Trivia[]

  • The headphones Lisa puts on are the same ones from "Nice Guys Finish First". They even play the song "It's Hump Day" from that episode.
  • This episode reveals the following:
    • Lucy's favorite movie is The Rise of Blood River: Hookhand Returns.
    • Howard and Harold have a strict rule dictating that if they say "no" to anything, the decision is final.
    • Bobby is highly superstitious.
    • Lincoln does not know that the Eiffel Tower is in France. Instead, he thinks it's in Germany.
  • Luna mentions that she and her other sisters don't have to be home until midnight which is a reference to the curfew that Lynn Sr. established in "The Macho Man with the Plan". Luan further reveals that her curfew has been moved to 11:00 PM.
  • Lynn is the only older Loud sister not to appear, while Lily is the only younger Loud sister not to appear.
  • This is the last episode to be written by Peter Limm.
  • Innuendo: While walking to the snack bar, Lana warns Lola that the scariest part of a horror movie is when two people sticking together get separated. This ultimately causes Lola to get caught by Butch, unbeknownst to Lana.
  • Irony:
    • While the younger sisters hiding in the back of Vanzilla initially appear to be the only apparent issue that Butch would have to deal with while checking the van for illegal stowaways, Leni quickly reveals that she snuck in a bag of sweets in the back of the van, unbeknownst to others. As a result, when Butch catches the younger sisters hiding in Vanzilla and refers to them as "sweeties", Luna assumes he is referring to Leni's bag of sweets.
    • Lola pulling the "Nunya Business" trick on Butch prompts him to tell the alleged Mr. and Mrs. Business that their missing daughter has been found and he calls "their daughter" by the name "Nunya Business" (pronounced like a contracted form of "none of your business"), which could come off as self-contradictory because this would suggest that the "parents" don't have to come looking for their daughter.
    • Lisa initially assumes that a cardboard cutout of Hookhand is an officer due to her being unable to see. However, Butch, an actual security guard, turns out to be hiding behind the cutout.
    • Upon discovering that the Loud sisters have deceived him by hiding their shoes in the photo booth to make it appear that they are still inside, Butch collects their shoes and assumes that they can't kick him without them, prompting them to kick him back into the photo booth without any shoes on and retrieve them.
    • Lincoln's plan to hide his younger sisters' adventure outside of the house involved giving his parents a tour of his Bricko castle, which inadvertently destroyed it.

References[]

  • Monopoly - Property-opoly, the game the younger Loud sisters play in this episode, is a spoof of this board game manufactured by Hasbro.
  • Lego - Brickos are likely a pun on this Danish construction toy company.
  • Shop 'til you drop - Lisa's shirt as "Purchase 'til you collapse" written on it, a nerdy equivalent of this phrase.
  • The Incredibles - Upon arriving home to ask Rita out for a date night, Lynn Sr. refers to himself as "Mr. Lynn-credible", possibly referencing the heroic alter ego of Bob Parr, the protagonist of this 2004 Pixar animated film.
  • The Strangers - Hookhand resembles the eponymous antagonists of this 2008 psychological horror film.
  • Home Alone - While making scared faces in the photo booth, Lisa puts her hands on her chin in a similar manner to Kevin's screaming face from this 1990 film.
  • The Shining - When Butch discovers the Loud sisters hiding inside the photo booth, he pokes his head through the curtains and yells, "Here's Butchy!", similarly to Jack Torrance poking his head through the hole he made in the door and saying, "Here's Johnny!" in this 1980 psychological horror film.

Product placement[]

  • Dixie - The popcorn buckets provided by the drive-in are from this brand of paper food containers.

Errors[]

  • The fraternity that Lucy joins refers to themselves as Penta Chi. Penta is not an actual Greek letter, although the Penta symbol depicted on their jackets resembles the letters Rho (Ρ) and Phi (Φ).
