"Tricked!" (originally titled "Trick or Treachery") is the forty-fifth episode of the second season, the ninety-seventh episode, as well as the third full-length episode, of The Loud House.
For Halloween, Lincoln and Clyde have scoped out a fancy neighborhood to make their dreams of scoring full-size candy bars a reality. Meanwhile, Lucy puts on a haunted maze, and the younger girls scheme to get maximum candy.
Synopsis[]
Act I[]
It's Halloween today, and the siblings, under Lucy's guidance, help prep up for the big day, because she finally gets the chance to set up her haunted corn maze. With everything set up, Lincoln gets a call from Clyde, saying to meet him at a rendezvous point in fifteen minutes. Later, Lincoln, going incognito mode, meets up with Clyde, and Lincoln explains to the viewers that he and Clyde have successfully located a place called Huntington Manor, where the people who live there give out full-size candy bars instead of tiny bite-sized ones. Just when the two begin to figure out how to sneak in without getting caught, two boys who look strikingly similar to Lincoln and Clyde, respectively named Alistair and Nigel, walk out, and leave. Realizing that they can pose as the two, Lincoln and Clyde try to sneak away, but they accidentally bump into Hank and Hawk. Clyde, scared of their hulking appearances, suffers a massive nosebleed, making the big kids nauseous. When Clyde stops his nosebleed, the big kids ask the boys where they can score the most candy, and Lincoln, not wanting to tell them about the full-size candies in Huntington Manor, instead tells them Franklin Ave. Falling for the trick, the big kids leave.
When sundown comes near, the younger sisters show off their costumes. Lana and Lola want to try to get maximum candy, so they decide to wear three costumes at once (Lana as Abraham Lincoln, a pepper shaker, and a pirate, and Lola as Lady Liberty, a saltshaker, and a mermaid). Lisa decides to go as a kangaroo, so she can have Lily as the joey, resulting in maximum cuteness. Lincoln and Clyde arrive, dressed up as Alistair and Nigel, instead of Ace Savvy and One-Eyed Jack. Lincoln and Clyde fib that they're Ace Savvy and One-Eyed Jack in disguise. Lana, Lola, and Lisa drag a spineless Lynn Sr. out of the house, since he's supposed to guide them. After exiting the house, the younger sisters and Lynn Sr. head off in one direction, while Lincoln and Clyde head the other direction. Moments later, Hank and Hawk arrive, donning baby masks. At the same time, Lucy orders her family to get into position in the maze.
Lincoln and Clyde arrive to Huntington Manor, and successfully manage to trick Wyatt, the gatekeeper, into letting them in. Once in, they strip off their disguises, and begin trick-or-treating. Meanwhile, the younger sisters begin trick-or-treating. At one house, Lana and Lola manage to get six pieces of candy by using their alternative costumes. Lisa and Lily manage to get over 70 pieces of candy with their kangaroo and joey costume. Sometime later, Lincoln and Clyde, with their sacks full of full-size candy bars, begin heading home, but need to figure out where to put it. They decide to bury it, because if it's brought to the Loud House, the sisters will eat through it all, but if it's brought to the McBride House, Howard and Harold will lock the candy up, and only bring it out one small piece at a time.
What was once a bustling trick-or-treat street, is now a desolate one.
After burying it, Lincoln and Clyde arrive back to Franklin Avenue, but to their horror, plastic pumpkins and candy wrappers litter the streets, and all the trees and lampposts are coated with toilet paper, leaving the entire street completely desolate.
Act II[]
Lincoln and Clyde arrive to the Loud House, and discover the family taking down their corn maze, saying that nobody came after two big kids ran rampant, causing chaos and stealing everyone's candy. Realizing that the hooligans that caused this were the big kids they fooled earlier, Lincoln and Clyde begin to devise a plan on getting the candy back.
Lincoln and Clyde find a trail of candy wrappers, and manage to track Hank and Hawk to a treehouse in the middle of the woods. While trying to figure out how to get in, the bullies, having eaten too much candy, pass out. Seizing this opportunity, Lincoln and Clyde sneak in and try to get the bag of candy back. Unfortunately, Hank and Hawk catch them, and pummel them into human pretzels. After Hank and Hawk leave the boys in the dumpster, Lincoln and Clyde realize that they can get back at the bullies with blood because of how nauseous they got during their first encounter. Lincoln calls up Lucy, and tells her to get her maze ready.
Lincoln and Clyde put on their British costumes and fill a couple of bags with leaves to pretend they have bags full of candy. As they pass by the bullies' treehouse, they try to lure Hank and Hawk out by claiming they have lots of candy, especially milk chocolate, which the bullies like the most. Hank and Hawk take the bait and chase them down, ultimately tricking them into entering the maze at the Loud House. Once inside the maze, Luna starts singing "You Got Tricked," a song that fits the theme of the maze, while the rest of the family works together to scare the big kids. Their screams become so loud that they catch the attention of the kids on Franklin Avenue. Upon arriving to the exit of the maze, Lucy dumps a bucket of fake blood onto Hank and Hawk, grossing them out, and declaring that they're never coming back to Franklin Ave. again.
Best Halloween ever.
The kids were happy that the maze had scared the bigger children, so they lined up to go through it themselves. Noticing that no one had received any candy, Lincoln and Clyde decided to retrieve their stash of full-size candy bars. They proceeded to give these treats to the trick-or-treaters, promising to take their younger sisters to Huntington Manor next year. They agreed that it’s better to give than to receive. When Lincoln and Clyde declare their Halloween a complete success by eating half of their last candy bar, Lynn Sr., who fell unconscious, wakes up, relieved that Halloween is finally over, but when Geo arrives, still piloting Marie Antoinette's severed head, Lynn Sr., scared out of his wits again, screams "I hate Halloween!" one last time.
During reruns of this episode in the week of October 5-9, 2020, the viewers had the chance to answer trivia questions related to the episode with the Nickelodeon Screens Up app or on Nickplay.com for a chance to see their name on screen.

The Halloween-themed logo for the episode.
This is the first Halloween episode of the show.
"The Price of Admission" and "One Flu Over the Loud House", which both focus on a similar theme, is actually set prior to Halloween, as evidenced by the fact that Rita and Lynn Sr. were spreading the fall decorations around the house in the former. Therefore, it does not count.
This aired on a Friday the 13th.
This episode contains the most amount of references out of any episode of the animated series at 25.
This is the first full-length episode to have its title end with the "-ed!" suffix.
As with the season premiere "11 Louds a Leapin'", this episode has a modified opening. When the title comes up, Lily appears as a ghost, and instead of saying "Poo-poo!", she eerily wails like a ghost instead. However, the modified opening is not used on the DVDreleases.[2]
This is the highest-viewed episode of 2017, and also the last episode to obtain at least 2 million viewers.
Luna's first line is "Halloween's kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you" while talking to Lucy. This is the second time she references "Spooky" by Classics IV, following the short "Slice of Life."
This episode shows that Lincoln and Rita can tell when Lucy's happy or excited when no one else can.
Lynn Sr. was the only Loud to not put on a Halloween costume, as he was scared of the holiday.
Geo is the only pet to wear a costume.
Lincoln, Clyde, Lana and Lola are the only characters who wore more than one costume. The twins took the lead at four each.

In "Get the Message," Lori threatened to literally turn Lincoln into a human pretzel if she caught him in her room again. In this episode, Hank and Hawk actually turned Lincoln and Clyde into human pretzels.
The music during the end credits was also used for the title card in "Back in Black."
In the episode, after Lucy says, "If you wanna make it more authentic, he could bite your neck," the scene when Fangs smiles is cut out, so after Lucy says, "he could bite your neck," the scene instantly cuts to Lori saying "No!" The scene was shown in full in promos.

This episode was nominated for an Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement for Production Design in an Animated Television Broadcast Production, for Amanda Rynda, Larry Murphy, Edgar Duncan, Hallie Wilson and Jared Morgan. This is the first time that The Loud House was nominated for an Annie.[3]
In the Hebrew dub, "Halloween" is transliterated as האלווין instead of being translated to ליל כל הקדושים.
However, All Hallow's Eve in Lisa's line, "Ugh. All Hallow's Eve, street name Halloween, is clearly ruined," is translated as ליל כל הקדושים.
Following "Toads and Tiaras," this is the second episode in which Lana impersonates Lola.
Fittingly, Lori and Bobby Santiago both wore vampire costumes in the two episodes.
Innuendo:
When Hank taunts to Hawk that their booty (the candy) was "pretty awesome," Hawk initially thinks he was talking about his buttocks.
While coming up with a solution to make Rita's appearance more zombie like, Lucy randomly pulls out a chainsaw on her. Rita is horrified believing Lucy was going to use the chainsaw to amputate one of her limbs only to realize the chainsaw was actually for Lynn.
Cartoon physics:
The silver peg leg somehow fits into Lana's left foot in her pirate costume. The twins were also able to change their costumes very quickly. Also, Leni is able to hide her head inside the small corset in her Marie Antoinette costume.
Hank and Hawk physically attack Lincoln and Clyde by making them into the shape of literal pretzels.

Trick or Treachery - This episode's original title is an obvious pun of "trick or treat."
Corpse Bride - Luna's costume resembles a skeleton in a hat playing a piano. A similar character appeared in this Tim Burton film.
Luna also references the movie during "You Got Tricked."
Halloween - She also slightly resembles Michael Myers, the main antagonist of this film series, likely for wearing a boiler suit.
Scooby-Doo - During the song "You Got Tricked," there are a few moments that resemble the musical montages they had in episodes of this series.
Statue of Liberty - One of Lola's costumes is based on this New York landmark.
Abraham Lincoln - One of Lana's costumes is based on the 16th President of the United States.
Marie Antoinette - Leni's costume is based on this infamous Queen of France during the French Revolution, and the fact that she has a decapitated head references her getting beheaded by guillotine during the Reign of Terror.
Cassandra Peterson - Luna refers to Lucy as the Mistress of the Dark, a reference to Elvira, the character Cassandra Peterson has portrayed since 1981.
Jeff Dunham - Mr. Coconuts' Frankenstein costume is a homage to this actor's character The Crakenstein (Walter as Frankenstein).
Winston Churchill - Lincoln and Clyde mention this British statesman who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom twice.
Harry Potter - One of the trick or treaters is dressed as the titular character of this fantasy series.
Cars 3 - Lisa's wagon has the pattern of star racecar Lightning McQueen's training suit from this 2017 film.
Johann Sebastian Bach - Luna plays a few notes of the "Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565" on her pipe organ.
Lucy even instructs Luna to take the chord down to D minor, just as the song suggests.
The Bible - Lucy's line, "You reap what you sow.," is a reference to Galatians 6, which says: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."
Halloween Is Grinch Night - The blobs popping up next to Lincoln on the title card and the scenes in the cinematics played during Luna's song depicting monsters startling and chasing Hank and Hawk both seem to parody the sequence in this 1977 television special in which the Grinch opens his paraphanelia wagon, leaving the horrors inside of it to scare Euchariah Who.
Classics IV - Luna's line "Halloween's kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you" references the 1967 song "Spooky".
The Addams Family - Lucy's line "You rang?" is a reference to Lurch's catchphrase.
Errors[]
This episode shows that Lynn Sr. is a complete coward when it comes to Halloween, despite not being overly terrified of Halloween in "Along Came a Sister."
Wilbur Zaldivar's name is misspelled as Wilber Zaldivar in the credits.
In "Along Came a Sister," Lana hates being called cute, but in both this episode and in "Yes Man," she has no problem with it.
It is possible that she got over it since then.
Or that she is able to tolerate it when she is getting something out of it.
The hot dog girl leaves with a full-size bar...
...and somehow gets another one.
When Leni has her costume on, and her head hidden, she is unable to see, and as a result, appears slightly clumsy, as she bumps into the doorframe and falls down the stairs, yet she seems to have no trouble finding her way through the maze.
At the start of the epilogue, the girl in the hot dog costume is seen leaving with one of Lincoln and Clyde's full size candy bars, but is later shown as the last kid to get a bar.
Before Lynn Sr. wakes up during the epilogue, Lincoln and Clyde are sitting on the front steps of the house, but after Lynn Sr. screams over the severed head, they are gone.
In the United Kingdom and Ireland, when this episode first premiered, the Nickelodeon ending logo appeared after the first part finished.
