"Kick the Bucket List" is the sixteenth episode of the second season and the sixty-eighth episode of The Loud House.

Plot[]

Lincoln and Clyde's spring break plans are put in jeopardy when they only have one day to complete their list.

Synopsis[]

Lincoln walks out of the Loud house, stretching, and explains to the viewers that today is the first day of spring break, and he and Clyde have nine whole days to complete a list of activities they have planned ever since the end of Christmas break. After a hefty amount of stretching, Lincoln heads over to Clyde's house. When he gets to Clyde's house, Clyde informs him that Howard and Harold surprised him with a trip to Hawaii, and that he'll be gone for eight days. Despite shouting "NOOOOOOOOO!!!" in despair, Lincoln realizes that Clyde will only be gone for eight days, which will allow them to have time to do the activities on the ninth and last day.

Over the next eight days, Lincoln and Clyde work hard on their list, hoping to cut down on the amount of activities they have planned. When Clyde finally comes back, the two remark how unsuccessful they were on cutting their lists down, and state that it's still the same. Despite this, Lincoln and Clyde decide to proceed on getting the activities done.

  • To start off the list, Lincoln and Clyde decide to catch up on all the episodes of ARGGH! they've recorded. After inserting the disc, Lincoln realizes that there are 42 episodes on the disk, so they decide to speed up the footage. As the two watch the footage go by really fast, they quickly get nauseous, and throw up.
  • Second, Lincoln and Clyde arrive to Dairyland Amoosement Park, so they can ride the park's newest attraction: "Fly Me to the Moo". However, the line of people waiting to ride the ride is extremely long, so they decide to cut in front of everybody under the guise that they're ride inspectors. When they get on the ride though, one of the crew members kicks them out of the park. Despite getting kicked out, they check it off the list, claiming that "they flew for a second".
  • Next, the two head to the pet store, wanting to pet the puppies. The man behind the counter tells them that the puppies are being washed, and instead tells them that they can pet a cockatoo named Petey. Despite being afraid of its aggressive nature, Lincoln and Clyde proceed to pet it, which results in them getting assaulted by the ferocious bird. Nonetheless, they check it off of the list.
  • Next up, the two take a trip though the park on a horse pulled carriage. Realizing they're almost out of time, Clyde blares and air horn in hopes the horse will go faster, but instead, it kicks the carriage off, sending the two boys careening down a hill, and into a fountain.
  • Next, the two fill a kiddie pool will gelatin mix, since they want to swim in gelatin. However, the amount of time it will take for the gelatin to solidify will be a while, so the jump into the pool regardless.

As Lincoln and Clyde attempt to clean the orange coloring coating from their bodies, Lincoln informs Clyde that it's already 1:00, and they're not even at the halfway mark on their list. Clyde thinks that they can speed things up if they both do one half of the list separately. After splitting the list in half, Lincoln and Clyde proceed to get back to work doing the activities.

  • Lincoln is seen playing multiple instruments at the same time. Attracted by the noise, Luna comes in, and when Lincoln informs her on what she's doing, she intends to get her axe, wanting to join in. However, Lincoln tells Luna it's a "me and Clyde thing". Not seeing Clyde around, Luna awkwardly leaves. The moment she leaves, Lincoln trips and struggles to get back up. Unable to do so, he checks his list.
  • At the park, Lana and Lola build a sandcastle in the sandbox, while Leni watches them. Clyde is on the seesaw, drawing Lincoln's face on a rock. Leni wants to be Clyde's partner on the seesaw, but he denies the offer, saying he's got "Lincoln" with him. When Clyde tosses the rock on the other side of the seesaw, he flings himself into the sandbox, where he crushes the sandcastle Lana and Lola were building. Enraged at the loss of their sandcastle, the twins give Clyde a beat down. After getting beaten up, Clyde pulls out his list, and checks it.
  • Lincoln prepares a six-foot sub sandwich. Lynn sees the sandwich, and wants to have a bite. When Lincoln refuses to let Lynn have a bite, she has a bite regardless, and belches loudly into Lincoln's face, and Lincoln checks it.
  • At a pier, Clyde tries to asks Scoots to take a picture of him and the Lincoln rock. When Scoots manages to take the photo, he drops the rock into the water, much to his disappointment.

Soon afterwards, Lincoln and Clyde attempt to complete the rest of the activities on their lists, which include water balloon tossing, riding a paddle boat, doing a trapeze act, and playing at the arcade.

Clyde calls Lincoln on his walkie-talkie, saying that he has his half of the list done, and Lincoln says he has his half done as well. When the two meet up on a bus so they can get back home, they realize that they didn't have much fun, since they didn't do a lot of things together. When the bus driver swerves out of the way to avoid hitting Scoots, the bus hits a pothole, which pops one of the tires. Realizing that they won't get home in time, Lincoln and Clyde take multiple modes of transportation to get back home, which include riding on Scoots' scooter, riding on a couple sheep, crossing a lake, operating a pushcart, and sliding down a hill with trash can lids.

S2E09A Lincoln and Clyde resting

Clincoln McCloud have successfully done everything on their list.

Lincoln and Clyde arrive at the Loud House just in time, as the street lamps start to light up. Lincoln and Clyde realize that the adventure they went through to get back home was more engaging than the rest of the day itself. Realizing that their day wasn't a total loss, Lincoln and Clyde agree not to make a list of activities for the upcoming summer break. Clyde proceeds to head back home (courtesy of a sheep), and Lincoln enters his house. Suddenly, Lincoln encounters Petey, the same cockatoo from the pet shop earlier, still looking vicious as it was earlier. When Lincoln attempts to act nice towards Petey, but the latter ends up attacking Lincoln once again. The sisters arrive home, and see Lincoln getting pummeled by the bird. However, they decide not to help him when they assume it's one of the many activities he and Clyde planned today, and assume that he doesn't want their involvement.

Trivia[]

  • The McBrides' car plate reads "McRide".
  • Evil Mind 3 plays when Lincoln yells "NOOOOOOOOO!!!". This track is known as "Oh My Neptune!" in SpongeBob SquarePants.
  • The background when Clyde leaves on the sheep is reused from "Toads and Tiaras", where Lana manages to perfect the ribbon dance.
  • Cartoon physics: Clyde is able to pick up and throw a rock that's heavier than he is.

International edits[]

  • The Ride Operator was given a female voice, but in many international dubs, it was given a male voice.
  • In the Sinhala dub, the scene at the start of the episode was cut.

References[]

  • Kick the Bucket List - The title is a portmanteau of "bucket list", which is a list of accomplishments you want to do before death and the idiom "kick the bucket", which means "to die".
  • Siri - The voice on Clyde's phone when Scoots is trying to take a picture of Clyde and a rock sounds similar to this virtual assistant. This is also mentioned in the credits.
  • Frank Sinatra - The ride where Lincoln and Clyde want to ride is called "Fly me to the Moo" which is a parody of the 1964 song "Fly me to the Moon".

Errors[]

  • The closed captions misread Hunter Spector's name as "Hunger Spectre".
  • Possible: Clyde's line, "Maybe we shouldn't have touched his egg." after being attacked by Petey, doesn't make sense, because males don't lay eggs. However, Clyde could have meant that Petey is the father of the egg, which was laid by an unseen female parrot.
  • The cart on Fly Me to the Moo still says "MILK SHAKER" from "Toads and Tiaras".
  • While Lincoln and Clyde were relaxing on the stairs of the Loud House, after going through an awesome trip of getting back there, Lincoln's bags were missing.
  • Petey managed to escape from the pet store to get to the Loud house, but it's unknown how he got there in the first place.
  • In the Swedish dub, when Lincoln says "You're right. Besides, we have a list to get through." he says it in Lana's voice.
S2E09A Lincoln shows the list

AARGH!?

  • When Lincoln shows his spring break to-do list, the "ARRGH!" in "ARRGH! Binge!" is spelled "AARGH!", with the first R replaced by an A.
