"Wild Goss Chase" is the seventeenth episode of the eighth season, and the three-hundred-fiftieth episode of The Loud House.
This episode marks Mrs. Johnson's first speaking role in an episode since the Season 6 episode "Crown and Dirty".
This is the first episode where Winston speaks, as he first appeared as a silent cameo in his debut episode "L Is for Love".
This episode reveals that Jesse Hiller has a young niece named Jamie, who is the editor-in-chief for Royal Woods Elementary's newspaper club. Much like her aunt, Jamie’s speech patterns are filled with gazette phrases.
References
Wild Goss Chase - The title of this episode is a pun of the expression “wild goose chase”, which describes a foolish and hopeless pursuit of something unattainable.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - The premise of this episode is similar to that of this show's Season 2 episode "Ponyville Confidential", which is also about the main character publishing gossip in their school's newspaper.
Errors
There are a couple errors in the credits for this episode:
Principal Huggins's name is misspelled as "Principal Higgins".
Meryl's name is misspelled as "VMeryl".
Kristen, the girl with the bandaged nose from "Sleepstakes", is mistakenly referred to as Ashley, the orange-haired girl from the aforementioned episode, in this episode.
