Trivia[]

  • This episode calls back to "The Banana Split Decision" by bringing up the twins' ability to work together as a team of detectives.
  • In this episode, Leni mentions that she currently does not have a boyfriend, implying that she broke up with Chase off-screen.
  • This episode reveals the following:
    • Howard and Harold have taken a photo of Clyde on every Valentine's Day since he was born because "he's their heart".
      • Since Clyde later reveals that he is an Aquarius in "McLouds vs Machine", this implies that he was born in January.
    • There is a French restaurant in Royal Woods called Café Délicieux that serves a $300 eleven-course meal.
    • Luan is in love with a new student at school named Scotty, who is the best mime in Theatre Club.
    • Lisa frequently uses cereal bowls as Petri dishes, but refuses to admit it. Every time she hears Rita and Lynn Sr. coming to the kitchen while using them this way, she hides under the sink to avoid getting caught red-handed.
    • The Loud house's main water source is through a valve next to the basement window.
    • Lola rarely, if ever, uses the DVD player.
    • The Loud parents' favorite movie is called Pierre & Colette, and they have always wanted to reenact the film by going to Paris on Valentine's Day, but have been unable to do so due to numerous financial issues.
  • If one is quick to notice, the globe in Lincoln's room is upside down.
  • This marks Sam's first appearance in The Really Loud House.
    • Like in The Loud House, she debuts in a romance-themed episode from the second season.
      • It's a similar case for Scotty, who meets the same criteria as Benny did in his debut appearance, which was coincidentally the same episode.
  • Lola mentioning that Korn Dog Hut will close soon is likely a reference to how Bobby mentioned that many larger businesses with similar names (including Korn Dog House, Korn Dog Mansion and Korn Dog Palace) became much more popular than it, effectively putting it on the verge of bankruptcy in the Loud House episode "Store Wars with the Casagrandes".
    • However, it's likely that she was referring to its closing hours, rather than it going out of business, as Rita mentions that it's closed just as Vanzilla breaks down near the driveway.
  • Innuendo:
    • When the Loud parents enter the kitchen, Lucy laments about not having the chance to give them her Valentine's Day card, which is coffin-shaped and quickly revealed to have a sticker of a human heart inside.
      • This marks the second time she has intended to give a present involving an actual heart, after the Loud House episode "Snow Escape".
    • When caught "dating" Kierstan by her ex-boyfriend, Rod, Clyde attempts to explain the situation by saying that he had paid her for her services. This only infuriates Rod even further, and he beats up Clyde in retaliation.
  • Irony: Lynn Sr.'s efforts to repair the faulty water pressure fixed the pressure issue with the kitchen sink, but also caused a rupture in the pipes leading upstairs.

References[]

  • Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - When the twins decide to investigate the parents' lack of interest in celebrating Valentine's Day, they stand back-to-back as a sepia effect covers the screen and a logo titled "L&L SVU: Special Valentine's Unit" appears, parodying this television series.
    • The pastiche of the series' main theme recycled from "The Banana Split Decision" also plays in the background when the twins ask Clyde if he knows why the Loud parents are bankrupt.
  • Pakistan - While thinking of words that rhyme with "Sam", Luna mentions the name of this South Asian country, but butchers its name to "Paki-stam".

Errors[]

  • When Zia convinces Leni that Lincoln likes the dress she made for her and Leni responds with, "Happy Galentine's Day", the closed-captions misspell it as "Valentine".
  • Possible plot hole: This episode displays that Lincoln is fully in love with Zia to the point where he is interested in taking her out on a date, despite the fact that he still appears to have feelings for Charlie in "The Tennessee Surprise: Love Is in the Air". However, it is likely that this episode takes place after "The Tennessee Surprise: Love Is in the Air", as the episodes were aired out of production order.
