Plot[]

Mom tries to convince a newspaper editor that her kids are perfect in order to land a parenting advice column job.

Synopsis[]

It's a normal day at the Loud House, and as the Loud kids play around, Rita walks by with a newspaper, where she asks Lynn Sr. to come to the car with her. Upon entering Vanzilla, Rita reveals that the Royal Woods Gazette is looking for someone to pen the newspaper's parenting advice column. When Lynn Sr. says that Rita is the perfect fit for the job, Rita promptly sends in her resume to the newspaper company.

While working in her garden, Rita gets a phone call from Jesse Hiller, the chief editor of Royal Woods Gazette. Jesse says that she's impressed with Rita's resume and believes she's perfect for the parenting advice column. However, to Rita's horror, what Jesse expects from Rita is that her eleven children are perfect and states that she'll arrive at the house at 3:00 to see her. This prompts Rita to inform the kids that she needs them to act perfect, but when they disagree, saying it's a difficult task for them, she promises that she'll take them to Jean Juan's French Mex for dinner, which motivates them to comply with her wishes.

Eleven "perfect" kids.

At 3:00, Jesse arrives to the Loud House, and Rita, wearing a fancy dress, invites her into the well-cleaned living room. Rita calls for the kids, and they, complete with matching blue attire, introduce themselves one by one and explain through song on why Rita is a great mother, and Jesse, impressed with their performance, promptly hires Rita.

As the days pass, Rita becomes well-known throughout the town for her parenting advice. However, when Rita goes somewhere public, she nearly gets exposed by the kids being a nuisance. A week later, the kids remind Rita of her promise of taking them to Jean Juan's for dinner, and Rita decides to take them there, despite how early it is.

At Jean Juan's French Mex, the kids eat their meals and play around. However, as they eat, Jesse and a couple co-workers arrive and sit at a nearby table. Rita tries to get the kids to calm down, but a few of their antics cause inconvenience for Jesse and her co-workers. The kids attempt to pass themselves off as different people, but Rita, knowing that she can't hide them anymore, admits to Jesse that her children are not perfect and says that parenting to her is the hardest thing she can do, but she loves to do that. With this secret revealed, Jesse immediately fires Rita, but the co-workers side with Rita, saying that parenting is a difficult task and state that her advice helped them out with their own kids. Jesse, after outright admitting that she doesn't have kids, rehires Rita, much to the kids' happiness, and encourages her to write her stories with authenticity rather than perfection.

  • The tune of "Our Amazing Mother" plays throughout this episode as a leitmotif, including on the title card.
  • As of this episode, Rita's novel is complete.

References[]

  • Write and Wrong - The title of this episode is a pun of "right and wrong."
  • Apple Inc. - The laptop Rita uses in this episode has a similar appearance to this company's laptops, with the logo being Lincoln's head instead of an apple.
  • The Sound of Music - The way the Loud kids dress the same and sing together is similar to the von Trapp children from this 1965 Best Picture-winning film.

Errors[]

  • When the siblings are introducing themselves to Jesse while being perfect, the closed captioning misspells Lori as "Laurie." This goof also occurred in "Pipe Dreams."
  • When Lola is playing duck, duck, goose, the back of Lucy's hair is missing.
    • Also Leni's dress was short. But when Lucy tags Lori, Leni's dress is normal length.
  • When the siblings were about to upstairs to clean their rooms after their song, Leni's and Luna's eyes looked to the right without any motion or animation.
  • When Lori chased Lynn after she gets hits by her soccer ball in the face, Lynn's body is backwards when she runs.
  • When Rita is explaining her situation to the kids. Lincoln's eyebags are missing.
    • Also Lisa's teeth weren't detailed.
  • When Luan reminds Rita they are having their big night at Jean Juan's, her bottom teeth weren't detailed.
