Episode Information

"The Hurt Lockers" is the forty-eighth episode of the sixth season, and the two-hundred-ninety-fourth episode of The Loud House.

Plot[]

When a sinkhole opens up at school, Lincoln and his classmates are forced to share lockers.

Synopsis[]

At the middle school, Principal Ramirez informs the students that there is a massive sinkhole in the middle of the art hallway. As a result, Meryl is to redirect traffic away from the worksite, and students with lockers in that areas will be relocated and paired up. The Action News Team, upon hearing the news, develop a plan to convince Principal Ramirez to let them share lockers. After a 2000-slide slideshow arguing that them sharing lockers will lead to better Action News Team stories, improved classroom productivity and lunch swap perks, Principal Ramirez is convinced, and decides to move some people around to facilitate their idea.

New locker buddies.

The new locker partners are Zach and Rusty, with Zach having outfitted the locker with a security system, Stella and Liam, who have developed a science project involving collecting eggs from one of Liam's hens, and Lincoln and Clyde. However, the arrangements prove to be more trouble than they are worth, with Zach having to deal with Rusty's 500 daily brushes, Clyde's souffle preventing Lincoln from getting his gym bag, Stella having to find a sewing needle in Liam's haystack, Rusty getting attacked by Zach's security system, Clyde losing his book report in Lincoln's magic hat, and Stella's project malfunctioning. During lunch, the Action News Team lament that their system is not working, and so develop an idea to get themselves out of it.

Later, Lincoln begins to present another 2000-slide slideshow, but Principal Ramirez stops it during the opening and decides to reassign them using Meryl's bingo cage. This time, they find their new locker buddies are even worse. Lincoln has Chandler, Zach has to deal with Lynn, Stella shares hers with Chef Pat and her frozen meat, Rusty shares his with Crikey the kangaroo, Liam gets Jenna and her cheerleading squad, and Clyde has Andrew, who is now acting like a cat after donning a cat onesie. The next day, they attempt to outsmart their locker buddies, but in the process, they accidentally reopen the sinkhole.

Meryl offers the Action News Team the chance to share her locker.

As a last resort, the Action News Team attempts to present another slideshow, but before they can start, Principal Ramirez informs them they cannot switch back. As Principal Ramirez leaves to reseal the sinkhole, Meryl reveals that she does have her own locker, but since she stores all her items in her beehive hairdo, she doesn't use it, so she leaves her locker to them. With the six sharing Meryl's locker, they find the new arrangement works almost perfectly, save for Zach's security system.

Trivia[]

  • This is the eighth and final Season 6 episode to use the standard title card music, after "Eye Can't", "Sofa, So Good", "Crashed Course", "Stroke of Luck", "You Auto Know Better", "Day of the Dad", and "Doom Service".
  • Zach causing Rusty to lose count while brushing his hair due to an interruption is similar to how Lori did the same to Leni in "Space Invader", as well as some unidentified people making Leni and Lynn Sr. lose count while brushing their hair and plucking their nose hairs, respectively, in The Loud House Movie.
  • This episode reveals the following:
    • Rusty brushes his hair 500 times a day.
    • Chandler's locker number is 34, and he gives his locker partners atomic wedgies.
    • Lynn's locker number is 38, and she calls it the "Lynn-der Dome".
    • Chef Pat has a frozen locker that she uses to store meat when the freezer is full.
    • Crikey has been confined to a locker since the events of "Cheer Pressure".
      • Coincidentally, Jenna and her friends from the aforementioned episode make appearances in this episode.
    • Andrew enjoys pretending to be a cat and wearing a cat onesie.
    • Meryl has a locker, but she does not use it, as she keeps everything she needs in her beehive hairdo.
    • Stella is strong enough to carry Liam on her shoulders.
  • Irony:
    • Principal Ramirez says that everybody who has become a victim of the sinkhole has been accounted for, but Mr. Bolhofner is immediately revealed to have gotten trapped inside of it (presumably without the knowledge of others).
    • After seeing how Lincoln "organized" their locker, Clyde says he can't wait to tell Dr. Lopez about the situation, but after Lincoln leaves, Clyde cleans the locker and leaves with confidence instead of calling Dr. Lopez in the mood he was in just before.
    • Zach built the security system on his and Rusty's locker to only allow him to open it and not Rusty.
    • During the second locker switch, Zach ends up sharing lockers with Lynn. Both characters are voiced by Jessica DiCicco.

Errors[]

  • When Zach and Rusty react in astonishment to Stella's egg collector, the egg that had just landed in the carton is upside down.
  • After Rusty brushes his hair for the 39th time, he says that he gets to ditch the other 460 brushes, despite the fact that he would actually have to brush his hair 461 more times in order to reach his daily goal of 500.
