Script

[It's a very hot day in Great Lakes City. Two women walk out of Margarita's Salon with new hairdos, but the humidity frizzes their hair instantly, and they go straight back in, aggravated. The park birdbath is evaporated, Sancho and his friends are so hot. People slump out their windows and one man puts a bag of frozen corn on his head, but he's so hot the corn pops all over the street. The Casagrande apartment is no exception, Ronnie Anne and her cousins are plopped down on the couch next to a fan. An extremely hot Bobby walks up to them]
Bobby: "Que calor, ah, it's hotter than a ghost pepper out there." [Drops to his knees] "And it's only nine AM." [Falls flat on the floor. Holds up his wet shirt] "This is my seventh outfit." [Seeing how sweaty it is, groans] "I'll be right back." [Goes to change]
CJ: "It can't get any worse."
Weather Lady: "It's gonna get worse." [The cousins look at the TV] "Temperatures expected to soar all week."
[The Casagrande's and Ronnie Anne groan]
Sergio: [Squawks] "That's is, I'm migrating." [Flaps his wings while laying on the floor] "Am I in Alaska yet?"
Ronnie Anne: "I can't take it anymore, I'm asking Abuelo about getting an air conditioner."
[Carlota and Carl scoff]
Carlota: "Good luck with that."
[Hector appears, seemingly unaffected by the heat]
Hector: "Mis nietos, I have a surprise for you, ice-cold paletas."
[Ronnie Anne and her cousins love this, and they each take one, but they all instantly melt. The cousins are dissatisfied]
Ronnie Anne: "Abuelo, can we please get an air conditioner? I'm sweating out of my eyebrows, and I didn't even know that was possible."
Hector: "You kids think we can just buy anything, air conditioners cost an arm and a leg."
Carl: [Holds up Carlitos] "Oh, oh, Abuelo, take his."
[Carlitos is okay with it]
Hector: "Niños, if you really can't live without it, maybe you should raise the money yourselves." [Walks off]
CJ: "Maybe we will!" [Looks at his phone] "Maybe we won't."
Ronnie Anne: [Looks at CJ's phone] "Woah, ACs are expensive. Guess we're stuck with the fan."
Bobby: [Groans] "Here comes outfit number eight."
[Bobby walks in wearing a unicorn tank top]
Carlota: "Hey! That's mine!" [Bobby wrings out the sweat and offers it back] "Uh, you can keep it."

[Later, the six are all chilling in the mercado dairy case]
Ronnie Anne: "We can't live like this, maybe we should try to buy the AC ourselves like Abuelo said. Who's got money?"
[They all look at Carl]
Carl: "I'm tapped out, I just tricked out my ride."
[Carl sets a car alarm for his ride with a 'CHOO CHOO' license plate, a chain steering wheel, whitewall tires, but it's so hot Carl's tricycle bursts into flames]
Ronnie Anne: "Maybe we can raise the money."
Bobby: "How?"
[Hector walks up]
Hector: "Bobby, time to sweep in front of the mercado, there's a street fair happening tomorrow." [Walks off]
Bobby: "On it Abuelo." [Suddenly he gets an idea] "Wait a sec! A street fair? I got it, follow me. [He attempts to walk off, but forgets that he's in the freezer case. In the stock room, Bobby removes a sheet from a snowcone machine] "The mercado's old raspado machine, Abuelo just fixed it up, we can sell shaved ice at the street fair."
Ronnie Anne: "Great idea Bobby, shaved ice will be a total hit in this weather."
[Everyone cheers]
Bobby: "I'm a genius."

[At the 'Sun Fun Fair' the primos' have their stand ready]
Ronnie Anne: "Raspados! Get your ice-cold raspados!" [A customer comes and pays Ronnie Anne] "Order up." [Bobby loads the ice into the machine, Carlota scoops it into the cup CJ's holding, Carl adds the flavoured syrup, Carlitos adds the straw, and they give it to Ronnie Anne to give to the customer] "Here you go."
[Suddenly, Sergio pops out of the raspado]
Sergio: [Squawks] "Ah, now that's refreshing."
[The customer freaks out and runs]
Ronnie Anne: "Sergio, ugh, you're contaminating the merch."
[Another customer shows up]
Customer #1: "I don't care if it's bird flavoured, it's hot, I'll take three."
[Two more customers are behind him]
Customer #2: "Yeah."
Customer #3: "Me too."
Carlota: [Excited] "You guys, we got a line forming."
Bobby: "On it, crankin' this baby to the max." [Bobby dumps all the ice into the machine, but it starts going haywire] "Uh, that's not good."
[The machine shoots ice cubes in Ronnie Anne's direction, she ducks, but the customer gets thrown over. Ice cubes continue to get shot at everyone at the fair. Bobby frantically tries to turn the machine off]
Ronnie Anne: [Gasps] "Shut it down Bobby."
Bobby: [Frantic] "I'm sorry, the toggle won't toggle."
[The machine eventually burns out]
Carlota: "Uh, I guess Abuelo hadn't fixed it yet."
Carl: [Groans] "So much for our AC unit."
[They all look down]
Ronnie Anne: "That's okay, we just have to think of another way to raise the money."
[The machine hits Ronnie Anne with an ice cube]

[Later, they change their sign to say 'MAKE OVERS']
Carlota: "Makeovers! Ten Dollars!" [Mrs. Flores comes up and gives Carlota the money. Later, Carlota is just finishing up] "A little mascara, a little blush." [Gasps] "Say hello to the new you."
[Mrs. Flores looks great until the heatwave melts the makeup]
Mrs. Flores: [Unaware] "How do I look?" [A small boy starts crying and hugs his mother. Concerned] "Aye, where's the mirror? I want to see."
[Carlota throws away the mirror and nervously laughs]

[Next, their sign reads 'BALLOON SWORDS']
CJ: "Balloon swords! Five dollars!" [Three kids walk up and give CJ the money and he folds three swords] "Tada!"
[The kids take their swords, but the heatwave pops them. They look at CJ, mad, and he gives the money back]

[Next, their sign reads 'BOTTLE KNOCK-OUT']
Carl: "Step right up! Knock down the bottles, win a prize!"
[Everyone applauds and Par comes up]
Par: "Ooh, I'm really good at this game." [Gives Carl the money and Carl gives Par the ball. Par, takes the shot and it bounces right off the bottles] "Wait! What! Come on!"
[Gives Carl more money and takes another shot, which bounces back and hits him in the face]
Ronnie Anne: "Wait a second." [Takes a closer look at the bottles] "Glue? Carl, you scammer."
Carl: [Counting the money, scoffs] "You mean, you rich scammer." [Ronnie Anne growls at him] "Fine." [Puts the money on Par's face while he's still dazed]

[Later, the primos are all just sitting at their empty booth, ready to give up]
Bobby: [Sighs] "Guess it's over."
Ronnie Anne: "We can't give up, there must be something we haven't thought of yet."
[Just then, Maybelle walks up to them]
Maybelle: "What kind of booth is this? Ooh! I get it, a sitting booth, you charge people to sit down, good idea kids. How much does it cost?" [Takes out her coin purse]
[Ronnie Anne thinks about it]
Carlota: "Oh actually, Maybelle, it's-"
Ronnie Anne: [Offers Maybelle a box to sit on] "Five dollars." [Maybelle pays Ronnie Anne and sits. To her primos and hermano] "We're back in business."

[Later, their sign reads 'Sitting Booth']
