Trivia[]

  • This is the first episode to premiere on the same day as another episode (in this case, "Home Is Where the Hero Is").
  • This is the first episode where Peter Breitmayer portrays Mr. Grouse.
  • This episode reveals the following:
    • Lynn Sr. is the assistant assistant assistant coach of Lynn's baseball team.
    • Lynn has a lucky hat that she wears to all of her baseball games.
    • Luan first began her pranking career at age five, and one of her earliest prank attempts was when she attempted to prank Mr. Grouse by filling his mailbox with shaving cream, but he caught her red-handed and gave her all of his pranking knowledge.
      • This is consistent with how, in "Silence of the Luans", Lincoln claims she used fresh whipped cream for her pranks until Lana and Lola were born.
    • Lisa does not know much about baseball.
    • Mr. Grouse does not know Clyde's address.
    • Mr. Grouse has plenty of pranking knowledge. One instance of him pulling a mastermind prank was on March 12, 1963, when he protested against his electric bill being raised by $0.20 by releasing 100 greased pigs into the city hall, which eventually went down in history as the "Day of Pigs". However, he eventually wiped everybody's memories of it so they would forget it happened.
  • This is the second time Lisa takes notes from how Lynn plays her sports, after the Loud House episode "Friday Night Fights". However, unlike in that episode, where she studied the gameplay as a means of coaching Lynn into winning more often, her notes were used to help her understand how to play the sport in this episode, and the roles ended up being reversed.
  • This episode implies that Mr. Grouse is arachnophobic, as Lincoln and Clyde carried a jar filled with spiders with them when they attempted to simultaneously prank and ding-dong ditch him by mailing themselves to his house.
  • The concept of Lincoln and Clyde getting outpranked by Luan and Mr. Grouse is similar to the Loud House episode "Pranks for the Memories with the Casagrandes", where CJ, Carl and Carlitos pulled pranks on Carlota and Ronnie Anne, which was done by Bobby helping his cousins to get back at Ronnie Anne, who pranked him a while back.
    • Unlike Ronnie Anne and Carlota, however, Lincoln and Clyde did not take revenge on Luan and Mr. Grouse to have them face their comeuppance, although they still ended up having the last laugh.
    • Lincoln and Clyde turning to Luan for advice on pranking is also similar to how Lori and her golf teammates did the same thing in the Loud House episode "Pranks Fore Nothing", as well as Sid turning to Ronnie Anne for similar advice in the Casagrandes episode "Prankaversary".
  • The blue explosive pranks that hit Lincoln and Clyde are similar to pranks that hit Luna and Lynn in the Loud House episode "A Fridge Too Far".
  • The prank that Mr. Grouse pulled in the city hall on the Day of Pigs is similar to a prank that Lori, Carol and Roger attempted to pull in the Loud House episode "Senior Moment".
  • Mr. Grouse mentions that he has good hearing. Since he wears a hearing aid[1], it's likely that he had it turned all the way up when Lincoln and Clyde plotted in front of him after they were covered in blue powder.
  • Innuendo:
    • When Mr. Grouse catches Luan red-handed spraying shaving cream into his mailbox, the springy eyeballs on Luan's glasses spring out and look up at Mr. Grouse, which is a visual representation of her shock.
    • Todd attempts to blast Lynn with his lasers after noticing her lying.
    • After Lincoln shows Clyde the "Kick me" sign that was taped to his back, Clyde retaliates by kicking him in the crotch.
    • When Lincoln and Clyde thought they successfully pulled off their third attempt at ding-dong ditching Mr. Grouse's house, a firework show that they did not plan begins, and immediately after, fire truck sirens are audible, which alarms them to the point where they run for cover.
  • Irony:
    • Lincoln and Clyde were caught red-handed by Mr. Grouse when they attempted to ding-dong ditch his house the first time.
    • Mr. Grouse warned Lincoln and Clyde to sleep with one eye open at night, presumably hinting that a prank would hit them in their sleep. However, Lincoln ended up getting hit by a blue smoke bomb when he went to the bathroom, and Clyde presumably also did not get pranked in his bedroom.
    • Lincoln and Clyde attempted to walk away to the post office, only to notice that their shoes had been glued to the floor when they weren't looking.
    • Lincoln allowed Clyde to get hit by the boxing glove Luan planted in the fridge, claiming he already saw it coming, only to get squirted in the face when he opened the sparkling water can immediately after, which further proved Clyde's assumption that Luan shook up the can to be correct.
    • When Luan warned Lincoln to watch out for anybody who could possibly be pulling a prank, Lincoln did not see anybody through his binoculars. However, he did end up getting pranked because of ink being placed on the binoculars' eyepieces.
    • After using joy buzzers to pranks Lincoln and Clyde for one last to end the prank war, Luan and Mr. Grouse gave each other hand-fives, which they both shocked each other with the same hand they had the joy buzzers, thus giving Lincoln and Clyde the last laugh.
    • Lynn ditched her own baseball game to attend Lisa's game, despite denying any want for it before she and her teammates left. To add on to this, the word that drove Lisa to her victory was "ubiquitous".
  • Foreshadowing: Luan mentions that Mr. Grouse pulled the Day of Pigs prank in 1963, and since this was before any of the Louds were born, it suggests that Mr. Grouse told her about the prank.

References[]

  • Cinnamon Challenge - Luan mentions that her voice is raspy because she has just performed this food challenge, in which participants film themselves eating a spoonful of powdered cinnamon in 60 seconds without drinking anything.
  • Home Alone - When Luan tells Lincoln and Clyde about how her attempt at pranking Mr. Grouse backfired, the flashback version of Mr. Grouse looks at her in a similar manner to how Old Man Marley did when Buzz told Kevin about his alleged backstory in this 1990 film.
  • Neil Armstrong - Lincoln and Clyde compare themselves to this astronaut, who served as the captain of the Apollo 11 and was the first human to walk on the moon. They also parody his quote, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" by saying, "One small ding for man, one giant dong for mankind".
  • Bay of Pigs - When Luan talks about the "Day of Pigs", Clyde assumes that she means this inlet located off the coast of southern Cuba.

Product placement[]

Errors[]

  • Vanzilla can still be seen parked at the Loud House as Mr. Grouse and Luan reveal how they had pranked Lincoln and Clyde, even though Lynn Sr. is currently using it to chauffeur Lynn's baseball team to her championship game and later to Lisa's spelling bee.
