Trivia[]

  • If one is quick to notice, Rita drinks the expired milk out of a "Best Dad Ever" mug.
  • This episode reveals the following:
    • Lynn Sr. can detect lies, but he cannot determine everything.
    • The Loud family has a court system that they only use for highly controversial cases. Previous cases assessed in the court include:
      • The Case of the Missing Toilet Seat - Lucy fell in the toilet because the toilet seat was missing. Lynn had used it for archery practice. Upon being determined guilty, Lynn got grounded for three weeks.
      • The Case of the Stolen Front Door - The front door went missing on a blustery winter day and caused a huge pile of snow to form inside the house. Lucy, Lana, and Lola had done so to let a bear into the house. Upon being determined guilty, Lucy, Lana, and Lola were not allowed to eat desserts for three months.
      • The Case of the Flooded Basement - Leni had used the garden hose to turn the basement into a swimming pool and. Upon being found guilty, Leni was suspended from shopping for six months.
    • A pirate has recently discovered gold at the bottom of Lake Eddie, which has prompted Clyde to go searching for it.
    • Lynn Sr. has never let Rita have a turn at being the judge.
    • The Loud family has various methods of making others confess:
      • Lucy forces people to stare into the Staff of Souls and swear their confessions.
      • Lynn yells in people's faces.
      • Luna sings hard rock songs at the convicts.
    • Lily has a friend named Bonnie, who likes to eat butterscotch. She was found guilty for eating all the butterscotch in the Loud Family's court system upon regurgitating it in front of Lynn and Lynn Sr. sentenced her to not have a playdate with Lily for two months. Though he shortens it to one month and gives her a lollipop as Lynn calls him a softie.
    • Clyde cracks under high pressure and suffers from chronic flop sweating.
    • If nobody is determined guilty by the Loud Family Court, the charge is imposed upon everybody.
    • All of the Loud kids like s'mores.
    • Lynn Sr. has about twenty pairs of reading glasses. He continually misplaces his spare pair, and to resolve the issue, Rita has bought him a box to store them. However, Lynn Sr. has never used the box.
    • Lincoln is the only member of the Loud family who has ever made s'mores indoors. Clyde has likewise made s'mores indoors before.
  • Lynn Sr. warning the Loud kids that burning the kitchen down will get them grounded forever is a reference to how in real life, arson is punishable by a life sentence in Michigan. The felony is also punishable by a maximum fine of $20,000, sometimes coupled with the imprisonment.
  • This is the third episode to bring up the twins' ability to work together as a team of detectives, after "The Banana Split Decision" and "Louds in Love".
  • Clyde owning a personal diary may be a callback to the Loud House episode "Absent Minded".
  • This is the last episode to be written by Amy Pittman.
  • Innuendo:
    • Luna mentions that her suggestion of resolving the case "stars with a 'T' and ends with an 'orture'", indicating that she intended to torture Lincoln like a prisoner.
    • While thinking of what Lynn Sr. may have been drinking, Lincoln pauses for a moment before concluding that he must have had gravy. Since Lynn Sr. was holding a beer glass in the flashback, this may have suggested that Lincoln thought he was drinking alcohol.
  • Irony: When the twins introduce themselves as the detectives who investigated the crime scene, Lana says "It wasn't us". It later turns out that Lola had planted her feather boa next to the other flammable objects that caused the kitchen fire.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • While the twins had discovered an oily rag, some paper scrolls, and a feather boa at the crime scene, they did not present them as evidence while attempting to prove Lincoln guilty, suggesting that he had no experience with them.
    • When reading his diary, Clyde mentions that a new girl named Angie has moved to Royal Woods and sits next to him in history class. This foreshadows her eventual debut in "The Man with the Backup Plan".
    • Lynn Sr.'s running gag of misplacing his spare reading glasses and refusing to look for them suggest that his glasses started the fire which led to Rita having him clean the kitchen of the fire damage with a toothbrush while wearing one of the recovered reading glasses.

References[]

    • Coincidentally, Liliana Mumy stated that this was Leni's favorite film in episode 20 of the Nick Animation Podcast, and she likewise stated that Leni would "get there one day".
    • Myrtle's voice actress Jennifer Coolidge also had a prominent role in the franchise as Paulette Bonafonté.
  • Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - When Leni calls Lana as her first witness, she and Lola stand back-to-back as a sepia effect covers the screen and a logo titled "L&L KFU: Kitchen Fire Unit" appears, parodying this television series.
