cannoli in spite, much to the girls' confusion. Luna films her music video as Lincoln and Clyde set up the ladder, climb up to her window, and do Kiki's ClikClok dance. The ladder falls, taking the boys with it, but they consider the ClikClok fame to be worth it.

Act III[]

Luna notices the likes her video has and decides to review the comments. Ignoring Todd's warnings, she discovers Lincoln and Clyde have snuck into her video, much to her dismay. Lynn Sr. and Rita's conflict reignites, and the girls decide to come up with a plan to fix things.

Lincoln and Clyde boast about their new ClikClok fame to Liam over the phone when an angry Luna shows up. As Clyde leaves in panic, Lincoln tries to apologize to Luna, telling her about his plan to beat Liam's record. Luna reminds him he has always been coming up with plans since he was little, with the two recalling an incident where Lincoln convinced Luna to teach him how to play "Heart and Soul" on piano in order to upstage Liam at show-and-tell. Lincoln points out she loved playing the song with him, and when she tells him she is a serious musician, he leaves, inadvertently reminding her of how fun playing music can be.

That night, the girls put their plan into action by luring their parents to the living room. As Rita writes an article for the paper in the kitchen, Lucy shows up and gets Rita to leave to the living room under the pretense of a seance. Meanwhile, Lisa rigs the TV to play Operation Dessert Storm and convinces Lynn Sr., who is making dinner, to watch. With both parents in position, the twins rub the parents' necks, convincing the parents to end their brief feud.

Later, Lincoln teaches Lily how to play "Heart and Soul" on the piano, with Luna joining in. Eventually, the entire family joins in on a sing-along.

Trivia[]

  • This episode reveals the following:
    • Lynn Sr., Lana, Lola, Lisa, and Lily have all recently become fans of Vampires of Melancholia (or, if not actual fans, they appreciate it enough to watch it).
    • Lynn Sr. tends to oblige his kids by pretending to be popular. He even went as far as buying a bathrobe with "Mr. Popular" written on the back of it.
    • Lynn Sr. puts sweet and savory baked goods in his kids' school lunches whenever he is held accountable for it.
    • The Loud parents' disagreements always go in stages.
      • Stage 1: Somebody (usually Lynn Sr.) makes a mistake.
      • Stage 2: Rita vents to her sister over the phone.
        • This further reveals that Rita has a sister in the first place.
      • Stage 3: Lynn Sr. cleans out the refrigerator and lets Rita sort out the issue by herself.
      • Stage 4: Rita writes an article about the incident for the newspaper, and while she does so, Lynn Sr. will notice her doing something cute and make an excuse (usually a lack of pickles in the fridge) to leave the house and go for a drive.
      • Stage 5: Lynn Sr. brings Rita's favorite treat home from Cannoli P's, and they forget about the incident altogether.
    • Lynn Sr. has a lot of self-entitled merchandise.
    • Lincoln has been trying to upstage Liam as revenge for every time he has upstaged him since he was a little kid.
      • One way he has attempted this was by learning to play a song on the piano. During the experience, he learned how to play it together with Luna, and they used to have fun doing it together since then.
    • Luna used to have purple dyed hair when she was younger.
  • This is the first episode to feature a Loud family pet besides one of Lana's pets (in this case, Cliff).
  • This is the first episode to have Amy Pittman as a staff writer.
  • This is the first episode of the live action series where Liam appears without Rusty and Zach .
    • However he doesn't physically appear since he only appears in a video on Lincoln's computer.
  • Innuendo: When Tanya is launched during Lincoln and Clyde's first test run, a snapping sound is audible, and only her head comes back.
  • Irony:
    • Lynn Sr.'s usual methods of putting an end to the disagreements he frequently has with his wife didn't work with the incident he had with his younger daughters due to Lincoln and Clyde spilling the beans about him allowing them to perform a stunt where Lincoln gets launched out his bedroom window.
    • Luan, despite being Luna's roommate, is not listed on Todd's "allowed in" list.
      • However, this could be due to the fact that she is absent from this episode.
    • Todd initially does not allow Lisa inside Luna's room due to her not being listed under the "allowed in" list, but he ignores the bouncer system when Luna explains how she intends to upload her song to ClikClok.
    • Despite Lily proving that she knows what to do in Luna's music video during the set-up, her eyes are open throughout the entirety of the music video, and this does not bother Luna.
    • In addition to becoming more famous than Luna had planned to become by photobombing her music video, Lincoln and Clyde also moved their hands while being recorded, essentially mimicking the way the audience danced to "Dance With Your Hands", the song that upstaged Luna's song at the Burnt Bean.
  • Foreshadowing: Todd warns Luna not to look at the comments on her music video. By doing so, Luna ultimately finds out about Lincoln and Clyde photobombing, followed by their scheme to become famous.

Product placement[]

Errors[]

  • Possible: The MC mentions that Kiki Carlyle has stopped by Royal Woods to use the Burnt Bean's bathroom, despite the fact that the Burnt Bean is actually in Fern Valley. However, it's possible that only the restaurant's animated counterpart is in Fern Valley, and that this incarnation is in Royal Woods.
  • During Lisa and Luna's conversation, Todd's Nintendo Entertainment System chest alternates between being open and closed between shots. It's open in all shots where Todd is viewed from behind, but closed in all other shots.
