Plot[]

When faced with a deadline and no inspiration, Frida tries to uses Lalo's paintings as her own!

Synopsis[]

Tomorrow is Frida's art showcase, and she has absolutely nothing to show, having undergone artist's block. She tries listening to a podcast to get some inspiration, but is so frustrated with herself she accidentally throws her paintbrush next to Lalo, who thinks it is playtime and gets paint on himself before shaking it all over the canvas. Just then, Romeo comes over and examines Lalo's mess, mistaking it for a groundbreaking painting she made. He explains there is a big art collector who wants abstract pieces like the one Lalo accidentally made, and requests that she make ten more. When he leaves, Frida realizes she can deliberately get Lalo to make the paintings for her. As she leaves to get more supplies, Sergio visits Lalo for a scuba diving lesson. Lalo tells Sergio that he's making paintings for Frida, but Sergio decides to teach Lalo about supply and demand.

Frida returns with the supplies when Sergio, introducing himself as Lalo's manager, explains that Lalo has to get something in return for the paintings she commissions him to make and has Frida sign a lengthy contract. From then on, Sergio makes Frida do ludicrous activities in exchange for Lalo's paintings. After a few paintings, Sergio declares that Lalo will retire for the evening, with only a few paintings left to finish. The pets end up sleeping in Frida's side of the bed, forcing her to sleep in Lalo's dog bed for the night. The next day, a furious Frida decides to end the deal with Sergio and Lalo, declaring that she will find another dog to finish her paintings.

Frida sets up a dog daycare at apartment 2B to find a dog to finish her paintings, but every dog she finds does not match her standards. In despair and with an hour left until the show, she realizes that she needs Lalo, and sets off in search. At the park, however, she runs into his twin Malo. Mistaking him for Lalo, she begs him to come back and finish her paintings, and he runs off.

Frida sets Malo in her studio and leaves him to finish his masterpieces. As she heads off to apartment 2A to join her niece and children in watching TV, she runs into the real Lalo, realizing too late that the dog she brought back to 2B is not Lalo. She returns to 2B in time to see Malo ruin Lalo's paintings and burst out the door. Romeo visits to tell her it is showtime, and she confesses her deception. Romeo offers to reschedule and reminds her about how she can channel her life experiences into art, giving her inspiration.

At the art showcase, Frida performs her abstract piece live by donning a dog costume and shaking paint on the canvas. The audience is amazed by her art, and a woman offers to purchase all of her art.
