"The Golden Curse" is the twelfth episode of the third season, the eighty-seventh episode, and the seventh full-length episode of The Casagrandes. Plot[]The Casagrandes celebrate Paco's wedding, but they need to find las arras that Sergio lost! Synopsis[]Act I[]In the Casagrande's apartment, the family is making white papel picados and decorating a cake for Paco's wedding. Mama Lupe and Paco arrive. He can't wait to marry Paulina. Sergio goes to Paco and asks him if he has decided on the best man yet. He tells him it's a big responsibility; Sergio tells him he's responsible and begs to be the best man; and Paco tells him he can be the best man. Rosa informs Sergio that he has a lot to do tomorrow as his best man. Mama Lupe also tells him the best man must also hold on to las arras, which she's giving Paco and Paulina. Sergio tells Paco it's bachelor party time. Later that night, Serigo, Paco, Vito and the Casagrande boys are outside, ready to throw the best bachelor party ever. Stanley pulls up in the zoo tram converted into a party tram, and everyone gets on board. Throughout the night, they go to different places; the first stop is a pool party in the hippo pond. The next stop is the pizza place, where they order a large pizza that has Paco and Paulina, the bride and groom, made of pepperoni. The next stop they arrive at is the arcade. While everyone is playing games, Paco tells Sergio that this has been fun, but it's getting late, and he wants to be rested for his big day. Sergio tells him they have one more stop. The last stop of the night is an underground dance party on the GLART. The next day, the Casagrande boys, Sergio, Paco, and Sancho, are all sprawled out on the roof of the building. Sergio awakens to ensure that he still has everything, but the sack containing the las arras is empty and has a hole in the bottom. Sergio looks around as Carl wakes up and asks what he's looking for. Sergio tells him to find the coins, to which Carlos tells him Paco has to give Paulina all thirteen gold coins at the wedding, or it's bad luck and their marriage could be doomed. Sergio bursts into 2A and tells the others the coins fell out of the bag. Ronnie Anne tells Rosa they'll help Sergio find the coins while Mari and the rest keep Paco distracted. Later, Sergio, Sancho, and the kids are outside, retracing their steps from the bachelor party. Ronnie Anne thinks the coins could have fallen in the trash. Sergio opens one can, and a giant claw made of street cats emerges and drags him inside the can. Maybelle walks up and opens the other trashcan, finding one hundred dollars. Carl gaps with excitement and cannonballs right into the can, finding one of the coins. Later, they are back at the zoo and ask Paul about the coins, to which he replies that he didn't see anything left on the zoo tram. He turns away, but one of the coins is stuck in the gum on his pants. Sergio jumps on Paul, which he is not happy about. Sergio tells him there's a big, fat caterpillar on his shorts. Being afraid of caterpillars, Paul threw his shorts onto Sergio. They next look around the hippo pond, when CJ notices Bitsy looking uncomfortable. Bitsy seems to have something in her trunk, and CJ looks, and it's one of the coins. Back at the pizza place, the kids are looking around when Ronnie Anne notices three coins on the pizza the chef just made. She asks for the pizza, but the pizza chef says he sold it to Reizouko. He tells the kids that he has to wrestle him for the pizza—a thumb wrestle. He and Ronnie Anne stare each other down and get their thumbs ready. They have a thumb wrestling match, which Ronnie Anne wins. The chef brings the pizza, and Ronnie Anne takes the gold coins. Meanwhile, at the wedding hall, everyone is setting up the decorations, and Mama Lupe wonders where Sergio is. Frida decides to get started on the photos. Meanwhile, the kids are looking around the arcade. Ronnie Anne sees a coin on the floor; unfortunately, the hipster woman sees it too. The kids start chasing the woman around the arcade, but Sergio manages to get the coin back. Back on the GLART, four more coins roll by as the kids get on. Carl dives and gets one of them while Sergio gets the other two that went into Big Tony and Little Sal's can. Vito has one of the coins and thinks it's a chocolate coin, and the kids charge at him. Later, they are back on the roof of the building, looking for the last coin. Sancho coughs up the coin after realizing he had eaten it. Sergio takes the coins and does a victory dance. Act II[]Back at the wedding hall, Paco and the family are getting a little tired of taking photos. Sergio and the posse arrive with the coins. Now that Sergio has the coins, they can start the weeding. Sergio and Paco share a hug, but Paco's suit has ripped in half. Rosa asks Carlota if she can fix the suit, and she'll see. She then goes around telling the other family members to get the weeding started. As Bobby and Hector are playing music, both of her guitar strings snap, and Bobby's hand swells. He runs to Maria, who is trying to balance trays, and accidentally sends her and the appetizers flying, landing on the cake. Carlota returns with Paco in his repaired suit. Rosa rips the back of the suit off and wants Carlota to fix it again and take her time. Rosa tells Carl, him, and Sergio to get this party started. Carl goes to his DJ booth and plays music. As everyone is dancing, Carlota tells Sergio they have a problem. The door to the changing room got stuck, so Paco can't get out. Rosa tries many ways to open the door, but none work. Sergio then tries to use a pry bar to get into the door and try to open it, but he gets flung back, crashing into Maria and causing her to drop the drinks, which land on Carl's equipment. Rosa appears with a giant mallet and smashes it, to which Bobby is relieved until the speaker he's standing next to gives out one more blast, sending him flying back right through the stuck door. Paco now has a way out and sees what he's missed. Mama Lupe knows the bad luck is caused by las arras. Sergio says he has all thirteen coins, but he counts and notices he only has twelve. Without the last coin, Mama Lupe knows the marriage will be cursed with bad luck. Just then, Paulina has arrived just in time to hear that her wedding is ruined. She sobs and flees, as Paco is mad at Sergio. Ronnie Anne then remembers that Maybelle has been having good luck throughout the day. Knowing she has the last coin, Sergio goes out to find her. Back at the pizza place, Maybelle exits with a free pizza and takes out what appears to be the missing coin. Sergio and Sancho are watching from behind the building, and Sergio comes after, but Maybelle smashes Sergio to the ground with the pizza. At her place, Maybelle puts the coin in her safe and rides her stair lift up. Sergio and Sancho pop out of her cabinet, but Maybelle comes back down to set her mango security system. Sergio manages to evade the laser and gets to the safe. One of his tiny feathers drops off, just barely missing a laser. Sergio is relieved, but his sigh pushes the feather right onto the laser, setting off the alarm. He gets buried in a pile of mangos as Maybell returns. Sergio explains the coin is his, and he needs it to save the wedding. Maybelle tells him that if she can bring her date (who is a leprechaun), she'll give the coin back. Back at the wedding hall, Rosa has fixed the chandelier and descends. Bobby and his now healed hand play guitar with Hector. Carlos starts the ceremony, Lalo and Carlitos come out with the pillow with the rings. Paco takes them and places them on his and Paulina's claws, and he takes the coins from Sergio. Hector and Rosa place the garland over the birds, who share a kiss as everyone cheers. Paco goes to see Sergio and thanks him for being the best man. As it is time for Paulina to throw the bouquet, Priscilla scoots Maybelle and the other female birds aside, catches the bouquet, and sets her sights on Sergio, who makes a run for it. Cast[]
