Lynn Loud Sr.'s brother

This page contains information on a subject that does not yet have an official name. Once an official name is given to the subject or character, this template can be removed.

Biography

He's Lynn Sr.'s brother and he was the favorite child of their father.

Leonard Loud

Leonard Loud (more commonly referred to as Gramps) is a minor character in The Loud House. He is the Loud kids' paternal grandfather, father of Lynn Sr. and father-in-law of Rita.

Biography

As revealed in episode "Home of the Fave" he used to favor Lynn Sr.'s sibling over him. He's very caring towards Lynn Sr. and his grandchildren. Like his son, he gets very emotional over stuff. Prior to the events of "Camped" he used to be a fisherman and because of this, he hardly got to see his family.

One day he hand-me-downed Vanzilla to his son.

Leonard made his full appearance in "Camped!". Lynn Sr. video calls him to tell him about Camp Mastodon closing but is unfortunately cut off due to bad connection. He appears later in the episode and saves the family along with the camp's treasure by catching them on his boat. At the end of the episode he decides to quit his job as fisherman and becomes the new proprietor for Camp Mastodon after Mr. Rinsler retired.

Appearance

His appearance looks similar to a 1970s hippie. He has white hair, a white mustache, and goatee. He wears a tan bandana, and circular glasses with purple lenses. He also wears a purple long sleeved shirt, with an orange vest, blue pants, and red sandals. He also wears a peace necklace. He has similar facial features to his son.

However, in Lynn Sr.'s flashback in "Home of the Fave", his silhouette has shorter curly hair.

A flashback of him with a young Lynn Sr. in "Camped!" shows him looking almost identical to the fully-grown Lynn Sr., except that he has a beard much larger than the mustache he had in the flashback shown in "Vantastic Voyage". In the present, his hair and beard are grayish. He wears a orange parka, brown pants and light blue sneakers.

Trivia

  • He's the first of the Loud family's paternal relatives to make a physical appearance in an episode.
    • He is also the first of Lynn Sr.'s relatives to be confirmed to still be alive.
  • Like Albert, it's unknown if his wife is still alive.

Lynn Loud Sr.'s grandfather

Lynn Sr.'s grandfather is an unnamed minor character in The Loud House, and is Leonard's father, Lynn Sr.'s grandfather, and the children's great-grandfather. He makes his only physical appearance in "Vantastic Voyage", albeit in a flashback.

Biography

He was possibly born in Royal Woods, and his son Leonard was Lynn Loud Sr.'s father. He hand-me-downed Vanzilla to his son, but this seems unlikely, as that would suggest that it goes farther back than that type of vehicle would have existed.

Appearance

His appearance looks similar to a 1950s greaser. He has black hair, that has been applied with grease, and styled into a pompadour. He wears a black leather jacket, with a white shirt underneath it, blue jeans, a black belt, and black boots. He has similar facial features to his grandson.

Lucille and her family used to live the high life, with her brother as the Duke of Loch Loud. But then, 400 years before the events of the movie, the whole family was driven away by Aggie, the castle caretaker, who only wanted peace and quiet. Later, the family tried going back home to Loch Loud until Aggie brainwashed Lolo the dragon into taking away the Duke’s crown. Lucille's cause of death, along with that of the rest of her family, remains unknown.

Harriet

Great Grandma Harriet is a minor character, and part of the Loud family. She is deceased, as Lucy speaks to her "ghost".

Biography

Not much is known about her, except that she's a deceased relative of the Loud family. Lucy still treats her as a living person, which indicates that, (assuming Lucy and her siblings knew her when she was still alive) she and Lucy were very close.

In "Changing the Baby", it's revealed that she was unhappy about Lori, who re-gifted the brooch to the mother of her boyfriend, Bobby.

In "Snow Bored", Lucy fruitlessly calls her great-grandmother to save her and Lynn from Lisa's incoming big snowball.

In "Spell It Out", it is revealed that she once owned a spell book, meaning that just like Lucy, she was also interested in occultism.

In "Tea Tale Heart", Lucy finds a doll in one of Great Grandma Harriet's trunks in the attic.

Appearance

In her youth, Harriet was essentially Lucy's ancestral double, with a few exceptions: Harriet was seen wearing white pearl earrings just like Lola's, a pearl necklace, a black dress with a brown waistband and brown cuffs, and a brown 1930s hat, as opposed to Lucy's outfit.

Trivia

  • So far, she has only appeared in a photo.
  • She is the first mentioned deceased character belonging to the Loud family.
  • "Spell It Out" reveals that she resembled Lucy at a young age. It seems (though she's deceased) she is closest to Lucy, as they look and act alike, and form a somewhat spiritual connection.
  • Her name means "estate ruler".
  • In "Nickelodeon Pandemonium: Receiving You Loud and Clear", Harriet has a completely different appearance. Another different photo of her also appears in "Changing the Baby".
  • Harriet is implied to be on Lynn Sr.'s side of the family, specifically his grandmother and the wife of his grandfather, as there is an "L" emblazoned on her chest.

Shirley

Shirley is the Loud kids' aunt (it is unrevealed what side of the family she is on), who first appears in the episode "Picture Perfect".

Biography

Very little information is known about Shirley, other than she is either Lynn Sr.'s or Rita's sister/sister-in-law.

She first makes a brief cameo in "Picture Perfect", where Luna compares Lincoln's homemade coffee mug to her, in the sense that both look ugly.

Appearance

Shirley is a very repulsive woman, with fair skin, curly red hair and a mole on her left cheek. She wears an olive toned dress with light green spots, three golden bracelets on her right arm, olive green studded earrings, pink nail polish and pink lipstick.

MARCH 15, 2017 • Nickelodeon Animation
  • Rita and Lynn Sr. call the Loud siblings by the false middle name Marie when they are in trouble. Lincoln's actual middle name is Albert after his maternal grandfather.[13] The sisters' actual middle names are unknown, but all except Luna, Lola and Lisa are confirmed to have the middle initial L.

    • Lori is ophidiophobic.[18]
    • Leni is arachnophobic[19][16] and murophobic.[7][20]

      • Lincoln is hinted to be trypanophobic,[22] though that is dubious since he once got vaccinated and didn't seem nervous.[23]
      • Lola may be arachnophobic, too,[24] though seeing as she once saw a domesticated tarantula and wasn't scared,[16] she may only be afraid of wild spiders.

  • Six of the Louds can cook:
    • Lynn Sr. is a restaurant chef and cooks the family's meals.

  • Apparently, none of the Louds have ever had chicken pox, with the possible exception of Lincoln and Lily.[52]
  • Lynn Sr. [53] and Rita [54] had freckles when they were younger.
  • All of the Loud children made a Christmas ornament at the age of one.[55]

Trivia

  • According to Savino, while doing punch-up writing on the Loud House pilot script, Scott Kreamer was the one who suggested that "Loud" be the family's last name, in accordance with the title.
    • According to Michael Malone of Broadcasting+Cable, the alliterative theme was partly a reference from Karla Sakas Shropshire's family. Her father is named Karl, and her siblings are Karlena, Karli, and Karl Jr.[56]
  • The Loud Family was also a name of a power pop band active from 1991 to 2006.
  • Outside of "Cursed!" and "A Very Casagrandes Christmas", Lincoln, Lori, and Rita are the only Louds to appear in The Casagrandes.
  • In some foreign dubs of the series, the Loud Family's surname is localized to the local language's equivalent of 'Loud':
    • Bulgarian: Шумников/Шумникова [Shumnikov/Shumnikova]
    • Croatian: Glasnić
    • Czech: Hlasiťák/Hlasiťáková
    • Danish: Høj
    • Dutch: Herrie
    • Finnish: Leivo

    • Polish: Harmidomski/Harmidomska
    • Serbian: Бука/Buka
    • Slovene: Grom
    • Swedish: Lugn (ironically meaning "Calm")
  • It is revealed in The Loud House Movie that the Louds are of Scottish descent on Lynn Sr.'s side.
    • However, despite the fact that Rita mentions that her family is from Royal Woods in the movie, it was already implied in the series that she had Scottish heritage, too, as Albert used to wear a kilt.[57]
