Episode Information

"House Music" is the thirty-third episode of the first season of The Loud House.

Plot

The kids enter a talent show, and Luna suggests they form a band, but her bossy attitude gets her kicked out.

Synopsis

Lincoln and his sisters are trying to decide on an act they can put on for the talent show at the Family Fun Fair later that day. After several of his sisters' ideas are shot down, Luna suggests they form a family band. To motivate them, she quotes her idol, Mick Swagger, by saying that the most important thing about being in a band is having fun, not about being the best. As the kids practice in the garage, Dad asks if he can join the the band, recalling the time he got kicked out a band in his younger years, and Luna allows him to.

However, Luna gets a call from her roadie Chunk who informs her that Mick Swagger will be at the fair scouting for young talent. Luna gets extremely excited and, in hopes of impressing Mick, she goes back on her previous statement and tries to get her family to play as best as they can. However, she is annoyed by their sub par playing, culminating in her kicking her father out of the band, breaking his heart and making him cry. The others call her out on her actions and she kicks them out as well. To spite her, Lincoln announces that they're forming their own band and that she's on her own.

Inside the house, Luna tries to write a song on her own to play at the show but she can't come up with anything, getting distracted by her family's playing outside, and becomes depressed. Thinking a change in scenery is what she needs, she goes to a diner to think but there she also fails to write anything. There, she meets a bearded stranger and she tells him about what had been happening. The stranger reminds her of Mick Swagger's words about having fun playing in a band, causing Luna to remember that the last time she had fun was when she was in the family band. Realizing the error of her ways, Luna leaves the diner and heads for the fair.

S1E17A Loud family band

The family band on stage.

As the family prepares to play at the show, Luna approaches her siblings and apologizes to them for her behavior, and to her father for kicking him out of the band. They accept her apology, and she rejoins the band. On stage, the kids along with their parents play to a receptive audience. After the show, Luna again encounters the stranger from the diner, thanks him for his advice and tells him that she realized how mean she was because she wanted to impress Mick who didn't seem to appear at the show. However, the stranger takes off his beard and glasses to reveal that he was in fact Mick the whole time, causing Luna and her father to get so starstruck that they can't even say his name. When he walks off, they faint.
