Trivia[]

  • This is the first episode to not feature any guest stars, solely containing the series' main cast (with the exception of Eva Carlton, as Leni is absent from this episode).
  • The opening scene, in which the Louds frantically get ready for school on a Saturday, is similar to the premise of "Center of Chaos!".
    • The way the parents feed the kids their breakfast is similar to how Rita packs the kids' lunches and feeds the family pets in the Loud House episode "Rita Her Rights".
  • This episode reveals the following:
    • Rita is aware of the fourth wall's existence, as she acknowledges Lincoln's habit of breaking the fourth wall and stops him from doing so.
    • Six years prior to this episode, the Loud kids broke the bathroom door's handle (a likely callback to the Loud House episode "Homespun"), which caused Rita to be stuck inside the bathroom for forty-five minutes.
    • Lincoln and Clyde have a female physics teacher, who has repeatedly warned them that a homemade rocket cannot support their weight.
    • A restaurant called The Silver Samurai has recently gotten renovated, and Lynn once vomited there.
    • Lisa once had a retainer, which she lost at a location called Spaghetti Town (possibly from swallowing it) before vomiting it up.
    • Lola's favorite land animal is the cheetah.
    • Lana's favorite planet was formerly Pluto, but is now Uranus (possibly due to how its name could be interpreted as a pun on "your anus").
    • Lola's favorite kind of hat is a tiara.
    • Both of the Loud parents once had bikes, but Lynn Sr. sold them to buy a unicycle, and he got a concussion from riding the unicycle.
    • Mick Swagger has an album called "Beige".
    • The Loud parents owned a VCR in 1989, but have since gotten rid of it.
      • However, this is likely an error. (See below)
    • Rita has been interested in a series called Duchess of Devonshire: Queen at Sea, which is about a monarch who rules the ocean.
    • The Loud parents do not know the password to their computer.
    • Lana has eight freckles on her face.
      • However, this fact is only in reference to how Mia Allan has freckles and is not canon to the animated Lana's appearance.
    • Lana's favorite kind of syrup is maple syrup.
    • Lana has a friend named Emma, and at her birthday party, she drank grape juice (which she previously disliked) and grew to like it because of how it makes her burp. Lola dislikes grape juice for the same reason that Lana likes it.
    • Lily, unlike her animated counterpart, is not potty trained.
  • The ping-pong balls Lynn Sr. uses for the buddy raffle depict the animated versions of the Loud siblings.
    • Coincidentally, the animated series' theme song has the lyric, "Dodging girls like ping-pong balls", which Luan references after Lynn drops ping-pong balls from the attic.
      • This is the second time the theme song has been referenced, after The Loud House Movie. Coincidentally, the lyric "Dodging girls like ping-pong balls" was brought up in both instances. However, this episode features a subplot focusing on Luna and Luan writing an entire song based on the animated series' theme song, and thus, all of the lyrics are referenced.
        • While working on the lyrics, Luna and Luan directly reference the following lyrics: "In the Loud House", "Dodging girls like ping-pong balls", "Leaping over laundry piles", and "Duck, dodge, push and shove", while Rita and Lynn Sr. respectively reference the lyrics "One boy, ten girls" and "Wouldn't trade it for the world". Meanwhile, "Crashing through the crowded halls" is indirectly referenced via Luna mentioning how crowded the halls are, "Just to reach the bathroom on time" via Lincoln dashing to the bathroom, and "Diapers you can smell for miles" via Luan quipping how they can smell Lily's diapers for miles. "That's how we show our love" is also vaguely hinted at by Luna asking, "What rhymes with 'shove'?"
  • Lucy and Lisa are the only pair chosen by the Loud parents to not be next to each other in birth order.
  • This episode has similar premises Loud House episodes:
    • "Suite and Sour", as both involve the Loud parents wanting to find some time to spend by themselves due to the constant chaos in the house caused by the kids.
    • "Room with a Feud", as both involve two people pairing up each of the Loud siblings to spend some bonding time.
      • Unlike in that episode, where the siblings were deliberately separated from their roommates, most of the pairs in this episode ended up being roommates, with the exceptions of Lynn with Lincoln and Lucy with Lisa.
  • Lynn Sr. suggests binge-watching Joan Shivers' 1972 show, Who's That Lady?, which was first mentioned in "The Manager with the Planager". This episode also reveals that it has received a reboot called Still That Lady.
  • Clyde dressing as Dr. Lopez to assist Lincoln with his conflicts is likely a callback to the Loud House episode "Brawl in the Family".
  • Innuendo: A splat sound is audible when Lynn steps on a soiled diaper.
  • Irony:
    • Lynn Sr. pointing out that Leni was visiting Albert was not enough to make the parents realize that the kids did not have school that day.
    • Lynn Sr. offers to surprise Rita with a trip to Makinac Island, inadvertently blurting out the surprise's contents.
    • Lisa initially dismisses witchcraft in favor of science, despite not caring that magic and science are polar opposites when she opened the Beakers and Creepers club with Lucy in "No Louds Allowed".
      • Additionally, their attempt at challenging witchcraft and science against each other ended on a ceasefire.
        • While neither Lucy nor Lisa was injured by the explosion that induced the ceasefire, it still caused Tanya to be dismantled, and Lucy feared that neither witchcraft nor science could save them from Leni's wrath.
          • Despite Lucy's claim that neither she nor Lisa could be protected from Leni's wrath by means of witchcraft or science, Lisa suggested that both could save them due to each side being useful in removing the evidence that Tanya was damaged by the explosion.
    • Lynn Sr. mentions how Mick Swagger recording his Beige album could have been a hypothetical choice over cleaning out his garage, despite the fact that beige is a color normally associated with boringness.
    • Lucy declined Lisa's offer to shake hands due to her hand still being hot from the explosion that put a ceasefire end to their witchcraft vs. science battle, but when they agreed to fix Tanya together, Lucy forgot to warn Lisa about her still-hot hand, which caused Lisa to burn her hand.

References[]

  • Some Buddy to Love - The title of this episode is a pun on the term "somebody to love."
  • Home Alone - The concept of the Loud parents waking up at a later time than they intended due to their alarm clock not going off, prompting them to rush preparing the kids to leave for school is similar to how the McCallister family suffered a similar fate when preparing for a holiday vacation to Paris after a windstorm caused a power outage, therefore disabling the parents' alarm clock in this 1990 film.
  • Mackinac Island - Lynn Sr. offers to surprise Rita with a trip to this island situated in Lake Huron with a resort area.
  • Scarface - Before demonstrating her plasma accelerator, Lisa exclaims, "Say hello to my little friend!", a quote from this 1983 film.
  • Asgard - Lucy threatens Lisa with chaos conjured from the darkest of the twelve realms, possibly referring to the twelve realms of this location associated with the gods from Norse mythology.

Product placement[]

  • Froot Loops - The fruity cereal that the Loud parents pour into the kids' bowls resembles this brand of cereal made by Kellogg's, but with different packaging due to trademark reasons.
  • Doritos - A bag of nacho cheese-flavored tortilla chips from this brand is visible on the kitchen counter.

Errors[]

  • Rita slips out of Lynn Sr.'s grip when his hands are covered in peanut butter and jelly, despite the fact that both condiments are sticky.
  • Plot hole:
    • Possible: Rita mentions that the last time she ever had any privacy was when the kids broke the bathroom door handle and left her trapped inside the bathroom for forty-five minutes six years prior to this episode, when she and Lynn Sr. both got time to themselves in the Loud House episodes "Suite and Sour" and "Pipe Dreams". However, they likely refused to acknowledge those events due to the kids ruining their relaxation time in the former and them repeatedly mistakenly believing the kids had discovered their secret bathroom in the latter.
      • It could also be a reference to how the former episode premiered in 2017, six years prior to this episode.
    • Rita mentions that she and Lynn Sr. owned a VCR in 1989, despite the fact that The Loud House Movie (which is widely presumed to take place in 2016-2017 due to being set on the interim between Seasons 4 and 5 of The Loud House) reveals that they met twenty-two years prior to the date the film takes place in (roughly 1994-1995), meaning that they could not have owned a VCR together in 1989.
  • When Rita calls for help asking the kids to peel her and Lynn Sr. off the end zone wall, a flash of light appears in the sky.
