[It's a hot summer day, and the sun is sweltering over the Loud house. In the backyard, Liam stands beside three fans all plugged in and running.]
Liam: [panting] "Ooh-wee." [He collapses into a pool alongside Rusty, Clyde, Stella, Zach, and Kara, who are all hot and uncomfortable. Kara is even holding a running hose over her head.] "It's hotter than a pig in a pepper patch."
Lincoln: "Okay, I got the ice!" [He runs out of the house holding a large bucket of ice.] "Get ready to chill!" [But he steps on the power cord for the fans and screams as he falls down the stairs. The ice pours onto him, and it melts in the heat.]
Clyde: [disappointed] "There's gotta be a better way to stay cool." [The others frown, but Stella smiles.]
Stella: "Actually--" [realizes] "Oh, no. Never mind." [Her friends get annoyed.]
Lincoln: "What?"
Liam: "Come on, tell us!"
Zach: "Spill it, Zhou!"
Stella: [giving in] "Okay, fine. Know how I'm neighbors with Principal Ramirez?" [Her friends nod.] "Well, I'm housesitting for her this weekend while she's at some teacher's conference, and she has a pool!" [Her friends get excited and talk all at once.] "Technically, she never said I could use it. I'm just supposed to water the plants and feed her birds and stuff. I guess I could ask." [She takes out her phone.]
Lincoln: "I don't see why she wouldn't let us."
Rusty: [grabs Stella's shoulders] "Please? Stella, I feel like I'm melting!" [He moans and overdramatically sinks into the pool, and Stella glares in annoyance.]
[Stella texts Principal Ramirez.]
Stella: "There, text sent. Now we wait."
[Rusty rises from the pool, and everyone waits. But as they do, Zach notices something.]
Zach: "Uhh, guys, can we wait at her house? I think Lily wants her pool back."
[The screen pans out and reveals Lily is sitting in a bucket of water nearby, angrily glaring at them for using her pool. Everyone glances nervously at her, and Lily growls.]

[Later, at Principal Ramirez's house, a green parrot caws. It is sitting on a perch with two others, one red and one blue, and the blue one caws. Then they notice Stella approaching them with food.]
Red Parrot: "Stella's here."
Blue Parrot: [caws and flaps its wings] "Hello."
Stella: "Hey, guys. Here you go." [She pours their food into a bowl on their perch. As she does, her friends dash over and gasp. They can see the pool in Principal Ramirez's backyard, and it glimmers in the sunlight.]
All: "Whoa!"
Lincoln: "Oooh! This is exactly what we needed!" [to Stella] "Did she text back yet?"
[Stella checks her phone while the parrots are eating.]
Stella: "Negative. We shouldn't go in until we hear back, so just hang out until then." [goes inside]
Rusty: [He takes out a can of sunscreen] "Better reapply my sunscreen. Gotta protect my epiderm." [His friends get nervous.] "Know what I mean?" [They run off as Rusty sprays himself and Zach in his sunscreen, which covers Zach's glasses. As Rusty walks away, Zach groans and wipes the sunscreen away from his glasses. Rusty approaches a wooden crate and opens it, revealing a bunch of inflatable pool toys.] "Check it out!" [grabs something] "Dibs on the inflatable swan!"
[Lincoln, Liam, Kara, and Zach all call out and hurry over, but as they reach Rusty, they are stopped by Clyde blowing his whistle.]
Clyde: "No running!" [His friends are puzzled.] "Sorry, reflex. My dads made me get lifeguard training before I was allowed to bathe alone." [chuckles nervously]

[The pool is shown filled with the toys. Rusty is now wearing the inflatable swan, and he throws a life ring into the pool while Zach sits on the slide and Stella beside it. They're all looking bored.]
Rusty: "Well, I've pre-floated all the floaties. Come on, Ramirez. Send that text!"
Stella: [checks her phone] "Sorry guys, still nothing."
Zach: [groans] "It's so hot!" [He groans and releases the edges of the slide, and he slides down it, stopping just before he enters the pool.]
Kara: [sighs] "What if she never texts back? Well, what if she lost her phone? Or her mind? You know how wild teacher conferences get."
Lincoln: "You know what, I'm just gonna dip my toe in." [Lincoln dips his toe into the water. It lets out a small bit of steam, and then it stops.] "Ahh."
Liam: "Oh, shucks, don't matter if it's a toe or a head, right?" [He inhales and dunks his head into the water, to Lincoln and Kara's surprise. Under the water, Liam exhales in relief.] "Sweet relief!"
Zach: "Hmm..." [notices some leaves; nonchalantly] "Ahh. Look at that, some leaves got in the pool! I'd better skim them off. It's the right thing to do." [He waves his hand back and forth within the water.] "Oh, yeah."
[Rusty is stunned.]
Rusty: "Hmm... A-ha!" [He notices a lawn gnome and moves it to the pool with his foot, and it falls into the water. It sinks to the bottom of the pool, and Rusty feigns worry.] "Oh, no, look at that. Principal Ramirez wouldn't want a gnome in the pool." [He jumps in, splashing Stella.]
Stella: [gasps in horror] "Guys! No, we can't!" [She sees that Rusty and Zach are in the pool, enjoying the water.]
Rusty: "Aww, yeah."
Stella: [gives in] "Ahh, what the heck. I'm sure it'll be fine."
Zach: "Pool par-tay!"
[Water splashes down as the scene transitions.]

[Lincoln is lying on a mattress float while Kara sits in a life ring. A dive ring is thrown into the water, and it sinks to the bottom. Zach swims over and grabs it, then he resurfaces.]
Liam: "Yee-haw!" [He rides down the slide on a noodle and lands next to Zach.]
Clyde: [He is carrying a plate of smoothies.] "Who's ready for more of Chef Clyde's famous tropical smoothies?" [He hands one to Stella.] "Cheers to Stella, the pool party hostess with the mostest."
Rusty: [offscreen] "Rusty Spokes cannonball!" [He hurries over and jumps into the pool, splashing Stella and Clyde, and he resurfaces and sighs in relief, floating on his back.] "This is the life."
[Just then, Stella's phone beeps, so she takes it out and checks it, and she gets excited.]
Stella: "You guys! Principal Ramirez finally texted back!"
Lincoln: "It's about time. Make sure to thank her for us."
[But as Stella checks her phone, she is stunned.]
Stella: [nervously] "Uh, guys?" [On her phone, the response is shown in emojis.] "She texted a thumbs-down emoji, an angry face emoji, and an explosion emoji. She super does not want us in the pool!"
Clyde: "Ahh! Oh, no!"
[Stella's phone beeps again, and she checks it.]
Stella: "She sent another text. 'Car emoji, back in an hour, clock emoji'." [She gasps in fear, and she yells frantically.] "EVERYBODY OUT!!!"
[Lincoln and Kara frantically paddle over to the sides of the pool, Clyde runs away in fear, and Zach and Liam quickly climb out. But Rusty seems unconcerned.]
Rusty: "Bummer. Why's she gotta be like that?" [Stella grabs the inflatable swan and pulls him away.] "Whoa!"
Stella: [angered] "Rusty, this is serious!"
Rusty: "Okay, okay. Just give the Rust-dawg ten more minutes of tanning."
[Stella opens the plug in the inflatable swan, and Rusty screams as he is flung backward and through the air on the deflating swan. He lands near the crate, dizzy.]
Stella: "Okay, guys, we've gotta get all this cleaned up before Ramirez gets back." [The pool is littered in toys, towels, and spilled smoothies.]
Lincoln: "Yup! On it!"
Zach: "Let's do this!"
Liam: "Gotcha!"
Stella: "And Lincoln, can you please refill the pool? The water level went down thanks to Rusty's relentless cannonballing."
Rusty: [stands up in annoyance] "That wasn't me, Stella! A Spokes cannonball is graceful, elegant, and barely disturbs the surface of the water. Watch." [He jumps into the air and performs another...] "CANNONBALL!"
[He makes another big splash, soaking Stella.]
Stella: [spits out water] "The prosecution rests."

[Rusty is stuffing all the toys into the crate, but it won't close because he hasn't deflated them. He grumbles in anger, and he sits on the lid to close it, but it launches him into the air. The toys fall down as the scene transition.]

[Clyde uses the skimmer to remove strawberries from the pool, and he tosses them to a squirrel on the fence. The squirrel catches them in its mouth and swallows them. Kara has some discarded watermelon, and she glances around. She lifts the turf near the shed and hides the watermelon under it. Then she walks off in satisfaction. Zach swims into the pool to grab the sunken lawn gnome, but then he suddenly notices several more have been dumped into the pool.]
Zach: "Argh, Rusty!"
[Lincoln is refilling the pool with a hose.]
Liam: [He walks over with the towels, which are cleaned and folded up.] "Freshly cleaned towels!" [Suddenly, he loses his balance.] "Whoa! Whoa!" [He falls into the pool, and the towels absorb all the water. Lincoln groans in annoyance, and he begins to fill the pool again as Liam grins sheepishly. Bubbles float up as the scene transition.]

[Finally, the pool is clean again, and everyone is pleased.]
Clyde: "That should be everything. The only evidence is my intense, nagging guilt."
Stella: [relieved] "Thank you, guys. Now you'd better go. Principal Ramirez will be here in twenty minutes."
[Everyone else leaves the pool area.]
Liam: "Later, Steller!"
Kara: "Good luck."
Lincoln: "Don't be nervous. There's no way Ramirez will know we used the pool." [He is about to take off, but he is stopped by a squawk.]
Red Parrot: [mimicking Lincoln] "There's no way Ramirez will know we used the pool."
[Clyde, Lincoln, and Stella dash up in worry.]
Clyde: "Did they just--"
Green Parrot: [shrills; mimicking Zach] "Pool par-tay!"
Stella: "They're repeating what we said!"
[Cut to Zach, Rusty, Liam, and Kara, who have returned]
Zach: "Those featherheads are gonna rat us out!"
Kara: "Oh no, they won't!"
[She grabs a roll of duct tape, and the parrots shriek as she approaches them, but Stella grabs the tape.]
Stella: "We're not taping their beaks shut, Kara."
[The girls glare at each other as the parrots squawk in relief.]
Lincoln: "Wait, guys. There's no reason why Ramirez would think they're talking about us." [Everyone grins, but...]
Red Parrot: [mimicking Rusty] "Rusty Spokes cannonball!"
[Everyone cringes, realizing Lincoln was wrong.]
Kara: "Phew, it's just Rusty."
Rusty: "Kara! Not cool, dawg!"
Green Parrot: [mimicking Clyde] "Stella, pool party hostess with the mostest." [squawks]
Blue Parrot: [squawks, also mimicking Clyde] "Chef Clyde's tropical smoothies."
Kara: [sighs, realizing she's wrong] "We're toast."
Clyde: "Welp, there goes my recommendation to U of M."
Stella: [disappointed] "No, I'm the one she trusted, and it was my idea. I'll tell her it was all my fault."
Rusty: "Thanks for doing that, Stell." [begins to walk out] "You are a lifesaver!" [Kara grabs him and pulls him back.]
Lincoln: "We are not letting you down for this! There has to be something we can do!"
Stella: [thinks] "Hmm..." [gets an idea] "I have an idea! Maybe if we teach the birds a bunch of new phrases, that'll cancel out all the pool-related ones!"
Liam: "Heh, worth a shot!"

[On Principal Ramirez's TV, a show comes on titled Colonel Austin: Action Hero, and the host appears onscreen.]
Colonel Austin: "Hasta la bye-bye, chump."
[He pushes a button, and a building shaped like a skull explodes. The screen pans to the parrots, watching the show with popcorn and a Flippee.]
Red Parrot: [squawks; mimicking Colonel Austin] "Hasta la bye-bye, chump."
Blue Parrot: [mimicking the explosion] "Koo-pow!"
Lincoln: "It's working!"
Green Parrot: "Rusty Spokes cannonball!"
Clyde: "Darn."
Rusty: [annoyed] "Why am I being singled out?!"
Lincoln: "Maybe it's not enough to teach them new phrases. We have to make them forget the old ones!"

[Lincoln has a round cracker tied to a string swinging like a pendulum in front of the birds' faces, and the background swirls as he tries to hypnotize them.]
Lincoln: "You are getting very sleepy. You will fall into a deep sleep and forget all about the pool party."
[The parrots squawk as they enter the hypnosis, and even Zach is under Lincoln's spell. He is groaning dizzily.]
Kara: [notices] "Uh-oh, I think Zach caught some stray hypno-rays." [Zach collapses]
Zach: [stands up, groaning] "Where am I? Why am I looking at birds?"
[Sure enough, the parrots are still hypnotized.]
Kara: "They aren't saying anything, so I think it worked."
Clyde: "Yeah! They forgot all about the pool party, Lincoln."
Red Parrot: [squawk; mimicking Clyde] "Pool party, Lincoln."
Clyde: [realizing he messed up] "Whoopsie."
Lincoln: [groans] "I gotta start over again."
Rusty: "Don't bother, yo. I just came up with a better idea."

[Rusty is shown waving as his cousin Derek leaves in his van.]
Rusty: "Thanks, D-Dawg!" [He is holding something under a sheet. He brings it to the backyard, where his friends are waiting.] "Cousin Derek comes through again. I sent him a picture, and he got three identical birds in under thirty minutes!"
Stella: "I still don't feel good about replacing Ramirez's birds."
Lincoln: "It's only until Lisa can wipe their memory. We can sneak them back here next week."
Rusty: "Behold!" [He removes the sheet, but the birds inside the birdcage look nothing like the original parrots. One is featherless, one has an eyepatch, and the third has a black beak. The featherless bird farts and squawks.]
Stella: "Rusty! These birds look nothing like Ramirez's!"
Rusty: "Relax. Cousin Derek also sold me bird paint." [He reveals three cans of bird paint, corresponding to the original parrots' feather colors. Red, green, yellow, and blue paint splatters down the screen, and a brush wipes it away as the scene transitions.]

[The replacement birds are painted, but they seem horrified.]
Rusty: "Oh, missed a spot." [He paints the red bird's head some more.] "Done."
Stella: [somewhat convinced] "I must admit, they don't look that bad, if you squint."
New Red Bird: "Bongiorno."
New Green Bird: "Come estaile."
Stella: [furious] "Rusty, these birds speak Italian?!"
New Blue Bird: "Yo, forget about it!"
Clyde: [stunned] "Not that one. He's from New York."
Stella: "Either way, Principal Ramirez is gonna know they're not her birds!" [Her phone rings again, and she takes it out.] "It's her! 'Five minutes away, car emoji, smiley face emoji'." [Everyone is worried.]
Zach: "She's really going hard on the emojis."
Stella: [out of options] "Welp, guess I'll have to face the music."
Lincoln: "Nope, we all will."
New Blue Bird: "How you doin'?"
Clyde: "Not great, but thanks for asking."

[Five minutes later, Principal Ramirez arrives home. Stella returns the original three birds to their perch.]
Stella: "There you go. Sorry for all the trouble, guys." [The car horn honks, and Stella turns to Rusty, who is holding the birds from Derek on his arms.] "Ramirez is back! Rusty, you gotta do something with those birds!"
Rusty: [hesitating] "Uhh, uhh, oh!" [He stuffs them into his hair.] "Problemo solved!"
[Principal Ramirez enters the porch, but she gasps at seeing everyone there.]
Liam: "Principal Ramirez!" [stammers] "Uh, I-I bet you're, uh, wonderin' why we're all standin' here in our swimmin' costumes?"
Principal Ramirez: "Not really." [She shoves Liam, Zach, and Kara aside, and she smiles at her parrots.] "There you are! Oh, my babies!" [scratches them] "Oh, Mommy missed you!" [smooches]
Red Parrot: "Rusty Spokes cannonball!"
Green Parrot: [squawk] "Stella's pool party!"
Blue Parrot: "Hasta la bye-bye, chump!"
[Principal Ramirez glares at Stella.]
Stella: "Yeah, about that, we can explain. We really messed up. We used the pool before we got your text."
Lincoln: "We're really sorry."
Rusty: "Yeah."
Clyde: [sighs] "I'll just go to community college."
Principal Ramirez: "Wait, wait, wait, I'm confused. I told you to use the pool. Didn't you read my text?"
Stella: [confused] "The one with the angry face emoji?"
Principal Ramirez: "Angry face? I thought that was the 'it's hot' emoji." [takes out her phone] "See?" [She reads her text, pointing to the emojis.] "I said, 'I'm down. It's super hot. Swimming is the bomb'. My conference, 'Bridging the Generation Gap With Students', had a seminar on emojis and popular slang."
[Realizing that this was all a misunderstanding, everyone is relieved.]
Lincoln: "Oh, sweet relief."
Zach: "Phew."
Clyde: "Back to U of M."
Principal Ramirez: "So, I appreciate your honesty, my dudes. But it looks like everything's gravy! Now, shall we hit the H2O?" [Her students smile.]
Stella: "If that means let's swim, we're in!"
[A wave splashes as the scene transition.]

[Lincoln is swimming under the water, and Kara dives in after a dive ring. As Lincoln resurfaces, he sees Principal Ramirez, now dressed in her own swimsuit, with Clyde and Rusty. Principal Ramirez is preparing to jump in.]
Rusty: "Okay, remember: You gotta really engage to get the optimum splash!"
Principal Ramirez: "Principal Ramirez cannonball!" [She runs to the pool, jumps up into a cannonball, and splashes into the pool, exposing the three birds from Rusty's hair.]
New Blue Bird: "Hey! I'm squawkin' here!"
[The episode ends.]
