"The Bros in the Band" is the eighth episode of the third season, and the eighty-third episode of The Casagrandes.

Plot[]

Bobby's dream of playing in a band might finally come true, but can he hang with Par's punk pals?

Synopsis[]

Bobby is restocking cans at the mercado as Maybelle and Vito walk in. He screams when he sees Maybelle about to hit the floor after trying to reach for a can, but he manages to catch her. Par walks in with a shipment of mangos. Bobby grabs the mango cart and starts singing while restocking the mangoes. Par approaches him and asks if he wants to be the new singer for his band. Bobby knows it's his longtime dream to be in a band. He tells Bobby he's heading to rehearsal and wants him to meet the other members. At Ziggy's Records and More, the boys walk in, and Par introduces Bobby to Ziggy. He then introduces Bobby to his two band members, Devon and Henrique. He then gets a call from Maybelle, as she wants him to deliver mangos as he leaves the store. Bobby offers the two pastries, but they laugh at his apron, hurting his feelings. He then receives a call from Lori and informs her Boo-Boo Bear loves her, and Devon and Henrique laugh at him once again. He picks up his guitar and starts singing, but Devon questions the music he's playing. Henrique tells Bobby it's a punk rock band and is not sure Bobby can cut it.

Later, in the Casagrande apartment, Ronnie Anne, Carlota, and Sergio are watching TV when Bobby opens the door and runs into the room weeping. Ronnie Anne asks what's wrong, and Bobby says he got his chance to be in a band but thinks he's just not cool enough for the other guys. In an attempt to become punk rock cool, he enlists their assistance in changing him. In order to make Bobby punk-rock-cool, they had to do a few things. First, they change his appearance by ripping the sleeves off his shirt and shredding his undershirt, then dyeing his hair red and shaping it into a spike. Next in Ronnie Anne's room, they discuss how being a punk is all about attitude. They next go over his punk stage presence, and Hector walks in and tells Bobby he looks like a bobo. Ronnie Anne tells Bobby he's ready.

Back at Ziggy's, the new Bobby approaches Devon and Enrique. Devon sarcastically tells him his makeover is nice, to which Bobby rolls his eyes. He grabs the sheet for the lyrics, scans it, and starts singing. Devon is amazed and welcomes him as a member of the band. The next day, Bobby is sweeping in the mercado when Devon and Henrique walk in. He quickly changes into his punk look and greets them. Henrique tells him Par told them they could hang out at the mercado, and just then Maybelle walks in with a bag of mangoes and wants Bobby to dice them. Devon whispers to Bobby that Maybelle should cut her own fruit, and once they're out of sight, Bobby takes the mangos from Maybelle to dice them for her. Devon and Henrique are watching Vito stand on his dogs, trying to reach a can of dog food. As they leave the scene laughing, Bobby gets the dog food down for Vito. Hector walks up to Bobby and asks him what happened to his hair and apron, to which Bobby replies that his apron was stained. Devon and Enrique join Bobby, and Devon tells him it sucks he has to work with Hector. He thinks it's lame that he works in the mercado. Hector emerges from behind the counter, having clearly heard what Bobby said, and hands him another apron. He tosses it, and Devon tells him they'll see him later. As they leave, Hector comes around the counter, grabs the broom, and angrily sweeps Bobby out. He comes to the realization that he can't lead a double life as "Punk Bobby" and himself.

Back at Ziggy's, Devon and Henrique are practicing when Bobby walks up to them wearing his apron. Devon asks why he's wearing the apron and tosses him the band's shirt. Bobby expresses gratitude for the opportunity to join the band, but admits that the guy they played with wasn't the real him, and wishes them luck at the gig. Bobby walked past Ziggy, and he thought Bobby was playing with Par's band. He tells Ziggy he's not cool enough, to which Ziggy tells him Devon and Henrique aren't cool either. He then asks Bobby to show him what he's got; he gives him an acoustic guitar, and Bobby starts playing his kind of music. Ziggy tells Bobby he sounds superb and asks him if he wants to play with him since he's opening the show. Bobby agrees, and they start practicing and end up rocking the stage. Devon and Henrique are amazed and think Bobby is actually cool. They ask him if they can jam with him, and Bobby agrees, and all four jam together.
