Lincoln and his friends get ready for the school dance! Clyde’s dad's are particularly excited that this might be the night Clyde has the ultimate meet-cute they've been waiting for, meanwhile Lincoln keeps striking out with his crush, Charlie.
Liam has never shot a solo broadcast for the Action News Team before.
Rusty considers sixth grade to be the coolest grade in middle school.
Rusty is a Capricorn, and he can bench-press 71 lb.
Charlie's favorite color is pink.
Lori was in the Kangaroo Court in the sixth grade. She won the Kangaroo Hop when she was in the eighth grade, but she found the Kangaroo Queen's throne to be uncomfortable to sit in.
Rita was once the runner-up in the Kangaroo Hop when she was in middle school. While she did not get a crown like the winner, Brenda Wilkinson, she did get a gift certificate to the Royal Woods Lumber Yard.
Clyde's fathers have a photo album of all of Clyde's life accomplishments.
Clyde had a peanut allergy at a young age.
Since Clyde was mentioned not to be allergic to peanuts in the Loud House episode "Snow Way Down", this means that he either developed a tolerance to peanuts as he grew up or has different allergies from his animated counterpart.
Harold moved to Royal Woods in 2004.
Clyde's fathers met each other at an art exhibit at the community center, where they both wore identical-looking jackets and accidentally put on the wrong ones during coat check.
Lincoln has never successfully made a balloon animal before.
This alludes to how he was terrible at making balloon animals in the Loud House episode "Lincoln Loud: Girl Guru".
Lincoln is a casual baseball player.
Clyde's fathers bought a pair of antique binoculars at an estate sale in Vermont once, and Clyde learned how to tie his shoes on said trip.
Charlie mentions how she hooked up with Rusty in "The Blemish Dilemish". This episode also reveals that they have since broken up (specifically, four weeks prior to the events of this episode).
Bella Blanding's 13th birthday occurred during the filming of this episode.[1]
While filming the scene where Lincoln falls down the stairs, Wolfgang Schaeffer himself fell from the top onto a crash pad. His stunt double then came tumbling down the stairs, and Schaeffer himself was ultimately the one to hit the ground. The whole scene was filmed over the course of three weeks.[2]
This is the first episode where Liam and Rusty appears without Zach.
This is the last episode to be directed by Melissa Kosar, as well as the only episode to be directed by more than one person.
Irony:
Harold threatens to intimidate Lynn Sr. with his deep voice, but immediately after, Lynn Sr. knocks on his car window and he speaks casually to him, faking being "doing the real estate thing."
At the beginning of the episode, Rusty tells Charlie that his favorite color is the color of her eyes. It is later revealed that they broke up a few weeks prior to the events of this episode.
Foreshadowing: AJ Squaredaway's explanation about what happened to Cannonball Wilson aimed at casual baseball fans tells that he got jinxed because he was on a roll. Moments after Lincoln finished hearing it, Lori told him that he was on a roll, and, as predicted by Lynn, it went to his head.
References[]
I Wanna Hold Your Hand - The title of this episode references the 1963 Beatles song "I Want to Hold Your Hand."
Super Bowl - Lincoln compares the Kangaroo Hop to this annual NFL play-off event.
Kao the Kangaroo - One of the inflatable kangaroos resembles the title character of this video game franchise.
Giacomo Casanova - At one point, Lori refers to Lincoln as this Italian adventurer.
Cinderella - Lori's dress from the end of the episode resembles the outfit that the title character of this 1950 film wore to the ball.
Product placement[]
Sony - Liam is seen using a Sony camera to film for the Kangaroo Hop.
While the Liam plays the recording of Lincoln, the time code does not change.
When Liam films Lincoln's entrance, he is wearing a green shirt with dark orange stripes. However, when he films Rusty and Charlie's interview, he is wearing a blue shirt with yellow stripes. When he films Lori's interview, he is wearing the green shirt with dark orange stripes again.
The same alternation happens when he interviews Lincoln, followed by Clyde.
As Liam interviews Lori, the arrangement of his hair changes between shots.
Zach's name is listed in the credits, even though he does not appear in this episode.
Possible: Rusty mentions that he is a Capricorn, which is under the sign of earth. However, in the Casagrandes episode "The Horror-Scope", it was implied that Rusty was born under the sign of fire, as Ernesto Estrella made a prediction about a person born under the sign of fire finding love, and Lincoln asked Ronnie Anne for advice that he could give to Rusty because he had a new love interest in that episode. However, it's possible that Rusty was not born under the sign of fire at all, since in that same episode, Ronnie Anne (who was confirmed to be born under the sign of fire) ended up finding Sid's missing lovebird, which Rosa pointed out to match up with Ernesto's prediction.
