"The Loud Cloud" is the thirty-seventh episode of the sixth season, and the two-hundred-eighty-third episode of The Loud House.
Tired of Mom's sticky note system, Lincoln and Lisa create an app to keep track of the family's schedule.
Synopsis[]
At the Loud House, Lincoln is getting himself ready for school. Before he leaves, he tells his mother that he wants her to pick him up from Gus' Games and Grub later on. Rita tells him to leave her a sticky note on the fridge, and he does so. After placing his note on the sticky note covered fridge, Lincoln exits the house to catch the bus, but unbeknownst to him, his note falls off and slips under the fridge, just as storm clouds arrive. Hours later, as the rain comes down, Lincoln arrives home, angry and soaked, and chastises his mother for failing to pick him up. When Rita says that she didn't see his note (as Lincoln discovers it had fallen under the fridge) and after realizing her phone was on silent mode when he tried to call her (with 900 unanswered voicemails), Lincoln states that there needs to be a better way to keep track of things, and enlists Lisa's help.
The next day, Lincoln and Lisa have brought their family to the living room. Lincoln asks them if they've ever had trouble with Rita's sticky note system, to which everyone (including Lynn Sr.) agrees with. This makes Lincoln and Lisa unveil their latest invention: the Loud Cloud, a personal data storage system that would allow everyone to use their phones to make personal reminders. The invention proves to be a success, as Rita successfully picks up her kids from their respective locations in a hassle-free manner. That night, the Louds are ready to have dinner. However, when the family eats it, they spit it out in disgust; Lynn Sr. discovers that he had made the recipe incorrectly, as his recipe cards are covered in numerous stains, making them unreadable. When Lynn Sr. wishes that there was a better way to keep track of his recipes, Lincoln and Lisa decide to upgrade the Loud Cloud to store their father's recipes. Later, as Lincoln and Lisa head for bed, they discover all the remaining sisters in Lisa's room, asking them if they can add their own enhancements to the Loud Cloud, to which they agree.
The next day, Lincoln and Lisa announce to their family that they've expanded the capabilities of the Loud Cloud so that they can use it to control any of their devices in the house. However, as the family gets accustomed to these changes, their overreliance on the system causes the central computer to go haywire due to its lack of data storage. What follows afterwards is the family's day falling into chaos due to the Loud Cloud jumbling their information:
Rita, along with Leni, Luan, Lynn, and Lana are prepared to go to the mall, but the GPS tells them to go in random directions.
Leni wants to show her mother a dress she wore, but she instead has Lisa's scientific notes.
Lisa, at a scientific conference, is prepared to show her answers to "all of the universe's questions", but instead showcases Leni's selfies.
Lincoln wants to meet up with his friends, but the app gives him inaccurate directions, where he often encounters Mr. Grouse.
Lola is prepared to do a ribbon dance at a pageant, but the music she plays is Lucy's funeral music.
Lucy is holding a funeral in the Loud House's bathroom, but the music she plays is Lola's pageant music.
Lynn Sr. is prepared to cook in the kitchen, but his attempt to turn on the proper appliance causes all of them to turn on and run amok in the house.
Luna, at the Burnt Bean, is prepared to sing a song to Sam, but she instead gets Luan's jokes instead of her music.
Lincoln and Lisa arrive back at the house, and Lisa tells her brother that the Loud Cloud is going haywire, and they need to fix it. After reaching Lisa's room by getting past the appliances running wild, Lisa is incapable of getting the computer to respond, so she states that the only way to stop it is to destroy it. Lincoln manages to destroy the computer by having a tennis ball launcher fire hundreds of balls onto it, successfully shutting down the Loud Cloud.
The next day, the family has opted to go back to Rita's sticky note system. Suddenly, Lincoln and Lisa enter the house and announce that they have something new to keep track of things. However, when the family gets upset at the two when they think it's just another system that will go haywire like the Loud Cloud, Lincoln and Lisa reveal that it's just a simple whiteboard, much to their relief.
This is the first episode in which Zach, Rusty and Stella are seen in Lincoln's room.
The family's features in the Loud Cloud:
Lincoln - Find My Pal, a GPS system that would allow him to keep track of where his friends are
Leni - storing her selfies
Luna - storing her music sheets and song lyrics
Luan - storing her jokes
Lucy - storing her funeral music
Lola - storing her pageant music
Lisa - storing her science notes
Rita - a GPS that allows her to pick up her kids
Lynn Sr. - storing his recipe cards
Lynn, Lana and Lily are the only ones who didn't have their own specific feature in the Loud Cloud.
When the Loud Cloud swaps the family's information, Leni, Lisa, Lola and Lucy are the only ones who got direct swaps.
The plot of this episode is similar to that of the Casagrandes episode "I, Breakfast Bot", as in both episodes, a family decides to use a machine to help with their necessities, but it eventually comes to the point where they become over-reliant on the machine, and some internal issues (Breakfast Bot's frustration/low memory) result in chaos. In the end, they end up being freed from the mess by destroying the machine that they relied on.
Irony:
Lincoln and Lisa's proclamation when relying on the Loud Cloud is "Technology, making our lives better!", and not long afterwards, their over-reliance on it would give them a lot of trouble.
The family was technically responsible for the downfall of the Loud Cloud, as their reliance on it made it go haywire, resulting in their day falling into chaos.
References[]
The Loud Cloud - The title of this episode is a pun of "the Loud Crowd", a common nickname for the fanbase of The Loud House.
The "Cloud" refers to servers that are accessed over the Internet and the software and databases that run on those servers, allowing people to store their files without the use of physical equipment.
Rage Against the Machine - Lisa's comment of "The rage of the machines has been quelled" could possibly be a reference to this rock band.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off - The way Lincoln goes through someone's house, walks up a kiddie slide, and bounces off a trampoline over the fence is similar to the chase scene from this 1986 teen comedy film.
Errors[]
As Lisa heads to her room, she and Lincoln say goodnight to each other, but when they see the rest of the sisters in Lisa's room, it is shown to be daytime through the window.
The kids enter the kitchen to see their dad with better food, Luan has behind Lisa but the next frame she's in front of her.
Also, Luan's right hand is clipping through Mr. Coconuts.
When Lincoln was about to pull off the cover to represent the white board, at the bottom right a part of his hair appears for one frame.
When Luna, Lola and Luan used their phones to use the Loud Cloud, Luan's bottom teeth aren't detailed.
