Episode Information

"Senior Moment" is the forty-second episode of the fourth season, and the one-hundred-ninety-first episode of The Loud House.

Plot

Lori regrets everything she hasn't done in high school, and vows to make up for lost time.

Synopsis

Rita is dropping Lori off at the theater to see a movie called Senior Year in Gear with her friends Carol and Roger. After being dropped off, the three friends enter the theater, get their snacks at the concession stand, and take their seats. Senior Year in Gear tells the story of a group of three friends doing fun activities together during their senior year of high school so they can make it as memorable as possible, like claiming their school symbol, turning the pool into gelatin, stargazing on the football field and swimming in the lake. When the movie ends, Lori, having been inspired by the movie, tells her friends that they haven't done anything memorable to make their senior year worth remembering, and suggests that they do the activities the characters in the movie did as "rites of passages". Carol and Roger agree to join her.

First, the three attempt to claim the giant acorn statue by drawing a picture on it. The moment they finish, the swim team arrives and claim the statue as well. Wanting to be the ones to have the statue, the two groups get into a fight that results in both their drawings being ruined. However, this doesn't stop Lori from taking a selfie. Second, Lori assigns Liam to bring some of his pigs, where she explains to her friends that she plans on having them wear jerseys with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5 so that people will go crazy trying to find 4. However, Liam points out that the pigs have recently been greased, which makes it difficult to catch them when they run amok. Regardless, Lori takes a selfie with her friends while Liam holds one of the pigs up. Next, the three attempt to stargaze on the football field, but the amount of bugs, the sprinklers turning on and birds attacking them make them run for it.

The next day, Lori tells Carol and Roger that she got them invites to a lake house party hosted by Tad, and despite Carol and Roger telling that they had plans to go mini-golfing tonight, they reluctantly decide to join her. At the lake house, Lori, Carol and Roger partake in activities per Lori's request. When Lori suggests jumping into the lake, Carol and Roger tell her that they're not actually having a fun time and state that they're going mini-golfing. The moment they leave, Lori jumps into the lake, but immediately gets out when she learns how freezing the water is. After calling up her mother to pick her up, Lori eventually admits to Rita that she's not having a good time at all, saying that all her attempts to make their senior year memorable are awful. Rita makes her feel better by telling her that when she was in high school, she didn't partake in such outlandish activities and she still had a fun time. Feeling better, Lori knows what she must do.

At Hole In One-derland, Lori meets up with Carol and Roger, and apologizes for her attitude earlier. The two forgive Lori, and the three decide to play mini-golf together, where they create their first genuine good memory.

Cast

Trivia

  • The title of this episode references the fact that Lori is a senior in high school.

  • Cartoon physics: When Lori, Carol and Roger eat chili peppers, Roger's head rotates 360 degrees.

References

  • Senior Moment - The title of this episode is a symptom that describes a temporary mental lapse (humorously attributed to the gradual loss of one's mental faculties as one grows older).
  • Rotten Tomatoes - Dank Potatoes is a take on this movie/TV review-aggregation website, where the rating scale of "Lumpy" is a parody of the website's rating scale of "Fresh" or "Rotten".
  • What's with Andy? - Similar pig prank was used in the show, but the pigs had numbers painted on their bodies instead of shirts with numbers.
  • The Simpsons - Lori’s prank involves pigs at night is similar to a prank Homer, Bart and Homer’s college friends did in the episode "Homer Goes To College".

Errors

  • Possible: In the previous episodes Carol appeared in, she has three sets of eyelashes. However, in this episode, she has two sets.
  • When Lori is dared to cut a chunk of her hair, she cuts off some hair from her left side. But as Carol and Roger start to leave, Lori turns her head, and the part of her hair that was cut switched to her right side. Then when the camera cuts to a close up shot of Lori, it's back on the left.
