[The episode starts at Great Lakes City. There is a traffic jam as cars are honking their horns and Camperzilla is shown to be in that traffic as well. Lynn Sr., however, is driving and smiling.] Lynn Sr.:[honks the RV's horn] "Hello to you too! And they say people in this city are rude." [In the lounge, Rita has a notepad and pen as the Loud siblings, except Lori who is on her phone, pay attention.] Rita: "Okay kids, listen up. This is the last stop of our summer road trip and we have a packed day." [flips her notepad to reveal three things the Louds will be doing.] "Lunch at Goddess Greens, Great Lakes City Tower, and a concert series in the park." Lincoln: "Sweet. When do we get to see the Casagrandes? I can't wait to tell Ronnie Anne all about our trip." [This news worries Rita. Then Lori's phone rings, and she answers.] Lori: "Hey, Boo Boo Bear." [Rita gasps in shock] "Guess where I am?" Rita:[snatches Lori's phone and imitates her] "Literally Mount Rushmore!" [laughs nervously and imitates static] "Losing reception, Babe!" [does it again] "Call you later!" [hangs up] Lori:[incredulous] "Mom, what was that?" Rita: "Um..." [chuckles nervously and gives Lori her phone back] "We would love to visit the Casagrandes." [looks at her husband, who is feeling the same way] "But my last travel piece for the Gazette is due tonight, and we have to hit all these places. There's just no time to stop by." Lynn Sr.: "Yeah, if we want to get everything on your mom's list done, they can't know we're here. We-we'll visit them another time, okay, kiddos?" [All the Loud kids feel a bit downtrodden, but regrettably understand.] Luna: "I guess so. Plus, I don't want to miss that concert." Lola: "And I want a glamor shot from the top of the GLC Tower, looking down at all of the little people." Lori: "I don't know, you guys. I feel weird about this." [Her phone starts ringing again and she answers.] "Hey, Boo-Boo Bear." [glances at Rita giving her the puppy eyes; laments] "Yeah, we're still at Mount Rushmore." [Rita smiles] "Of course I'll think of you every time I look up Washington's nose." [hangs up and glares at her mother] Rita: "Aw, thanks for understanding, sweetie." [to the rest of her kids] "Okay, gang. First stop: Goddess Greens. Hope everyone's hungry!" [Lincoln enthusiastically chuckles in response. Lynn goes through the fridge and gets out an empty bowl.] Lynn: "Yeah, just in time. You don't want to see me hangry." [Lynn dumps out the bowl containing dust particles of chips and then throws it away. Meanwhile, Lynn Sr. is still smiling from what's out the window.] Unknown Driver:[offscreen] "Hey, move it or lose it, buddy!" [Lynn Sr. honks the horn again and waves, sighing contentedly.] Lynn Sr.: "I love this city."
[Goddess Greens. Inside the restaurant, the Louds are looking at their menus as Rita is taking notes into a tape recorder. Lynn Sr., however, is shown to be having trouble reading his menu.] Rita:[recording] "Whatever you're into, Great Lakes City has it all. That is, if you have time to do it all." Lynn Sr.: "Hon, I'm not sure I'm cool enough for this place. There's nothing on this menu but emojis." [He shows the menu to Rita with 12 different emojis: a bread, a peace sign, a winky face, a side-eyed face, a confused face, an apple , a pretzel, a love heart, a cupcake, a cup, a pair of chopsticks, and a dinosaur.] Lynn Sr.: "What am I supposed to order? The dinosaur or the winky face?" Rita: "I'm sure everything is fabulous, hon. Jesse said this was the trendiest restaurant in the city." Leni:[sharing a menu with Lincoln.] "Oh, it totes is. It's Carlota's fave spot. She comes here all the time." Lynn Sr.: "What?! Why didn't you tell us?" Rita: "Lynn, it's fine. It's nearly impossible to get a reservation. What are the odds that Carlota got one at the same time as us?" [The door opens, and Carlota and Mia come in.] Carlota: "Hola! I have a noun rez under Casagrande." [She blows kisses to everyone at their tables as the Louds see her and gasp in horror. They hide their faces behind the menus.] Lynn Sr.:[whispering] "We have to get out of here!" Rita:[whispering] "I didn't even try the food! I'll have nothing to write about!" Lynn Sr.:[whispering] "If Carlota sees us, you'll be writing about the end of your friendship with the Casagrandes!" [Both parents see Carlota and Mia getting escorted to their table, and they duck under the table. The siblings go under the table as well before Carlota notices, almost seeing the Louds.] Leni: "Hi, Carlo..." [Lincoln, Lori and the twins quickly cover Leni's mouth. The Louds then crawl out of the table as Carlota takes a menu from a hostess, followed by Mia, and they take their table. Rita accidentally bumps her head under another table two men are sitting at, leaving them perplexed. Rita takes a greenish burrito from the guys' table and replaces it with cash.] Rita:[pops up] "Thank you." [Carlota is seated at her table and looks over the menu, while the Louds go out of the front door, with Lily on Lynn Sr.'s back. Rita takes a bite of the burrito as she speaks with the tape recorder.] Rita: "With the best bite in the city, grab a warrior wrap at Goddess Greens. It's perfect on the go." [She unknowingly bites into the tape recorder, which she notices. She realizes her error and switches it with the burrito, and then leaves. After the door shuts behind Rita, Carlota notices. She looks to find nothing there and casually goes back to looking at the menu.]
[Great Lakes City Tower. At the top, the elevator dings, and all the Louds come out.] Rita:[into her tape recorder.] "No city visit is complete without stopping by the observation deck of Great Lakes City Tower." [The Louds go behind the railing to take in the view of the city.] Luna: "Rad!" Lori:[using the tower's binoculars] "Whoa, literally so cool." Lola: "Worship me, little people!" Lynn Sr.: "Agh, great view! And I'm pretty sure we won't have to worry about any Casagrandes up--" [Too soon. Sergio squawks offscreen.] Sergio: "Hot pretzel, 12:00!" [Two other pigeons are with Sergio as the latter looks at the target, glaring. A man is about to eat a pretzel as Sergio stares at it in admiration] "Lunch time, boys!" [The bird trio charges straight forward at the pretzel. After the man takes a bite, the birds scare him, and his wife. This worries Lincoln, Lori, Lola and Lynn Sr. as Sergio might see them.] Lincoln: "Sergio!" Lynn Sr.: "Dang it!" [Another man walks past them, looking at his phone when Lynn Sr. stops and hides behind him, who looks confused, then miffed. Lynn Sr. sheepishly smiles. Cut back to the birds as the man and the woman have decided to give up their pretzel as she passes out, and the man drags her to the elevator, leaving the tower. The bird trio eats the pretzel.] Sergio:[squawks] "Needs mustard." [Suddenly, Carl comes in, wearing his El Falcon suit.] Carl: "Ah, man! You guys got a whole pretzel? All I nabbed was some peanuts." [He shows the pile of peanuts to the birds and drops them to the ground. He angrily pretends to eat the peanuts pigeon-style, but his El Falcon head is in the way.] Lori:[gasps worriedly] "Carl, too? They're right by the elevator. How are we going to get out of here?" [Lynn sees a window cleaner exiting the platform with his supplies, walking past her and the rest of the Louds. After he left, she gets an idea. A few seconds later, the Louds are now on the platform, holding on to each other for dear life. The only one who is not is Lynn, as she is pushing up one side of the ropes, making the platform go down. The Louds' point of view looks deadly dangerous being this high up, and that makes them hold on to each other more tightly.] Lisa: "By my rough calculations, factoring in our combined weight and this platform's capacity, I'm afraid we're--" [gasps] [One of the ropes on the right side snaps, causing it, and the Louds, to slant.] Lucy:[completes the sentence] "Goners." [Lynn quickly makes the platform go down faster, so that the Louds can go safely.] Lincoln: "If we don't make it, I just wanna say: I love you guys!" [The two remaining ropes on the right-side snap as well, and the platform completely tilts downward to that direction, having the Louds yelp in fright.] "And I'm sorry I spilled pickle juice in the back of the RV and blamed it on Lily!" Lily:[gasps and glares at her brother] "I knew it." [The ropes then finally give way, causing Lynn Jr. to join the others. The platform falls, so do the Louds as they scream, but only by a few feet as they are now on ground level. They take a sigh of relief and leave, except Lynn Sr., who is covering his eyes, until he notices.] Lynn Sr.: "We're alive!" [He feels a bit dizzy as he leaves the platform and joins the other Louds. An exhausted Rita is talking on her tape recorder again.] Rita: "After dropping by to take in the view..."
[Fade transition to Camperzilla driving to a post with multiple signs.] Rita:[voiceover] "...it's time to unwind with some live music at the GLC jazz festival." [The Louds get out of the RV and frantically rush to the park. Lisa and Lynn Sr. stop and look up towards the various signs.] Lynn Sr.: "These signs are a little confusing." [almost loses his balance due to looking too far upwards] "What on earth does this mean?" [He points to a sign that displays a frowny face, and a sandcastle.] Lisa: "You can't build a sandcastle here. What's hard to understand?" [She and her father join the other Louds to the park.]
[The GLC park. A couple of people are coming in to see the jazz festival as jazz music plays in the background. The performers have three members: one is wearing glasses while playing a trumpet, one is playing the drums, and one is playing a double bass guitar. They have just finished their performance as the audience cheer them on, and the performers wave to them. Luna throws up the horns to them.] Luna: "You rock! I mean, you jazz. Y-You get what I'm saying!" [She sits back down with the others, with Lily on Rita's back.] Rita: "Well, we did it. We saw everything we needed to see for my article." Luan: "Ah, that's a relief. For a second there, I didn't think we'd be able to avoid the Casagrandes." [Guitar music plays offscreen, causing the Louds to look back at the stage.] Lori:[gasps] "Is that... Hector and Bobby?" [The two mentioned are playing their duet. The Louds gasp in shock.] Lynn Sr.:[whispers] "Let's move, people." [They try to get out of the park in one way but they gasp as they see Rosa, Frida, Carlos, and Carlitos eating tamales. They make a U-turn but gasp again as they see Carl and CJ playing frisbee.] Lucy: "We're doomed." [Lynn Sr. hides himself with the blanket the Louds were sitting on, whimpering.] Lana:[gasps] "Maybe we can dig a tunnel out of the park." [She starts digging, and the dirt she's getting out lands on Lucy and Lola, causing the latter to get annoyed. Luna then sees the jazz performers packing up their instruments.] Luna: "I have a better idea." [The jazz performers walk to their van. Their cases open to reveal that the Louds smuggled themselves inside. They scramble out of the cases and run back to the RV. Luna suddenly comes back.] Luna:[to the performers] "Thanks. You guys jazz!" [joins her family] [All the Louds run out of the park and stop to find Carlota walking with her phone and handbag, coming their way. They all turn around to hear a skateboard and find Ronnie Anne coming their way as well. They quickly cross the road to stop at another building.] Lincoln:[points to the doors] "Quick! In here!" [They go inside the building and shut the doors, before relief washes over them. However, Lynn Sr. notices what the inside of the building looks like.] Lynn Sr.: "Why does this place look familiar?" [Dramatic music plays in the background as Lynn Sr., Lynn, Lincoln and Lori look outside. It turns out they are in the Casagrandes' apartment complex.] Lori: "Cause this is literally the Casagrandes' building!" Lynn:[pushes Lincoln] "Ugh, great move, Stinkin'! We're in the belly of the beast!" [They notice that Ronnie Anne is about to head inside, and the Louds all run upstairs the second she opens the door. Cut to the roof, as that door opens, and the Louds (except Lynn Sr.) go out. Lynn Sr. follows them and slams the door shut.] Lynn Sr.:[catching his breath.] "That was close. We'll just wait it out a few minutes, and then sneak back downstairs... I'm sure we all need to catch our breath anyway, right?" [His family blink in response, perplexed at Lynn Sr.] "Just me?" [breathes deeply] "All right." [turns the doorknob, but the door doesn't open] "Oh, no!" [jiggles the doorknob more] "No, no, no, no, no, no! It's locked!" [The remaining Louds are worried as Lynn Sr. keeps trying the doorknob but eventually fails.] Rita: "My laptop's in the RV and I need it to type my article! If we don't get down there, I'll miss my deadline!" Lincoln:[looks around and finds something] "Wait, I have an idea!" [goes to a duct vent] "I saw this in a David Steele movie. It's gotta work." [opens the hatch. Imitating a tune, he crawls through the vents. He then sees a closed hatch, which he opens, only to find the place where he started from] "Oh, come on!" [Annoyed, Lincoln gets out of the vent and joins back with his family as the hatch closes, causing Lynn Sr. to collapse on top at the same time (because he was sitting on the hatch).] Rita: "Thanks for trying, Lincoln, but we're out of time! There's only one option... We have to call the Casagrandes." Lynn Sr.[rejecting the idea.] "No, no, no! They can't know we've been here the whole time!" [runs to the edge of the roof, and puts one leg over] "There's gotta be a way off this roof." [His family pulls him back.] Kids: "Dad, no!" Lynn Sr.:[resisting] "No. No, no, no, I can do it!" Rosa:[off-screen] "Louds?" [The Louds turn to find Rosa has opened the door and is on the roof to water the plants, hence the watering can she is holding.] Rosa: "What are you all doing here?" Lynn Sr.:[nervous] "Rosa! H-H-Hey! We were, uhhh... just, you know, uh, trying out Lisa's new teleportation device." [chuckles] "It works!" [to Lisa] "Nice job, sweetie." Lisa:[facepalms] "Oh, jeez." Leni: "OMGosh, really? I thought we were hiding from the Casagrandes." Lynn Sr.:[winces] "Uh..." Rita:[also winces] "Oh." Rosa: "What? Hiding from us? I don't understand." Rita: "We weren't hiding. Well, maybe a little, but only because we had something important to do." [Rosa gasps in shock] "Not that you're not important, I mean, uh..." [to her husband] "Lynn, help me out here." Lynn Sr.: "Well--well, you know, Rita had a Gazette deadline and, well, you know, we thought..." Rosa:[cuts him off; upset] "Don't trouble yourselves. I won't take any more of your time." [She sighs sadly and leaves the roof. The Louds, realizing what they have done, look at Rita as she tells them...] Rita: "Ugh, we have to fix this." Lincoln: "But what about your article?" Rita: "Some things are more important, Lincoln."
[And so, the Louds are inside the Casagrandes' apartment, with Rita explaining to the Casagrandes why they did what they did.] Rita: "So the whole point of not telling you was to spare your feelings, but clearly by sneaking around, we've hurt you even more." Rosa: "Yes, you have. You could have been honest with us. We would've understood." Lynn Sr.:[with tears in his eyes] "We messed up!" Loud kids: "We're sorry." Rita: "Can you guys ever forgive us?" [The Casagrandes smile after a smooth apology.] Rosa: "Claro que sí." Carlota: "Obviously." CJ: "Of course!" Carl: "Mm, I'll think about it. I need time to heal." [Rosa gives him a stern look, which he notices and smiles forcefully.] "I'm healed." Rosa:[to Rita, happily] "Rita, go finish your article. I don't want you to miss your deadline. But after that, maybe you can all stay for dinner." Rita: "We'd love too." [She and Rosa hug each other, and then Rita goes to retrieve her laptop from the RV.]
[At the roof, Rita is typing on her laptop.] Rita:[voiceover] "As our summer adventure comes to an end at Great Lakes City, I'm reminded that it's not always what you do that makes a trip, it's the people you spend time with." [With that, her article is finished and Rita clicks "SEND', thus ending the road trip. She then closes her laptop as Rosa serves her tamales, and they share a hug.] Rosa: "I hope everyone's hungry!" [Lincoln, Lori, Lana, Lisa, Ronnie Anne and Bobby rush to the table excitingly, the table having two more plates of tamales.] Lisa: "Smells divine!" Lincoln: "Ooh, tamales!" Lori: "Oh, yes, please!" Carl: "Hey, isn't that your RV?" [He points to the RV, and the Loud parents come over to see what is happening. Apparently, Lynn Sr. failed to see the towing sign as a tow truck car tows Camperzilla away. Lynn Sr. gasps worriedly while Rita smirks.] Rita: "Well, I guess we're staying the night." [Lynn Sr. and Carl smile, but it's not long until Sergio comes in, squawking and then perching himself on Lynn Sr.'s head.] Sergio: "Hope you don't mind my snoring!" [Sergio starts sleeping, much to Lynn Sr.'s dismay as Rita and Carl laugh. Then the camera zooms out, showing that the Louds and Casagrandes are having a great time on the roof. The end.]
